Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All
Chapter 673: Love Me?

Chapter 673: Chapter 673: Love Me?

"I didn’t say anything! You’re imagining things!"

"Sheng Yin!" Yu Shuchang called after her, but she was already heading for the door.

"I have something urgent to do!" she said quickly, not daring to look back. "I’ll... I’ll see you later!"

Before Yu Shuchang could say another word, she slipped out of the room, leaving him alone.

For a moment, he just sat there, stunned.

Then, a wide smile slowly spread across his face. He leaned back in his chair, his heart still racing.

"So... I was her first teenage crush, huh?" he murmured to himself, his grin growing wider.

The memory of Sheng Yin’s flustered expression replayed in his mind, and he couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

For the first time in a long while, he felt genuinely happy.

Meanwhile, outside the studio, Sheng Yin leaned against the wall, covering her burning face with her hands.

"Why did I say that out loud?" she muttered to herself, her voice filled with frustration. "How could I be so careless?"

Her heart was pounding so loudly that she could barely think straight.

She replayed the scene in her mind, cringing at how easily she had let her guard down.

Lifting her hand, she slapped herself and reminded,

"He will not love you! Don’t see the dream you weren’t able to fulfill even after dedicating your whole life! After the contract is over, he will leave you! He will start to love Susan! You will become nobody..."

Her beating heart suddenly turned calm, her body turned cold, and the smile on her face started to fade.

A lump formed in her throat, but Sheng Yin calmly started to walk toward her.

Honestly, other than not loving her back, Yu Shuchang had done a lot for her in her past life.

In this life though...she had ensured, he didn’t have to help her time and time and again.

In this life, she wanted to be a capable person in his eyes.

Not some puppy needed help.

Even if he will never develop any feelings for her, she wants to ensure that he never knows about her feelings.

Hence, Sheng Yin took out her phone and typed a message with a calm expression,

’All the words I said were true, but they were in the past, now they don’t mean much.’

Yu Shuchang who was almost dancing with joy, received the message and opened it hurriedly.

When he saw the message, his smile froze, before a dangerous glint appeared in his eyes.

"Past? Hm...who knows when it will become the future...hm...as long as the contract is in my hand, you will never escape from my clutches."

Sheng Yin was indeed right.

He just acts like a gentleman, but in reality, he isn’t any.

Before realizing the depths of his love, he could have let her go...but now...

Yu Shuchang calmly took out the contract from his cabinet and burnt it. Then he walked out to the room, poured some gasoline, and started a fire.

As he watched his office burn, he received Sheng Yin’s call.

Yu Shuchang smiled, he pressed the answer button and said in a panicked voice,

"Sheng Yin, please call me later...I am in trouble."

"That is why I am calling you! Why is your office on fire? Are you inside? Are you hurt? I am coming. Don’t worry nothing will happen to you." Sheng Yin’s anxious voice

On the other end of the line, Yu Shuchang let out a soft chuckle.

Her concern made his heart warm, but he quickly forced himself to sound more distressed.

"Sheng Yin, it’s... it’s a big fire. I think I’m trapped."

"Trapped?" Sheng Yin’s voice cracked, and he could hear her footsteps as if she was running.

"Stay on the phone! I’m almost there. Just don’t hang up!"

Yu Shuchang smiled slyly to himself.

This wasn’t exactly how he had planned things, but it was turning out better than he expected.

Still, he needed to sell his act. He coughed a little into the phone, pretending to choke on the smoke.

"It’s getting hard to breathe," he said weakly. "I don’t think I can make it..."

"Shut up!" Sheng Yin shouted, tears threatening to spill from her eyes.

"Don’t you dare say that! Just stay where you are. I’m coming to save you!"

Her voice trembled, and Yu Shuchang could hear the raw fear in it.

He felt a twinge of guilt for making her so worried, but the thought of her rushing to him, her heart fully focused on him, made him feel strangely satisfied.

