Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 599: Proposal
Chapter 599: Chapter 599: Proposal
The woman’s composure crumbled further, her hands wringing together as she glanced desperately at the crowd.
"This is... I don’t need proof! Everyone here knows how these... these vixens take advantage of married men!"
"She is indeed not Director Gong’s wife." Mo Jiang’s slightly shrill voice attracted the attention of everyone. Mo Jiang lifted her phone and showed everyone the photo that she had found on Google.
"See! See! My god! Holea you were telling the truth!"
The staff hurriedly looked at Mo Jiang’s phone and once they were sure that Mo Jiang wasn’t lying, they started to cast dirty glances at the woman who by now collapsed on the ground.
With no other choice, she hurriedly hid her face and suddenly ran away.
As the woman stumbled away, covering her face, the crowd finally exhaled, glancing at one another in surprise and indignation.
Mo Jiang tucked her phone back into her pocket, looking directly at Yu Holea.
"Can you believe the nerve of that woman? Trying to pin such a dirty accusation on you." She shook her head, visibly disturbed.
Yu Holea gave a light laugh, shrugging her shoulders.
"It’s hardly surprising at this point. When people are desperate, they’ll resort to anything to get what they want."
Her calm words and serene smile seemed to ground the people around her as if reminding them that she wasn’t fazed by such cheap theatrics.
Just as Yu Holea finished speaking, another step of footsteps sounded.
Turning around they saw Director Gong entering the location and Yu Holea only had one thought,
"What more drama is remaining?"
With a bouquet of roses in hand and a haggard smile on his face, Director Gong made his way through the crowd and stopped directly in front of Yu Holea.
Without missing a beat, he dropped to one knee, holding the bouquet out toward her.
"Yu Holea," he said, voice dripping with feigned sincerity.
"I want to marry you. Let’s make it official."
Yu Holea was momentarily taken aback, her eyebrows shooting up in surprise.
She quickly regained her composure and crossed her arms, regarding him with a look of disbelief.
"Director Gong, are you not embarrassed?" she asked coolly.
"Proposing to your wife’s best friend’s daughter? Have you no shame?"
A smirk appeared on Director Gong’s face as he tried to make his expression look charming.
"Oh, come on, let’s drop the act, darling," he said, his tone patronizing. "We both know you’re my mistress."
A ripple of shock spread through the crowd. Yu Holea, however, didn’t miss a beat. She let out a soft chuckle.
"Why, exactly, would I be your mistress, Director Gong? I already have money, resources, and the respect of my family. What exactly do you think you could offer me?"
Were these the only cheap tricks Yu Mei could come up with?
Director Gong confidently adjusted his glasses, trying to look suave.
"Ah, but I know you’ve fallen for my... mature charm," he replied, a smug grin on his face.
That was all Mo Jiang and Ni Wulin needed to burst into laughter.
Mo Jiang clutched her stomach, tears forming in her eyes from the force of her amusement.
"Are you hearing yourself, Director Gong?" she said, struggling to breathe through her laughter.
"Take a good look at yourself in a mirror before you start talking about ’mature charm.’ You look more like... like a gigolo on his last dime."
Ni Wulin joined in.
"Mature charm? You’re nothing more than a washed-up director with a sleazy smile and a cheap suit."
They can’t watch their savior being dragged into the mud.
While Jung Xiao was making plans in her mind as to how to deal with Director Gong once he left.
Director Gong’s face contorted in anger, but he kept his attention on Yu Holea.
Determined to regain control, he put on a fake smile and held out the roses again, edging closer.
"Come now, darling, accept the flowers. After all, you’ve already slept with me."
As he spoke, his thoughts turned to the call he’d received just hours before from Ai Han.
She’d told him exactly what to do: show up, publicly propose to Yu Holea, and insinuate that she was his mistress.
At first, he’d resisted the idea—it seemed foolish and risky.
But Ai Han had pointed out that his career was in ruins after his divorce and the rumors of his infidelity, and if he managed to seduce Yu Holea, he could potentially use her connections with the Yu family to rebuild his reputation.
