Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All
Chapter 548: Goodbye Kiss

Chapter 548: Chapter 548: Goodbye Kiss

After a long moment, Mr. Ye pulled back slightly, still keeping a hand on his son’s shoulder as if afraid to let him go again.

"Okay, Little Ye," he said, his voice steadier now, "how about that story?"

Little Ye’s eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly, sitting down beside his father, curling up like he used to when he was alive.

Mr. Ye cleared his throat, trying to hold back more tears as he began the story.

"Once upon a time," he started softly.

As Mr. Ye’s deep voice filled the room, Little Ye listened intently, his face calm.

Towards the end of the story, Little Ye’s form starts to fade a bit.

Mr. Ye paused. He could hardly contain the tears in his eyes.

Yu Holea looked away.

She had exorcised too many ghosts...but she had hardly ever seen a cute and innocent ghost as Little Ye.

He seemed like a malicious ghost at first but in reality...he was just a boy with unfulfilled wishes.

As compared to other ghost who are evil in nature and either wants to attack humans to take revenge or be reincarnated...Little Ye only stayed in the villa to fulfill his last wishes.

She couldn’t bear to see him fade away.

Because once the story ends...Little Ye will leave too.

Mr. Ye clenched his fist and deliberately slowed down his pace but even then he could only drag the story for 30 more minutes.

By now Little Ye was almost transparent. He had a happy smile and a content expression on his face.

He leaned toward Mrs. Ye and kissed his cheeks,

"Thank you, dad!"

Then he hurriedly stood up and walked toward Yu Holea. Tugging on her clothes, he asked her to bend down.

Once Yu Holea did, Little Ye kissed her cheeks and said softly,

"Thank you so much for fulfilling my wishes...angel. I wish I could have a mother like you in my next life."

Whoosh.

The moment Little Ye finished his words, his form shimmered and dissolved into a soft, warm light.

The light hovered around Yu Holea for a brief second, like a gentle breeze brushing against her face, before dispersing into the air and fading away completely.

Yu Holea stood frozen for a moment, her heart heavy with both sadness and relief.

Little Ye had finally found peace.

Taking a deep breath, Yu Holea turned toward Mr. Ye and said,

"The case is closed. The ghost has been exorcised."

Mr. Ye nodded with a heavy heart,

"Thank you for materializing Little Ye..."

Yu Holea interrupted him,

"Don’t thank me soon. I have a bad news for you."

Mr. Ye frowned in confusion and motioned Yu Holea to speak.

"The case is closed but from the perspective of a special officer I have found few clues which indicate that Little Ye was murdered by your wife."

"What? Miss Yu mind your words. You can eat whatever you want but can’t speak whatever you like!" Mr. Ye said sternly.

"I am telling the truth." Yu Holea stated and turned toward Mrs. Ye who now panicked and kept on trying to argue.

"Your wife... used to play hide and seek with your son. And each time she would either lock him in a storage room or refrigerator so he could ’hide’ properly."

Mr. Ye’s eyes widened and a few signs that he had ignored earlier flashed in his mind.

Suddenly Mrs. Ye regained the power to speak and shouted,

"Lie! You are a liar! I will never do something like that to my son!"

"I am telling the truth. He loved playing hide and seek with you, but he was too young to understand that locking him in confined spaces, like the refrigerator, wasn’t a game.

You pushed him too far that last time. He suffocated."

Mr. Ye’s hands trembled, and his breath came in ragged gasps.

"That... That can’t be true. You—" He looked at his wife with horror. "Tell me it’s not true!"

Mrs. Ye’s eyes darted wildly, searching for a way out.

"I... I just wanted him to be strong! He was always so weak, so quiet. He needed to learn how to survive!"

"Lie." Yu Holea shouted. "You just didn’t want him to go close to his father because he wasn’t born from your womb."

Anger appeared in Yu Holea’s eyes when she thought about how a little boy had to endure so much torture just because Mrs. Ye was dissatisfied with the existence of the child.

