Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 594: Runes
Chapter 594: Chapter 594: Runes
They’ll say she wanted the attention, that she’s not above creating fake scandals to boost her own image.
We’ll paint her as an ambitious, ruthless opportunist. With the right coverage, public opinion will be so poisoned that even if the video does surface, no one will believe it’s real."
Ai Han breathed out a small, shaky laugh, as though grasping onto the plan like a lifeline.
"That’s brilliant. I’ll go to Zhang Meilin immediately, and if she refuses, we’ll proceed with the new angle."
"Just remember," Yu Mei continued, her voice deadly calm, "this is your mess, and I won’t be cleaning it up a second time. You’re lucky I even agreed to help."
Ai Han’s tone shifted to one of genuine fear, her voice quiet and filled with gratitude.
"Thank you, Yu Mei. I’ll do whatever it takes to fix this. I won’t let you down."
"Good," Yu Mei said curtly.
She allowed herself a small, satisfied smile as she ended the call, her mind already moving ahead to other matters.
If Zhang Meilin wouldn’t accept the bribe or the threats, she might need to consider more drastic measures.
She could already envision a number of unsavory means to make Zhang Meilin see reason, should it come to that.
Yu Mei glanced at her phone and scrolled through her contacts, landing on the name of a private investigator she had used before.
A last resort, perhaps, but one worth keeping in her back pocket.
If Zhang Meilin still held onto that video by the end of the week, Yu Mei would arrange for a "break-in"—something to retrieve that file and erase any evidence of its existence.
"Come on then," she murmured to herself, a smile curving her lips.
"Let’s see if you’re clever enough to play this game, Yu Holea."
Yu Holea chuckled when she heard Yu Mei’s plan but her eyes radiated a cold light.
"Cleverness? My dear sister, from today onwards you will receive a proper response for your each attack. Let’s get even for the previous incident."
With a smile, Yu Holea closed her eyes and linked herself with her Blue squad. After assigning them the task, she closed the link and continued with her shooting as if nothing happened.
..............
Evening.
On the way to the home, Aunt Mila was uncharacteristically quiet. She was lost in her thoughts.
Vivian on the contrary kept on shouting,
"Mother that b*tch truly has become too smart! We need to do something. If we let her go this time she will look down on us even more!
Mother, how about this? I will hire some goons and..."
However, before Vivian could finish her words, Aunt Mila turned to Vivian with a cold look in her eyes,
"Vivian you should sleep."
"Huh? Mother..." Before Vivian could react Aunt Mila lightly but with force tapped on the neck and the next second Vivian fainted.
The atmosphere stilled for a minute.
Aunt Mila calmly ordered the driver who was unbothered by the entire scene,
"Draw the partition."
"Yes, madam."
Once the partition was drawn, Aunt Mila closed her eyes and chanted something.
Vivian’s body suddenly started to glow with the rune.
The chanting stopped, and a faint blue glow radiated from the runes that appeared over Vivian’s face and arms.
As the glow faded, Vivian’s eyelids fluttered open, and she blinked, eyes now sharp with an eerie calmness that was a stark contrast to her usual fire.
The softness in her gaze held a strange intelligence—a presence vastly different from Vivian’s typical brash demeanor.
Aunt Mila allowed herself a satisfied sigh. "Are you there?"
Vivian tilted her head, a faint smile on her lips. "Yes."
"Some things are never forgotten, and this ritual is our only hope in times like these." Her voice softened as she continued.
"Things have become... complicated. Yu Holea is proving to be more troublesome than expected."
Vivian—or rather, the presence occupying her body—nodded thoughtfully.
"She’s a greater threat than anticipated, I take it?"
Aunt Mila’s expression darkened.
"Yes. This goes beyond simple rivalry now. We may need to accelerate the plan."
A calm nod from ’Vivian’ followed, as if Aunt Mila’s words were merely affirmations of thoughts already circling in her mind.
"Have you arranged for Qiao Jun to finalize his engagement with Vivian?"
"Yes," Aunt Mila replied, a shadow of irritation in her voice.
"After breaking things off with Yu Holea, he’s been... reluctant. But I’ll speak to him tomorrow. He’ll do as he’s told."
