Chapter 645: Scammer?

Chapter 645: Chapter 645: Scammer?

Yu Holea smiled faintly and shook her head.

"It’s alright, Mr. Nan. I understand. But perhaps it would be good if Assistant Su reviews the company policies again."

Assistant Su’s face turned red with embarrassment. She lowered her head, unable to meet Yu Holea’s gaze.

"I’m sorry," she mumbled. "I didn’t mean to be rude."

Nan Kelin sighed and rubbed his temple.

"Su, you need to understand something. Bright Star doesn’t tolerate this kind of behavior. If Miss Yu decides to report this, the company will investigate, and you know what that means."

At this, Assistant Su’s face went from red to white. Her voice trembled as she said,

"Miss Yu, please don’t report me. I... I wasn’t thinking clearly. I promise it won’t happen again!"

Yu Holea tilted her head slightly, her gaze thoughtful.

After a moment, she said,

"I don’t intend to make a big deal out of this. But I hope you’ve learned something today. Respect is important, no matter who you’re dealing with."

Assistant Su nodded quickly, her head bobbing like a frightened bird.

"Yes, yes, I understand. Thank you for your kindness, Miss Yu."

Nan Kelin looked at Yu Holea with gratitude in his eyes.

"Thank you for being so understanding. And again, I’m truly sorry for what happened."

Yu Holea gave him a small, polite smile.

"There’s no need to apologize anymore."

Then she asked with a curious expression,

"Mr. Nan, do you want me to read your future?"

Nan Kelin blinked in surprise, unsure if he had heard Yu Holea correctly.

"Read my future?" he repeated, his voice laced with curiosity.

Yu Holea nodded, her expression calm but friendly.

"Yes. I have a special ability that allows me to see glimpses of someone’s fate. It’s not perfect, but it might help you understand what’s happening."

Nan Kelin hesitated, his eyes darting to Assistant Su, who looked equally stunned.

"You mean... like fortune-telling?" he asked, unsure if she was serious.

Yu Holea smiled faintly.

"You could call it that. But it’s more like reading the energy around you. I noticed earlier that something feels off, and I thought maybe I could help."

Assistant Su who had been silent till now, suddenly said,

"Miss Yu, you don’t need to..."

Nan Kelin’s shoulders slumped slightly.

He looked tired like he had been carrying a heavy burden for too long.

Finally, he nodded.

"Alright, Miss Yu. If you think it’ll help, I’d like to know."

"Kelin..." Assistant Su called wanting to stop Nan Kelin, however, Nan Kelin motioned her to stop.

Yu Holea stepped closer, her gaze steady but kind.

"Please take a seat and relax. This won’t take long."

Nan Kelin sat down on the couch, his posture stiff at first, but he slowly tried to relax.

Yu Holea raised her hand, her eyes narrowing as she focused on the dark energy surrounding him.

A faint golden glow appeared around her hand as she concentrated, her expression serious.

The swirling black energy around Nan Kelin became more visible, like a thick fog clinging to him.

From Assistant Su’s perspective, there was nothing going and she asked, "Are you sure that it’s even working? Can you even see anything?"

Yu Holea didn’t answer immediately. She studied the energy carefully, her voice calm when she finally spoke.

"This isn’t natural. Someone has tampered with your luck, Mr. Nan. They’ve stolen the good fortune that should be yours and left you with this dark energy."

Nan Kelin’s eyes widened in shock.

"What do you mean? How can someone steal my luck?"

Yu Holea lowered her hand and looked at Nan Kelin seriously. "Luck isn’t just some random thing," she explained, her voice calm but firm. "It’s like an energy that flows around people. Some have more of it, some less. But in your case, someone deliberately took what was yours and replaced it with bad energy."

Nan Kelin leaned forward, his eyes filled with disbelief. "How is that even possible? Who could do something like that?"

Yu Holea’s expression softened slightly.

"There are people who know how to manipulate energy—people who use it for their own selfish gain.

They can transfer someone’s luck to themselves or someone else. It’s not easy to do, but clearly, someone saw you as a target."

Assistant Su frowned, crossing her arms.

"This sounds ridiculous! How can you prove any of this?"

Yu Holea glanced at her, unfazed by the skepticism.

