Chapter 674: Chapter 674: Signing The Contract Again
In her previous life, when he had asked her the question, she had replied with a ’yes’. In the end, she regretted it.
In this lifetime, she will make sure never to say yes.
She doesn’t want to lose her dignity.
Yu Shuchang’s grip loosened and he distanced himself from her.
"Oh? Then I am sorry for misinterpreting your action."
Sheng Yin’s heart skipped a beat, for a moment she felt as if she should tell the truth.
’What if the outcome was different this time?’
Just as she opened her mouth, Yu Shuchang spoke,
"I remember our relationship was based on a contract. Due to the fire, the contract which I had placed, might get burnt so, we will have to sign the contract again."
Sheng Yin’s heart turned cold.
"Alright."
The distant sound of sirens grew louder as Sheng Yin and Yu Shuchang sat on the pavement, catching their breath.
Within moments, fire trucks arrived, and firefighters jumped into action, dousing the flames with powerful jets of water.
The roaring fire was brought under control within minutes, leaving only charred remains of the building and thick smoke rising into the night sky.
One firefighter approached the duo, his face stern but kind.
"Are you two alright? Did anyone else get trapped inside?"
Yu Shuchang shook his head.
"No, it was just the two of us. We’re fine, thank you."
The firefighter frowned, looking at the burnt building.
"What happened here?"
Yu Shuchang put on a composed expression, his voice steady.
"It was a small fire at first. I think it started because of a cigarette left burning by me. I tried to put it out, but it spread too quickly. I... I barely got out in time."
Sheng Yin listened silently, her heart heavy.
The firefighters nodded, writing down the details as Yu Shuchang provided them with a calm demeanor.
"We’ll need a detailed report," the firefighter said.
"But for now, it’s good to see you both safe. You’re lucky it didn’t turn out worse."
Yu Shuchang gave a faint smile.
"Thank you for your hard work. We’ll cooperate fully with the investigation."
After the firefighters finished securing the area, Yu Shuchang guided Sheng Yin away.
They got into his car and drove silently to her home. Once he dropped her, he returned to his own villa.
The next morning, Sheng Yin woke up to the sound of her phone buzzing nonstop. She groggily picked it up, only to see countless notifications flooding her screen.Social media was exploding with news about Yu Shuchang.
Yu Shuchang had posted a detailed report on his official account, including video evidence, emails, and other documents proving that several actors and actresses had conspired to defame him.
He had filed a legal case against them, demanding justice for the damage to his reputation.
His post read:
**"To all my fans and supporters,
I have stayed silent for too long, but enough is enough. Last night’s incident gave me clarity. I will not let lies and slander ruin the career I have worked so hard to build.
Here is the truth, with evidence to back it up. I have filed a case against those who spread false rumors and defamed me.
As for those who tried to misuse women’s rights I will make sure to ask my lawyer to send them a legal notice soon. Justice will prevail.
Thank you to those who stood by me. Your support means everything."**
The comment section was flooded with reactions:
"I can’t believe those people tried to ruin you! You’re such a hardworking actor, and they’re just jealous of your success. Stay strong, Shuchang!"
"Assistant Li Fang and former assistant Zhao Rui need to be sued immediately! They deliberately framed you and fed lies to the media. How disgusting!"
"I’m so sorry for doubting you, Yu Shuchang. I believed the rumors, and now I feel terrible. Please forgive me. I’ll support you forever from now on!"
"Everyone who defamed him deserves to be blacklisted! We won’t let this slide. Justice for Yu Shuchang!"
"To think Zhao Rui, someone who worked so closely with you, would betray you like that! She deserves every punishment coming her way."
The apologies kept pouring in. Fans who had doubted him before were now rallying behind him, expressing their regret and promising to stand by him. Some even organized online campaigns to boycott the actors and actresses who had wronged him.
Meanwhile, Sheng Yin scrolled through the comments, feeling no surprise. Yu Shuchang had dealt with the problem very quickly this time.