’Vivian’ turned to face her with a look that held a hint of longing.
"Good," she murmured softly, the hint of an old ache buried beneath her calm facade.
"Once Qiao Jun marries into your family, I’ll be able to reach you fully."
Aunt Mila’s face softened, and her own eyes grew misty.
"I know. I’ve waited so long for this moment, for you to be with me... for you to finally be home."
Vivian—or rather, the spirit—reached for Aunt Mila’s hand, her fingers warm against the older woman’s cold grip.
"Don’t cry," she whispered gently, brushing her thumb over Aunt Mila’s hand. "We’re nearly there. And once this is all over, I’ll finally be with you."
Aunt Mila’s lip trembled, but she quickly composed herself,
"Thank you. You’ve given me the strength I need to do this."
Vivian’s eyes drifted closed, and Aunt Mila took a deep, steadying breath.
She resumed the ritual, chanting softly, her hands hovering over Vivian’s body as she closed the connection.
The runes faded slowly, leaving only the soft shadows of the car.
Vivian blinked and sat up, her usual fire flashing back in her eyes. She rubbed her neck, yawning slightly.
"What happened?" she murmured, her tone laced with grogginess.
Aunt Mila offered her a smile, the faintest trace of tears still glistening in her eyes.
"You fell asleep, dear. The day’s been long, hasn’t it?"
Vivian stretched, nodding absently.
"Yeah, I guess so. Must’ve been more tired than I thought." She glanced out the window, then back at her mother. "So... what’s the plan now?"
Aunt Mila’s smile became a little sharper.
"I’ve got it all figured out. We’ll feed those rumors about Yu Holea to the press, and let them take on a life of their own.
And if we can find someone willing to act as Director Gong’s wife, perhaps we’ll arrange for a confrontation. A little public outrage never hurt a plan."
Vivian’s lips curved into a grin as she imagined the chaos this would create.
"Ooh, that’s perfect! It’ll be just the thing to keep that snake Yu Holea in her place. I’ll reach out to some people I know in the industry.
I’m sure we can arrange a nice little scene for the press to devour."
"Exactly." Aunt Mila’s eyes sparkled.
"Once the story spreads, the public will be on our side. Yu Holea will have no choice but to retreat—she’ll be too busy managing the fallout to worry about anything else."
Vivian’s excitement bubbled over as she began considering the details.
"Maybe we could even bring in some fake ’friends’ of Director Gong to back up the story. They could say they’ve seen her with him at private parties, or that they’ve overheard things..."
"Be careful," Aunt Mila cautioned, though her approving smile showed she was pleased with her daughter’s enthusiasm.
"We need to make sure our sources are credible enough to withstand scrutiny. If any of this gets traced back to us..."
"Oh, I know, Mother," Vivian said dismissively.
"I’ll be discreet. Besides, with the way people love a good scandal, they’ll be more than eager to believe every word."
Aunt Mila nodded, reassured.
"Very well. Now, once the story has a foothold, we’ll sit back and let Yu Holea struggle to keep her reputation intact."
Vivian smirked, leaning back in her seat.
"And just in case, maybe we’ll toss a few extra accusations her way. She’s not exactly spotless in her past dealings. We can let a few of her ’mistakes’ come to light."
"Only as a last resort. Remember, we’re going for ruin, not a war we can’t control." Aunt Mila warned.
"Understood," Vivian replied, her eyes alight with a gleeful malice. "She won’t know what hit her."
Unbeknownst to them a black recording device was planted right beneath their seats.
Yu Holea smirked when she knew Vivian and Aunt Mila’s plan, but she was more concerned about what she had heard previously.
The way Vivian talked earlier...and the content of their conversation made Yu Holea feel uncomfortable.
Taking a deep breath she forwarded the recording to Qiao Jun and left the shooting location.
She had many things to prepare.
Qiao Jun will deliver the news of the broken engagement today and she will have to put up with the act.
Since Aunt Mila and Vivian are so anxious, it would be better to give them a gift.
Yu Holea soon reached her villa and explained a few more things to the blue squad before leaving.
’Time to put on the act.’