The moment Yu Holea entered the villa and saw Mrs. Ye’s face she understood everything.

In the reports collected by her ghost, Yu Holea came to know that Mrs. Ye could never become a mother and hence she and her husband tried to get a surrogate.

They decided to go for a gestational surrogate.

When the child was born, Mrs. Ye was happy.

However, this changed when she saw Mr. Ye’s affectionate gaze towards the child.

A sense of insecurity appeared in her heart.

From that day onwards she kept trying to keep a distance between Mr. Ye and little Ye. It didn’t reach the point where she started to torture Little Ye but she indeed started to give cold shoulders to him.

One day everything changed though. When Mrs. Ye saw her husband with the surrogate, she started to suspect that the child was Mr. Ye and the surrogate’s not hers.

She did a DNA test and found out that Little Ye was indeed not her child.

Yu Holea told the entire truth and turned towards Mrs. Ye.

"That’s when it all started, isn’t it?" Yu Holea said, her voice cutting through the silence.

"The resentment. The cruelty. You couldn’t stand the thought of Little Ye being a constant reminder of a betrayal you never saw coming."

Mrs. Ye’s breath came in short, erratic bursts.

"I... I didn’t know how to handle it," she whispered, her voice filled with bitterness.

"He wasn’t mine. He wasn’t my son, and every time I looked at him, I saw that woman. I saw the life that should’ve been mine."

Her world shattered that day.

She had felt betrayed, lied to, and insignificant.

Mr. Ye staggered back, his face white with shock.

"Why... why didn’t you tell me?" he choked out. "I had no idea. You—"

"You had no idea?" Mrs. Ye laughed bitterly.

"Of course, you didn’t. You were too busy fawning over that boy. You didn’t even notice me anymore. All you cared about was him."

"So you punished him. Not because he did anything wrong, but because you couldn’t handle your own jealousy and bitterness." Yu Holea gritted her teeth.

Mrs. Ye laughed hysterically,

"So what? What could I have done? Would you stay calm if such news was ever released to you? You are not in my position! You don’t know what all I suffered. You don’t understand me!"

"Of course, I can never understand. The moment I found that my husband cheated on me in such a manner, I would gather proof of his cheating, report it to the court, report it to the media, get a divorce, and let him raise his child." Yu Holea said word by word.

"Easy to say!" Mrs. Ye shouted. "But can you forget someone whom you loved for the past 20 years?"

Yu Holea chuckled bitterly,

"I can. The moment I know my partner is cheating on me...I will leave him. Not because I won’t feel pain later, but I know for sure, that I can never be happy with him ever again.

I can. Because my self-esteem won’t allow me to stay with someone who cheated on me.

I can. Because I don’t want to hurt an innocent child just because I am angry.

I can. Because I will accept that my eyes weren’t capable of finding the right person."

She knew in her heart that if Qiao Jun ever cheated on her...she would never hesitate to leave him, just like how she left the Yu Family when she felt they didn’t love her.

Mrs. Ye lowered her head and couldn’t utter a single word. She knew Yu Holea was telling the truth.

But...she didn’t want to accept it.

Especially when...she remembered how she used to lock Little Ye in refrigerator for a long time...and how she refrained Mr. Ye from meeting Little Ye.

Mr. Ye was so angry that he stood up to slap Mrs. Ye.

Yu Holea stopped him,

"Do you think you are innocent?" Yu Holea’s voice was sharp, cutting through the tense air like a knife.

Mr. Ye froze mid-motion, his hand trembling as it hovered just inches away from Mrs. Ye’s face.

He turned to Yu Holea, confusion and guilt flashing in his eyes.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.

"You weren’t blind, Mr. Ye. You saw the signs. The coldness, the distance between Little Ye and your wife. You ignored them because it was easier to pretend everything was fine, wasn’t it?" Yu Holea pointed it out.