"You may not see it, but the signs are all there. Mr. Nan’s sudden streak of bad luck, the way his energy feels so heavy—these aren’t coincidences."

Nan Kelin rubbed his temples, trying to process everything.

"But why me? I’ve always treated everyone fairly. I don’t understand why someone would do this to me."

Yu Holea’s eyes softened with understanding.

"Sometimes, it’s not about what you’ve done. It’s about who you are. You’re successful, talented, and respected. That makes some people jealous, and jealousy can drive them to do terrible things."

Nan Kelin sat back, his shoulders slumping.

"This is... a lot to take in. Can it be fixed? Is there any way to get my luck back?"

Yu Holea nodded.

"Yes, it can be reversed. But it won’t be easy. I’ll need to figure out who did this and undo their work.

Until then, you need to be careful. Avoid taking big risks or making important decisions. The bad energy around you will try to make things worse."

Assistant Su, who had been quiet until now, suddenly let out a loud laugh. The sound was sharp and unexpected, breaking the tense atmosphere in the room.

"Oh, this is rich!" she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I have to give it to you, Miss Yu. You really know how to put on a show."

Yu Holea raised an eyebrow but remained calm, her gaze steady.

"I’m not trying to entertain anyone, Assistant Su," she said softly.

But Su wasn’t done. She smirked and crossed her arms, her tone mocking.

"Oh no, you’re doing the right thing by being in the entertainment industry. Acting suits you perfectly!

The whole ’fortune-telling’ thing? Brilliant! You could star in a drama about con artists, and no one would guess you weren’t playing a role."

Nan Kelin frowned, his eyes narrowing.

"That’s enough, Su," he said firmly. "Miss Yu is trying to help."

Su ignored him, turning her attention fully to Yu Holea.

"Let me guess, Miss Yu. Next, you’ll tell him there’s a special ritual that only you can perform to fix his so-called bad luck, right? And of course, it’ll cost money or require something ridiculous. Is that how it works?"

Yu Holea tilted her head slightly, her expression still calm but now tinged with pity.

"I don’t need much money or anything from Mr. Nan," she said evenly.

"I only offered to help because I could see he was struggling. Whether you believe me or not doesn’t change the truth."

Su scoffed.

"The truth? The truth is that you’re trying to scare him with superstitious nonsense. Luck-stealing? Dark energy? Come on. This is the 21st century, not some ancient fairy tale!"

Nan Kelin stood up abruptly, his face stern.

"Su, that’s enough," he said, his voice colder than before. "I won’t let you disrespect Miss Yu like this."

Su blinked, startled by his tone, but quickly recovered.

"Kelin, you can’t seriously be buying into this! She’s—"

However, Yu Holea ignored Assistant Su and turned to Nan Kelin,

"You can hire me for 10 million yuans. If you want I can also sell talismans to you."

Assistant Su burst into laughter, her voice echoing through the room like nails on a chalkboard. She clapped her hands together mockingly.

"There it is! See, Kelin? She’s showing her true colors now!" Su exclaimed, her tone full of fake amusement.

"Ten million yuan? Talismans? What a bargain! You should buy two—no, make it three! Who knows? Maybe they’ll come with a free magic wand!"

Yu Holea stood calm and unaffected, her expression neutral as she waited for Su’s outburst to subside.

Nan Kelin frowned deeply, his gaze shifting between Yu Holea and Su.

"Su, that’s enough. Shut up now!"

Su took a step closer to Nan, pointing a finger at Yu Holea as if she were presenting evidence in a courtroom.

"Kelin, are you seriously going to let this go on? She’s obviously trying to scam you! Ten million yuan, for what? A bunch of mumbo jumbo about luck and energy?"

She then turned to Yu Holea, her eyes flashing with anger.

"And you, Miss Yu, or whatever you call yourself, do you think we’re fools here? Trying to swindle money from Mr. Nan like this? I’m warning you right now—this isn’t going to end well for you."

Yu Holea raised an eyebrow but said nothing, her silence unnerving Su even more.

"Oh, so you think you’re untouchable?" Su sneered.

"Well, guess what? I’m reporting you to the higher-ups at Bright Star. You might be famous, but no one is above the company’s rules. Trying to con one of our top artists? Let’s see how they handle this!"
