Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 590: Competition
Chapter 590: Chapter 590: Competition
On her every birthday Qiao Heng would transfer her 1 billion yuan, while sometimes, he would transfer her shares of some branch companies, whose annual dividend would exceed 200 million yuan.
Then there was Qiao Jun.
That guy even though in a coma, ensured that she never lacked money.
Yu Holea even suspected that he knew that he was about to fall into a coma, and hence asked his subordinates to transfer money to her account regularly.
There was also her own company, as well as the haunted house business, from which she earned more than 900 million yuan annually.
This resulted in her making many bank accounts.
The one she was showing to Vivian was the one she used for charity.
However what she didn’t know was, that someone in the crowd looked at her with sparkling eyes after seeing the bank account details.
"Does it matter how I got it?" Yu Holea asked with a broad smile. She was prepared to make Vivian go bankrupt to the point that she would have to sell her underwear!
Vivian gritted her teeth, as she suddenly remembered that Yu Holea might have got the money from the Qiao Family.
Now she was even more determined to win back the money.
"No, it doesn’t. But I want to ensure that you don’t back out, once you lose." Vivian narrowed her eyes and said in a casual tone.
Yu Holea smiled.
Vivian was indeed arrogant. She didn’t even know what game Yu Holea was about to ask her to play, and yet she acted as if she would win for sure.
"Alright. To make things clear, let’s write a letter of guarantee."
Vivian’s mouth twisted into a smirk.
"Of course. We’ll make it official." She seemed unfazed, clearly not expecting Yu Holea to actually agree.
The two of them stood together at a small desk set up at the edge of the set, and the staff gathered around them with bated breath, unsure whether to intervene.
Vivians’ pride was set on finally bringing Yu Holea down, and Yu Holea, for her part, had no intention of backing down.
While they each wrote their names and terms of agreement, Director Ou approached, clearly uncomfortable.
"Ladies," he began gently, "this is quite a sum of money you’re talking about. Perhaps you might consider a less drastic approach. You’re both incredibly talented actresses; is this risk really necessary?"
Vivian scoffed, arms crossed defiantly. "Unless you’re willing to step in and put a stop to her constant provocations, Director, we’re going to settle this once and for all. Don’t you think it’s time someone taught her a lesson?"
Yu Holea shot Vivian a sharp glance. "And what lesson would that be? To back down and let bullies win? If you have an issue with me, then let’s see who truly deserves to be on this set. Fairly."
Director Ou rubbed the bridge of his nose, realizing there was no reasoning with them at this point. "Alright, I will judge the situation fairly. Let’s get this over with." He took the letters of guarantee, glancing at their terms one last time.
Vivian smirked, her eyes glinting with malice. "Great! Then we’ll compete in piano," she declared, her voice dripping with confidence.
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow,
"Is that so? You really think you can decide the game without consulting me first?" she replied, keeping her voice steady.
Vivian smirked,
"What? Are you afraid?"
"Fine, I’ll play," Yu Holea replied.
Since Vivian won’t stop until she sees the coffin, Yu Holea promised to accompany her till the end.
Vivian’s smirk widened, surprised that Yu Holea had agreed so readily. She waved over one of the staff members. "Get a piano ready! We’re about to have a real showdown."
As the staff scrambled to prepare the piano, some of them couldn’t help but whisper,
"Do you think she would be able to win against Vivian?"
"Of course not!"
"Vivian belongs to a rich family where the piano is one of the arts that has been taught since their childhood."
"God, this Yu Holea is done for. She should have apologized and accepted that she slept with Director Gong."
Once the piano was set up, Vivian took her place at the keys, her fingers hovering momentarily before she began to play a famous piece: Beethoven’s "Moonlight Sonata."
The notes poured from her fingers with a fluid grace that captivated everyone present. Each chord resonated through the air, the melody haunting yet beautiful.