"I’m sorry, Sheng Yin," he murmured softly. "If something happens to me, just know... I didn’t mean to—"

"Yu Shuchang!" she screamed, cutting him off. "Stop talking like that! Nothing is going to happen to you!"

She was sprinting now, her breaths coming in short gasps.

Sheng Yin had no idea why Yu Shuchang’s office was on fire or why he hadn’t called for help earlier.

All she knew was that she couldn’t lose him—not like this.

When she finally reached the building, she saw thick black smoke pouring out of the windows.

Her heart nearly stopped. Without a second thought, she ran toward the entrance.

"Wait, Sheng Yin!" Yu Shuchang’s voice came through the phone. "Don’t come in! It’s too dangerous!"

"I don’t care!" she yelled back, ignoring the warning. "If you’re in there, I’m coming to get you!"

Yu Shuchang’s eyes widened as he heard her determination.

For a moment, his plan didn’t seem so amusing anymore. Was she really going to risk her life for him?

"Sheng Yin, stop!" he shouted. "I’ll come out! Just stay outside!"

But Sheng Yin was already inside the building, coughing as the smoke stung her throat and eyes.

She pressed her sleeve against her nose and mouth, trying to filter the air as she called out,

"Yu Shuchang! Where are you?"

Hearing her voice echoing through the burning building, Yu Shuchang felt a wave of panic.

He had never expected her to actually run into the fire.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Dropping his phone, he hurried toward the entrance to find her.

"Sheng Yin!" he yelled, his voice hoarse. "I’m here! Get out now!"

But Sheng Yin ignored him, determined to find him no matter what.

When their paths finally crossed in the smoke-filled hallway, she nearly collapsed with relief.

"You idiot!" she cried, grabbing his arm. "Why didn’t you leave earlier? Do you want to die?"

Yu Shuchang stared at her, stunned by the tears streaming down her face.

She was trembling, her grip on his arm tight as if she was afraid he would disappear.

His heart twisted in ways he didn’t fully understand.

"I..." he started to say, but Sheng Yin cut him off.

"No time to talk! We need to get out of here!" she shouted, pulling him toward the exit.

The two of them stumbled through the smoke, coughing and shielding their faces.

The fire roared around them, and Sheng Yin’s heart pounded with fear.

All she could think about was getting Yu Shuchang to safety.

Finally, they burst out of the building, collapsing onto the ground as fresh air filled their lungs.

Sheng Yin coughed violently, her chest burning, but she refused to let go of Yu Shuchang’s arm.

"You’re... an idiot," she said between gasps. "Why... would you... stay in there?"

Yu Shuchang didn’t respond right away.

He was staring at her, his expression unreadable. For the first time, he realized just how much she cared about him.

The sight of her risking her life for him, tears in her eyes, made something in his chest tighten.

"I didn’t mean for you to come inside," he said softly. "You could’ve been hurt."

Sheng Yin glared at him, her eyes still wet.

"And you think it’s okay for you to get hurt? What were you even doing in there?"

Yu Shuchang hesitated, unsure of what to say.

He couldn’t exactly tell her the truth—that he had started the fire on purpose.

Instead, he lowered his gaze and muttered,

"It doesn’t matter. What matters is that we’re both safe now."

Sheng Yin didn’t look convinced, but she was too exhausted to argue.

She leaned back against the pavement, staring up at the sky as she tried to catch her breath.

"Next time don’t stand there like a dummy."

Yu Shuchang nodded, his expression thoughtful.

Meanwhile, Sheng Yin thought of how Yu Shuchang had died while protecting her. Before dying he had said,

"Protect yourself from now on. I won’t be there for you..."

Just those words were enough to disturb her and make her feel a tightness in her chest.

In this life, Yu Shuchang will stay alive, even if it means that she will have to die.

Before Sheng Yin could react, she heard Yu Shuchang’s words,

"Do you love me, Sheng Yin? Is it because of love that you came here to save me?"

Sheng Yin’s heart clenched, and she instinctively replied,

"No, I don’t..."