Her phone buzzed again, breaking her thoughts.
It was a message from Yu Shuchang, asking her to meet at 5 pm to sign the contract again.
Her fingers hovered over the screen for a moment before she typed out a simple reply: "Alright, see you then."
Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Yu Shuchang sat in a spacious studio, drafting the contract.
The studio was filled with papers, contracts, and his laptop, where he typed out the terms with a calm expression.
Just then, the studio’s security guard called, informing him that Assistant Li Fang and Zhao Rui were there to see him.
Yu Shuchang raised an eyebrow. He had been expecting something like this. His calm demeanor never wavered as he instructed the guard to let them in.
A moment later, the door opened, and in walked Li Fang and Zhao Rui.
They looked tense, and there was a coldness in their eyes as they stared at him.
Li Fang didn’t waste any time. She immediately spoke up.
"Yu Shuchang, did you know about our plan from the beginning? Were you in on it?" she demanded, her voice sharp.
Yu Shuchang simply nodded, his expression still calm.
"Yes, I knew."
Li Fang muttered under her breath, clearly not expecting him to admit it so easily.
She looked at Zhao Rui, who was standing by her side, and then back at Yu Shuchang.
"No wonder. You had all the proof."
Yu Shuchang didn’t respond immediately.
Instead, he just stared at her, waiting for her next move. He could see the panic slowly starting to creep into her eyes.
Li Fang wasn’t done yet.
"Listen," she said, her voice dropping to a more serious tone.
"If you withdraw the lawsuit against me, I’ll tell you the true name of the mastermind. The person who pulled all the strings behind this. But you have to let me go. I’ll leave China, and you’ll never hear from me again."
Yu Shuchang chuckled lightly, a humorless laugh.
"Wasn’t it Yu Mei?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Both Li Fang and Zhao Rui froze, their eyes widening in shock. Zhao Rui even blurted out,
"How did you know?"
Yu Shuchang just chuckled again, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"I’ve known all along. You really thought you could get away with it?"
Li Fang, clearly frustrated, elbowed Zhao Rui, muttering under her breath. "Idiot."
Trying to regain control of the situation, Li Fang said,
"Fine. If you don’t want the mastermind’s name, then pay me 100,000 yuan, and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll disappear from your life, just like that."
Zhao Rui immediately nodded, repeating the demand.
"Yes, that’s right. Pay us, and we’ll be out of your life for good."
Yu Shuchang looked at them both, still unfazed.
Then, with a mischievous grin, he calmly replied,
"Why don’t you check my Weibo?"
Li Fang and Zhao Rui exchanged confused glances, and just as they were about to speak, Yu Shuchang pressed a button on his phone.
The screen lit up, revealing that he was live-streaming their entire conversation.
He had been recording them the whole time.
The two women’s faces turned pale as they realized what had happened.
They quickly turned to leave, but before they could take another step, the door to the studio opened again, and a couple of police officers entered.
Without a word, they moved swiftly to grab Li Fang and Zhao Rui, pulling them away.
Yu Shuchang sat back in his chair, his expression unchanged.
He calmly turned the camera toward himself, his voice steady but full of authority.
"Citizens of China," he began, speaking directly into the live stream.
"I know there are a lot of rumors online, and I want to make it clear that none of it is true. Don’t believe everything you read.
And to those who have been bullying my younger sister, Yu Holea, I ask that you stop. She’s innocent, and she doesn’t deserve this."
The live stream chat exploded with comments, with people showing their support for Yu Shuchang and his family.
Many began to apologize to Yu Holea, realizing how wrong they had been to believe the rumors.
They rushed to her profiles on social media, flooding her comments with apologies and messages of support.
The cafe was quiet, with only the sound of clinking cups and soft chatter filling the air. It was a peaceful place, perfect for signing a contract.
Sheng Yin sat across from Yu Shuchang, her hands resting on the table as she looked over the document in front of her.