The staff and actors alike were mesmerized, some even whispering praises under their breath. "Wow, she’s incredible!" one crew member exclaimed. "I had no idea she was this talented."
As she finished, the final notes lingering in the air, applause erupted around her. She stood, taking a dramatic bow, a smug smile plastered across her face. She looked over at Yu Holea, her expression triumphant. She expected Yu Holea to accept her defeat right away, but Yu Holea only smiled
She had always enjoyed music, although she had never received formal training.
However, she was sure she could play much better than Vivian.
Yu Holea walked past Vivian and sat on the chair.
She took a deep breath and began to play an original composition she had written during her spare time.
The air in the room shifted as Yu Holea’s fingers glided across the keys, and the familiar melody filled the space. Each note was clear, each phrase flowing effortlessly into the next, her fingers moving with elegance.
The audience was mesmerized. Even Vivian’s haughty expression faltered as she recognized the piece and the skill with which it was being played. Yu Holea seemed lost in the music, her posture relaxed, as though she were performing not for an audience, but for herself.
When she finished, a stunned silence fell over the set. It took a moment for the applause to start, but when it did, it was thunderous. Some of the staff members whispered among themselves, exchanging glances of astonishment. Director Ou himself looked impressed, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Vivian’s face was a study in shock, her mouth open, eyes wide with disbelief. She hadn’t expected this. Not from Yu Holea, whom she’d assumed was nothing more than a village girl.
Yu Holea rose from the piano, giving a small bow to the audience before she turned back to face Vivian.
"You were saying, Vivian?" Yu Holea’s tone was polite, but the implication was clear. She hadn’t needed to resort to name-calling or insults. The music alone had been her response.
Vivian’s face turned red, her hands clenched tightly at her sides. She struggled to form words, but the humiliation was evident. "That... was luck," she stammered, the defiance in her tone falling flat. "It doesn’t prove anything."
"Luck?" Yu Holea raised an eyebrow. "A talent cultivated through years of practice is hardly luck." She paused, giving Vivian a once-over. "Perhaps you underestimated me."
Vivian’s mouth twisted into a scowl, but before she could retort, one of the crew members, Hu Song, stepped forward, clapping his hands in admiration. "Bravo, Yu Holea! That was a masterful performance," he said, voicing what the others were clearly thinking.
Vivian gritted her teeth, forcing a smile as she turned to Director Ou. "This isn’t over," she hissed, her pride refusing to accept defeat. But her bravado had lost its edge.
Director Ou approached, still holding the letter of agreement. "Well, the terms were clear," he said, glancing at the letter. "Vivian, you agreed to transfer the funds if you lost."
Vivian’s expression changed.
Vivian’s face turned crimson. She looked around at the crew, their expectant faces watching, waiting for her to honor the agreement.
Her mouth twisted as she searched for a way out.
"I... I don’t have to do this," she stammered, her voice wavering as she glanced at Director Ou.
"This whole thing was—was unfair! She probably... cheated somehow!"
Someone in the crowd muttered,
"Cheated? How do you cheat at a piano performance?"
Director Ou sighed, glancing at the letter of agreement.
"Vivian, you agreed to the terms. If you back out now, you’ll lose all credibility. Is that really what you want?"
Vivian shot him a sharp look, unwilling to admit defeat.
"Maybe it was a fluke. Or maybe she’s just lucky this time."
Hu Song folded his arms, his tone light but mocking.
"Luck? A performance like that doesn’t come from luck. Face it, Vivian, you lost. Fair and square."
Another staff member joined in, chuckling.
"I guess the ’rich family piano lessons’ didn’t pay off this time, huh?"
Vivian’s hands clenched, her nails digging into her palms as she felt the mocking stares of the crowd. She forced a strained smile.
"I don’t care what you all think," she snapped, her voice barely hiding her frustration. "I’m not giving her a single yuan."
Yu Holea watched her, an amused smile playing on her lips.
"So, all that talk about teaching me a lesson was just talk, after all?"