The black pill she had given him rested in his pocket, and she had assured him it would make Yu Holea far more "pliable" if she took it.
His scheming thoughts were interrupted by Yu Holea’s icy voice.
"I’m not your mistress, and I never will be," she said firmly. "And tonight, I’ll make sure the world sees who your real mistress is."
Director Gong’s face paled.
Was she going to upload the photos today?
Panic overtook him, and without thinking, he lunged toward Yu Holea, his hand reaching for the black pill in his pocket.
But Yu Holea saw his movement coming and, with a swift sidestep, easily dodged his attack.
Her expression was cold as she looked down at him.
The moment he stumbled, Mo Jiang, Jung Xiao, Ni Wulin, Director Ou, and several others sprang into action, restraining him.
Director Gong, now trapped, started shouting, calling Yu Holea every insult he could muster, his voice echoing in the room.
"Let go of me! You—" he snarled, glaring daggers at Yu Holea.
"You’re nothing but a lying b—! Admit it, you’re my mistress!"
But Yu Holea had already dialed the police, calmly explaining the situation over the phone while he continued his tirade.
As she finished the call, Director Gong’s eyes widened in terror.
He started thrashing against the grips of the staff, but they held him firmly in place.
Vivian, who had been watching from the sidelines, spoke up. She eyed Director Gong with a gleam in her eye.
"Director Gong," she said, smirking. "You said you have proof of this little ’affair’ of yours, didn’t you?"
Director Gong, sensing an opportunity to regain control, quickly nodded.
"That’s right! On my phone, I have photos of her—without a shred of clothing, as well as selfies of us together. It’s all there, every last bit of proof you need."
Vivian’s expression lit up with excitement, practically vibrating with glee at the prospect of exposing Yu Holea.
She stepped forward, ready to make a spectacle out of the so-called evidence.
"Then let’s see these photos!" she said, reaching for his phone.
Yu Holea watched coldly as Vivian retrieved the phone and began fumbling to unlock it, eager to show the crowd.
"Go on, Vivian," she said icily, her tone filled with disdain.
"Let’s see how far Director Gong has gone to humiliate himself with fake, photoshopped images."
She didn’t take any photos with Director Gong so the only possible explanation for her ’naked photos’ was...Director Gong had photoshopped them...
Director Gong’s confidence faltered, but he attempted to maintain his composure, sneering at Yu Holea.
"You’re the one pretending here, not me," he snapped. "Everyone will see the truth soon enough."
Just as Vivian unlocked the phone and found the folder, a hand reached over her shoulder and smoothly took the device away.
Vivian whipped around, enraged, only to come face to face with Sheng Yin, who stared back with an expression as cold as ice.
Without a word, Sheng Yin tapped through the phone, deleting the photos one by one.
"Sheng Yin!" Vivian shrieked, her face red with fury. "What you are doing here?"
"None of your business." Sheng Yin rolled her eyes.
Vivian wasn’t having any of it though.
With much difficulty, she was finally able to get some dirt on Yu Holea but even that was going to be deleted...how could she bear to stay calm?
"What do you think you’re doing? Protecting her because she’s your ’sister’? This just proves she’s guilty! Why would you delete the photos if she has nothing to hide?"
Sheng Yin met her gaze with a steely look, completely unfazed by Vivian’s outburst.
Vivian was so angry that she pushed Sheng Yin harshly and tried to scratch Sheng Yin’s face which Sheng Yin dodged easily.
Without hesitation, Sheng Yin raised her hand and delivered a sharp slap across Vivian’s face, her voice calm yet laced with authority.
"You need to keep quiet if you know what’s good for you."
The entire crowd watched in stunned silence as Vivian stumbled back, holding her cheek in shock. She glared at Sheng Yin, sputtering in outrage.
"You... you slapped me!"
Sheng Yin looked down at her, unimpressed.
"I did. Because unlike you, I don’t let lies spread about people I care about. And it’s pathetic that you’re so desperate to bring Yu Holea down."
"You! I will sue you! You don’t know who you slapped!"
