Qiao Jun’s heart sank.

This was going further than he’d ever intended.

The family’s intense loyalty to Yu Holea had created a powerful backlash he hadn’t expected.

He thought they’d pressure her to stay; instead, they were rallying around her and putting the pressure on him.

Desperate, he raised his hands, trying to reason with them.

"Listen, everyone, please. This isn’t about security or formality. I just... think we should give it some more time, that’s all.

A break is fine, but let’s not rush into any official documents or agreements. We might regret it later."

Mrs. Qiao shook her head, her eyes hard as she looked at him with disappointment.

"If you’ve thought this through, then why are you so afraid to make it official, Jun? An engagement is a promise. Breaking it without giving Lea some measure of protection is... cruel."

Qiao Jun’s face grew paler, and he turned back to Yu Holea.

’Holea why are you sitting calmly? Tell them you don’t need it!’

’Dear fiance nothing will go wrong. Just agree. Aunt Mila and Vivian are watching.’ Yu Holea thought.

It took Qiao Jun a lot of effort to stop himself from walking straight to Yu Holea and spanking her bottoms.

Truly he was never so enraged and helpless ever in his life.

If even at this point he didn’t understand what Yu Holea was trying to do then he was a fool.

"Alright." Suddenly Qiao Jun agreed which stunned everyone including Yu Holea. The next second Yu Holea heard Qiao Jun’s voice in her mind,

’Lea...baby...I am a very patient man. You can have the agreement and I will chase you properly this time. But don’t even try to go close to any of the men. You are already 19 and have to bear punishment you would hate to if you dare to cross my bottom line.’

Yu Holea smirked. She thought Qiao Jun was just scaring her.

After all, she had stayed with Qiao Jun for more than 4 years. She had a general idea of what he was like.

If future Yu Holea could converse with present Yu Holea, she would have disagreed.

At last with gritted teeth and hearing a lot of taunts, Qiao Jun signed the agreement.

Yu Holea put the agreement in her space and stood up to leave.

’Lea, meet me at your villa’s room.’

Now Qiao Jun understood that Yu Holea was truly angry with him.

If she stays with Qiao Li, then members of the Qiao family can very easily make sure Qiao Jun doesn’t stay near Yu Holea.

"Jun," Mrs. Qiao’s voice was firm, laced with disappointment.

"After what you’ve done today, it would be insensitive to expect her to be around you. You need time to reflect, and Holea needs space to heal from this betrayal."

"But... Mom, I—" Qiao Jun began, but Cai Bao cut him off with a sharp wave of her hand.

"No excuses, Jun," she said sternly.

"We all need to reassess your values and your actions. You’re lucky to have had someone as loyal as Holea by your side.

Now it’s time for her to receive the respect and space she deserves. You can stay in the guest villa until further notice."

Qiao Jun clenched his fists, his frustration bubbling beneath the surface.

He had severely underestimated both the Qiao family’s loyalty to Yu Holea and her determination to put him through this ordeal.

He felt cornered, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that she was more than a little pleased to see him squirm.

Through their telepathic link, he reached out to her once more.

’Holea... You’ve made your point. This has gone far enough. Please, just let’s put an end to this.’

Yu Holea sniffled convincingly, pulling away from Qiao Li with a slightly trembling smile.

"Thank you, Li. I’ll be fine as long as you’re with me." She shot Qiao Jun a brief, pointed glance before turning back to Qiao Li.

"Come on, Lea," Qiao Li said, placing a protective arm around her shoulder.

"Let’s go get settled. We’ll have a nice dinner together and watch some movies. Anything you want. Just... don’t think about him," she added, glaring over her shoulder at her brother.

Qiao Jun felt his frustration mounting, his mind racing for a way to reverse the damage. This was a disaster.

The whole plan had backfired so completely he could hardly believe it.

Now, his sister was shielding Yu Holea, his grandmother was disappointed in him, and his mother was effectively banishing him.

Can things get any worse?

Qiao Li brought Yu Holea into her room. They spent the entire day in her room. Since it was a day off for Yu Holea, Yu Holea fell asleep.

She was truly tired from all the work.

Qiao Li patted Yu Holea’s head and slowly stopped. A hint of guilt flashed in her eyes. She hurriedly exited the room and walked toward Qiao Jun’s room.

She knocked on the door and when the door was opened, Qiao Li pushed Qiao Jun inside and closed the door.

"Brother, how can you do this? How can you leave my best friend like this? Do you know how hurt Yu Holea was? Her eyes had turned puffy from crying."

"What?" Qiao Jun was shocked. His heart was filled with anxiety and he even started to wonder whether there was something that he didn’t know.

After all, he clearly told Yu Holea that it was all an act.

Yet Yu Holea was crying...

"Yes! Brother, please tell me what is going on? You don’t truly want to break off the engagement, right? You love her so much so why..."

Qiao Jun closed his eyes and slowly opened them, his heart calmed down a lot.

Just now he used his superpower memory, using which he was able to see what had happened, he was relieved to know that Yu Holea was completely fine.

She was even laughing.

His wifey was truly heartless!

Taking a deep breath he said in a calm voice,

"Don’t you remember? You told me that she still likes her first love, how can I bind her with me?"

"No brother! I was lying! Truly! You are Lea’s first love. Did you break up the engagement because of this reason? I am sorry.

Did you hear me? Come with me, take back your words..."

Qiao Li was filled with guilt. For the first time, she felt as if she was truly an idiot!

However Qiao Jun shook his head with a serious expression and slowly freed his hand from Qiao Li’s grip,

"No need. Now that I have broken the engagement, it’s for everyone’s benefit!"

"No!" Qiao Li shouted. When she thought of Yu Holea’s misery, she blamed herself.

Why? Why did she even say those words?

Stupid! She acted too stupidly. She wanted to make her brother and Yu Holea get together quickly by making her brother jealous but who would have thought that it would backfire?

Qiao Jun understood Qiao Li’s guilt. He wanted to tell Qiao Li that it was all an act but there were too many cameras.

Qiao Li blinked, trying to grasp his calmness amidst her panic. She shot him a suspicious look.

’You’re telling me you planned all this? And Holea knows?’

’Yes.’

’But why? Why are you pretending to break off the engagement? And why are you using telepathy in the first place?’ Qiao Li asked.

Qiao Jun explained everything to Qiao Li in few words and said,

’Also cameras has been installed in all the rooms of villa and act as if you are truly guilty.’

Qiao Li wanted to be angry after hearing Qiao Jun’s words but she did as Qiao Jun had asked her and left the room crying acting as if she was very guilty.
