Chapter 677: Complete Truth
Chapter 677: Chapter 677: Complete Truth
"Is there... is there anything you haven’t told me yet?" he asked carefully.
Yu Holea blinked, surprised by the question. She studied his face for a moment before nodding.
"There are many things I haven’t told you, Qiao Jun. Not because I don’t trust you, but because some things are hard to explain."
Qiao Jun felt a strange sense of relief at her honesty.
Then he hesitated again before asking the real question. "Lea... do you remember your past life?"
Yu Holea’s eyes widened slightly, but she didn’t look shocked—more like she was expecting this question at some point.
Slowly, she nodded.
"Yes. I remember three lifetimes, actually."
Qiao Jun’s breath caught in his throat. He hadn’t expected her to answer so directly.
"Three lifetimes? What do you mean?"
Yu Holea leaned back in her chair, her eyes distant as if she were looking at something far away.
"In my first lifetime, I was Yu Holea of this world. I lived a miserable life, full of pain and regret. I was betrayed by people I trusted, and everything fell apart. It was... a dark life.
I was swapped at birth, Yu Mei trampled on my life, the Yu Family abandoned me and I chased after someone who too loved Yu Mei.
All in all, it was a tragic life."
Honestly, Yu Holea didn’t have emotions for her first life.
She had only read the story of her first life and had some dreams.
"In my second lifetime," she said after a pause,
"I was again Yu Holea. This time though something was different. I was someone completely different—a cursed star.
I was born with a destiny to be alone. Even my biological parents abandoned me because they believed I was bad luck.
But my master... he didn’t. He adopted me and taught me mystic cultivation. I became strong, but no matter how powerful I grew, I was always alone."
Qiao Jun’s heart ached as he listened. "Lea..."
Yu Holea looked at him, her eyes steady.
"It’s strange, isn’t it? To remember lives that aren’t supposed to exist anymore. But it’s the truth. These memories—they’ve shaped who I am today."
Qiao Jun reached out and took her hand in his.
"Lea, no matter who you were or what you’ve been through, you’re not alone in this life. You have me. You have people who care about you."
A small smile tugged at her lips. "Thank you, Qiao Jun. That means a lot to me."
Qiao Jun hugged Yu Holea and softly patted her back. His eyes flashed with a complex expression.
Even without Sheng Yin telling the truth he had a general idea now.
Yet to confirm, he decided to meet her later.
"But why are you suddenly asking all of this?" Yu Holea asked curiously.
"Nothing...I just wanted to tell you something, I had kept hidden for a long time, so I asked the same question from you." Qiao Jun smiled.
"Hm? What is it?" Yu Holea’s eyes sparkled with amusement.
Pulling from Yu Holea, Qiao Jun stared straight into her eyes and said,
"I love you. A lot. I love you Holea. I don’t know why I wasn’t with you for the past two lifetimes, but I wish, that moving forward, in every lifetime, I will be with you."
Yu Holea’s eyes turned moist, but a smile graced her lips,
"I wish the same."
........................
The next evening, Qiao Jun arrived at the hotel where Sheng Yin was staying.
He walked into the room and found her sitting by the window, her hands folded neatly in her lap.
The moment she saw him, she stood up, her face calm but expectant.
"I know the first half of the truth," Qiao Jun said as he closed the door behind him.
Sheng Yin nodded as if she’d been expecting him to say that. "I thought you might," she said softly.
"Did you ask her directly?"
"Yes," Qiao Jun replied. He sat down across from her, his expression serious.
"Lea told me about her three lifetimes. She told me about how she was betrayed in her first life and how tragic everything was.
And she told me about her second life—how she was a cursed star and was destined to be alone."
Sheng Yin sighed and looked out the window for a moment.
"Then you must understand now why she can’t know about the Unholy Dungeon."
Qiao Jun’s jaw tightened, but he nodded.
"However, I would still prefer to tell you everything." Sheng Yin said. Her expression turned grim, as she continued,
"In the first lifetime after Yu Holea died, the Yu Family took 2 years to regain their senses. You might not know this but Yu Mei used some kind of magic to control the thoughts of the Yu family.
On realizing what they had done wrong, they did her final rites and started to pay her a visit. They even took revenge on Yu Mei and destroyed her completely.
Their hatred for Yu Mei was so much, that they wanted her to never reincarnate. However, before they can take action and completely wipe off her soul...Yu Mei took her own life.
The Yu family could only regret it and move on with life. It wasn’t until a famous celestial master visited Yu Holea’s tomb, that it was realized that something was amiss.
Yu Mei had somehow managed to split Yu Holea’s soul into two parts, causing Yu Holea to suffer even after reincarnation.
Her one part of the soul remained in this world, but it was unknown where it was. The other half had reincarnated, but her life again was filled with misery. She was destined to live a miserable for the next 7 lifetimes of hers. "
"In her second lifetime," Sheng Yin continued,
"Yu Holea’s soul was incomplete, and that’s why she was born under the cursed star. Her life was doomed from the start.
No matter how hard she tried or how strong she became, loneliness and tragedy followed her like a shadow. It wasn’t her fault, Qiao Jun. It was the curse of a broken soul."
Qiao Jun clenched his fists.
"So, this curse—this suffering—it’s all because of Yu Mei? Because of what she did in the first lifetime?"
Sheng Yin nodded grimly.
"Yes. Yu Mei’s hatred for Yu Holea ran so deep that even in death, she wanted her to suffer. Splitting her soul was an act of cruelty beyond anything the Yu family could imagine.
They wanted to change it and hence they sacrificed their life for Yu Holea’s soul to return to this world again and reunited with the first part of her soul."
"Wait..." Qiao Jun blinked in confusion,
"How can their sacrifice bring Yu Holea back to this world and why not just send Yu Holea’s first half of the soul to that world instead?"
Sheng Yin folded her hands tightly as she explained,
"That’s because the rules of the universe don’t work like that, Qiao Jun. A soul that’s been split cannot leave the world it’s tethered to.
The first half of Yu Holea’s soul is bound to this world, while the other half has already moved on to reincarnate in the next. The Yu family’s sacrifice wasn’t enough to fully fix what Yu Mei did."
Qiao Jun’s eyebrows knitted in frustration.
"Then what did their sacrifice do? If it couldn’t fix her soul, what was the point?"
Sheng Yin sighed deeply.
"It wasn’t pointless. The Yu family’s sacrifice allowed Yu Holea’s first soul fragment to gain a physical form in this world—a form that could someday seek the other half of her soul and try to become whole again.
Of course, even that had a twist, the physical form exists in the third lifetime, not the first. This means that even after their sacrifice, they won’t be able to see Yu Holea ever again."
Qiao Jun was silent before asking,
"So, the Yu family sacrificed for Yu Hole, and are the reason why Yu Holea is in this world?"
"Yes. What made Yu Holea break down was...knowing how much the Yu Family cared for her and how they had died just to atone for their sin...
Actually, in the future which I come from, Yu Holea never forgave the Yu Family. Only after when she got married to you, had kids, and... experienced some major issues, did she get to know about the truth of her first lifetime.
By then, Mrs. Yu had passed away...and the Yu Sibling they too died in some misfortunes..."
Qiao Jun stared at Sheng Yin, trying to process everything she had just said.
"So... in the future you came from, Lea never got to forgive the Yu family? And they all... they all died?"
Sheng Yin nodded, her face heavy with regret.
"Yes. The truth came out too late for her to make amends. By the time she understood everything, there was no one left to forgive. That’s why she was left with so much guilt in that timeline."
Qiao Jun’s heart ached for Yu Holea.
