Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 506: Dangerous Blind Loyalty
Chapter 506: Chapter 506: Dangerous Blind Loyalty
The other candidates looked at each other, faces pale and drained of hope. One by one, they reluctantly agreed, knowing they had no other choice.
"Alright, we agree," the Swan-masked woman finally said, her voice barely a whisper.
"Good." Yu Holea’s smile was serene but there was a glint in her eyes that suggested satisfaction.
"Remember, this is your last chance. Fail to reform, and you will be expelled permanently from the goddess city."
The candidates nodded silently, their spirits crushed.
During this time, Sister Phoenix remained silent.
Yu Holea ignored her and motioned the other candidates to follow her.
Once outside the Justice hall, Yu Holea said,
"From now on you all will run 10 rounds of Justice Hall in the morning and before going to bed you will have to again run 10 laps..."
"No! That is too much!" The cat-masked woman instantly disagreed.
"Indeed this is too much. As compared to packing bags, running 20 laps in a day is too difficult. But don’t worry the choice is still yours." Yu Holea said gently, however the cat-masked woman had goosebumps.
The cat-masked woman shut her mouth.
"Okay. Let’s test whether you all are sincere or not. For this, I request all the candidates to pack all of their essential and important items into their bags and reach the Justice Hall within 10 minutes. The first person to arrive will only have to run 18 laps, and the last person to arrive will have to run 22 laps every day."
"You are being unfair!" The pigeon masked woman shouted.
However, before she could finish her words, other candidates ran away.
They didn’t care whether Yu Holea was being fair or not.
They only cared about not being the last.
20 laps were still okay. 22 was too much!
Even Sister Phoenix ran away.
Yu Holea watched as the candidates dispersed, heading to their quarters to pack their bags.
As she walked back to her office, Lira fell into step beside her.
"You handled that well, my lady," she said with a hint of admiration in her voice.
Who would have thought in just 3 years their lady would become so capable that she would be able to control those mighty candidates?
"Thank you, Lira," Yu Holea replied.
She wasn’t proud.
Instead, she was worried.
With each passing moment, these candidates were becoming more and more corrupt.
If she wants to stop their corruption, she will have to become more proactive.
Once inside the justice hall, Yu Holea started to work.
What to do...she was the only sane candidate that was left. Of course, she will have to do all the work.
Though the benefits given by the goddess were very good, she couldn’t bring herself to like the job!
When she wanted to quit, the goddess didn’t give her the chance to resign and went away. God knows where the goddess was.
Sister phoenix was the first one to return.
She had a triumphant look on her face when she realized that she was first.
Hehe! She will only have to run 18 laps!
Yu Holea shook her head helplessly.
See how much Sister Phoenix’s IQ has dropped. She still has not realized that subconsciously she is just focusing on avoiding 22 laps.
As the other candidates started trickling in, each one looked more exhausted and anxious than the last.
Yu Holea calmly waited for everyone to return.
When all the candidates had finally returned, Yu Holea stood before them. "You all made it back within the time limit," she began.
"However, you came last so you will have to run 22 laps." She said to the cat-masked woman.
The cat-masked woman’s face turned pale and she shouted,
"No! I won’t! I won’t run 22 laps! That is too much! I fell down and hence I was so late!" The cat-masked woman argued.
Yu Holea chuckled,
"Don’t lie. If you lie one more time you will have to run one extra lap."
"I am not lying!" The cat-masked woman argued.
"Fine, 23." Yu Holea said calmly.
"No!"
"24." Yu Holea continued.
The cat-masked woman shut her mouth with a resentful expression. If she continued to argue, god knows how exhausted she will become later!
Yu Holea curled her lips in satisfaction,
"Okay, from now on whenever someone lied, I will add 2 extra laps to their punishment. I hate it when people talk nonsense or try to cause chaos unnecessarily so if anyone dares to lie or argue without reason, I will add 3 laps to their daily quota."
The candidates exchanged nervous glances, realizing Yu Holea wasn’t going to tolerate any excuses.
While few gritted their teeth, few dreamt of the day Yu Holea stopped punishing them and taking their revenge.
"Also from tomorrow onwards, everyone should be present in the Justice hall on time. Whoever comes late will have additional laps added to their daily quota.
I don’t entertain any fights. If anyone dared to fight, I would throw them to meditate under the waterfall.
No more schemes. Whoever dares to scheme against other candidates, will disqualified immediately.
Also no more meat, fish, or beef."
The last sentence ignited the fury in the candidates.
The cat-masked woman shouted,
"You can’t do! Meat is a must..."
Yu Holea chuckled,
"Either listen to me or leave."
The cat-masked woman was angered,
"Hey listen! You have to punish us not show you dictatorship qualities! How can you restrict us from eating meat?"
Yu Holea raised her hand to silence the cat-masked woman.
"This isn’t about dictatorship," she said, her tone firm.
"It’s about discipline and control. You all need to learn self-restraint and focus on bettering yourselves."
Excessive consumption of meat can lead to aggression and lack of discipline. The candidates need to purify their bodies and minds.
Yu Holea continued,
"You’ll have a balanced diet, enough to sustain you and provide necessary nutrients. Consider it part of your reformation."
The candidates grumbled among themselves but didn’t voice any more objections. They understood Yu Holea wasn’t going to change her mind.
With the rules set, Yu Holea dismissed the candidates, instructing them to return for their evening laps.
"Now all the candidates can leave, but their assistant and knights will stay."
"Why?" Sister Phoenix instantly became wary.
"Because I asked to." Yu Holea said calmly.
Sister Phoenix gritted her teeth and said,
"I am not ready to leave my assistant and knight to you. God knows what you will do to them."
Yu Holea didn’t want to hear her bullsh*t and took out a golden crown-shaped badge.
"Impossible!" She shouted.
"How do you have the authority badge?"
The Authority badge allows Yu Holea to command whomever she wants to, other than the candidates.
"I guess because I am much more pleasing to the goddess’s eyes and hence she gave it to me? Anyways, I again request all the assistants and knights to stay while the candidates step out of the justice hall for the time being."
"I disagree..." Just as Sister Phoenix was about to use the fact that the authority badge can’t control them Yu Holea reminded her calmly,
"I am controlling you using the power I hold, while for your assistants and knight, I am using the authority badge. So you have to listen to me."
The cat-masked woman clenched her fists, but she knew that continuing to argue would only make things worse for her.
The other candidates exchanged worried glances before slowly filing out of the Justice Hall, leaving their assistants and knights behind as instructed.
Once the candidates were gone, Yu Holea turned her attention to the remaining assistants and knights.
"I have summoned you here for a reason," she began.
"Your charges have become increasingly corrupt, and I need your help to ensure they reform properly."
The assistants and knights stood at attention, listening intently.
"I will be assigning each of you specific tasks to monitor and report on the candidates’ behavior.
Your observations will help me tailor their reform process more effectively. Any signs of rebellion, scheming, or rule-breaking must be reported immediately. Do I make myself clear?"
The expression on the knight and assistant’s faces turned hesitant.
What to do?
They were taught since childhood that they have to be loyal to their lady only and don’t have to listen to anyone else.
But they were also taught that the authority badge was the most powerful badge and they needed to listen to the person who held the badge anyhow.
However, at the same time, they have some emotional attachment with the lady they are serving how could they betray their lady?
Sensing their hesitation, Yu Holea persuaded them,
"If you back out now you will never be able to cure your master. They have become corrupt and it is a matter of time before they will become completely irredeemable.
Your loyalty to them should extend beyond blind obedience; it should include helping them become better individuals. Blind loyalty is dangerous.
