Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All
Chapter 497: Locked Memories?

Chapter 497: Chapter 497: Locked Memories?

"Why not?" Lira asked, her voice breaking. "Isn’t there any way to unlock her memories? To see what could have caused this?"

The goddess shook her head again, her expression somber.

"Yu Holea’s past is shrouded in powerful magic. It’s sealed away, likely to protect something—perhaps even her. Forcing it open could destroy her mind completely."

When she first found Yu Holea, she too tried to look into Yu Holea’s past, but other than her previous life’s memory, she wasn’t able to see her other past lives.

It was clear that Yu Holea had lived more than 2 lives. But strangely...she, the supreme goddess, wasn’t able to look at Yu Holea’s past and future at all.

Except for some small future insights, the goddess could absolutely not see Yu Holea’s future.

What was even more shocking was...she couldn’t change Yu Holea’s future even if she wanted to.

"But goddess," Sir Aldric interjected, his voice firm, "if we do nothing, she will be lost to the darkness. We must try something. Anything."

The goddess sighed.

"We can only...wait."

Her sentence should have inspired Sir Aldric and Lira, but it instead was like a death sentence for Yu Holea’s situation.

Time ticked by slowly.

Inside the scene.

Yu Holea desperately tried to stop the figures from continuing what they were trying to do when suddenly she heard a faint voice,

"Lea? Lea, don’t be misled! Leave."

The voice was very pleasant to listen. How could Yu Holea not recognize it? It was...Qiao Jun’s voice.

Yu Holea turned towards the voice’s direction and saw a ball of light.

However, compared to her usual enthusiasm, Yu Holea wasn’t moved at all.

"Jun’er could you please stop? I know it is not you...it is some kind of projection that you have created..."

Yes.

Yu Holea had long ago realized that Qiao Jun’s soul which had frequently visited her in her dreams, guided her, or congratulated her...was all a projection.

How did she know that?

Well, thanks to Qiao Jun’s measured answers.

When she told him that she had got a simple ’congratulations’.

The problem was...Qiao Jun should have at least shown some astonishment or talked about Qilin, however he only showed a gentle smile.

Even in the dream where Qiao Jun guided her...

Yu Holea kept on feeling as if his words were too stiff.

Only when Qiao Jun visited her dreams a second time, did she realize what was missing. A human touch.

Yu Holea wasn’t stunned to hear Qiao Jun’s next words,

"Lea, please walk towards me, whatever you are seeing currently now is not true."

She couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

For once, she even suspected that Qiao Jun too knew the future and he had already prepared for everything in advance.

Yet she didn’t want to believe it at the same time.

How could she associate her gentle Qiao Jun, with someone who could cruelly leave her?

A bitter smile appeared on Yu Holea’s face.

"Lea! Lea! Please." Qiao Jun’s voice sounded very desperate this time.

Though Yu Holea knew it was fake, she still started to move towards Qiao Jun’s direction.

"We agree."

"We agree."

"We agree."

"We agree."

"We agree."

..............

Suddenly those figures in the background started to repeat the same two words and Yu Holea’s soul chilled.

"Lea! Don’t look back!"

Yu Holea was struck in choosing between leaving the scene and staying.

Though she didn’t know what those figures were doing...her heart felt as if...as if she couldn’t let them continue.

If she did...

She would lose something or someone very precious to her...

"Lea!"

Yu Holea closed her eyes and hurriedly moved toward Qiao Jun’s voice’s direction.

She didn’t know what was wrong and what was right, but she knew one thing for sure...Qiao Jun was never wrong.

At least, he has never taken a decision that would most likely harm her.

Yu Holea stepped toward the ball of light, her heart pounding in her chest.

The chants of the figures grew louder and more intense, but she focused solely on Qiao Jun’s voice, willing herself to believe in his guidance despite her doubts.

"Lea, you’re almost there," Qiao Jun’s voice urged, now clearer and more desperate than ever.

As she moved closer, the scene around her began to shift.

The figures chanting in the background started to fade, and the oppressive atmosphere began to lift.

The golden light surrounding Yu Holea grew brighter, enveloping her entirely, and with each step, she felt the darkness within her recede.

In the Justice Hall, Lira and Sir Aldric watched in awe as the golden light intensified, driving away the ominous aura that had taken hold of Yu Holea.

The goddess stood silent, her eyes fixed on the scene, a glimmer of hope flickering in her heart.

"She’s fighting it," Sir Aldric murmured, unable to tear his gaze away. "She’s truly fighting back."

"I wish she could win, I wish she could make an exception..." The goddess said softly.

Sir Aldri and Lira nodded.

Just as Yu Holea was about to leave she heard a dark voice.

"Look she is leaving. Hehe!"

An instinctive dislike filled Yu Holea. For some reason, she hated the voice...

"How ungrateful! How can a daughter and sister be so ungrateful!"

Yu Holea frowned,

"What do you mean?"

"Lea? Lea ignore all the voices you will hear from her on." Qiao Jun’s voice sounded almost desperate.

"What do I mean? Hehehe... you should ask yourself. Why do you hate that scene just now? Why did you want to stop it? Can’t you remember it?"

Yu Holea’s eyes narrowed.

"What do you mean?" Yu Holea repeated, her voice trembling as she tried to steady herself.

"Lea! Don’t listen!" Qiao Jun’s voice was frantic, echoing in her mind, but the dark voice’s taunts had already planted a seed of doubt.

"Your memories," the dark voice hissed.

"They’re not gone. They’re hidden, locked away because you’re too afraid to face the truth."

Yu Holea’s heart pounded as she struggled to recall what the figures had been doing, why she had felt such an intense need to stop them.

She glanced back at the figures, now fading into the background as she moved towards Qiao Jun’s light.

"Lea, please," Qiao Jun’s voice begged. "Just come to me. Don’t let the darkness deceive you."

On the one side was the dark entity who was famous for misleading humans and on the other side was her lovely partner, who never lied to her.

The choice was too simple for Yu Holea.

Though she was filled with reluctance to leave the scene, but...

Yu Holea bit her lips, decisively followed behind Qiao Jun, and closed her ears.

"Lea," Qiao Jun’s voice called again, soft and urgent, pulling her out of the swirling confusion in her mind.

"Just a little further."

With every step towards the golden light, the darkness seemed to retreat, the oppressive atmosphere lifting.

The figures behind her began to dissolve, their chanting fading into nothingness. She focused on Qiao Jun’s voice, letting it guide her like a beacon.

As she moved closer to the light, a sudden clarity washed over her.

Why was she so anxious?

That was strange...

If she was in her rational mind why would she even stay in a scene she was completely unfamiliar with?

Yu Holea tried her best to recall.

In her past life, she never saw that scene...neither in this life. Even the memories that she had inherited from the host didn’t have such a scene.

So why?

Why was she so against that ritual she had just seen?

Did she perhaps... forget some memories?

But that was impossible.

If she had forgotten those memories, at some point, she might remember them, right?

As a divination master, what could be hidden from her?

Yet Yu Holea felt a strange kind of anxiety filling her.

Maybe...maybe...there was indeed something that she had forgotten.

Something very important.

Something very disturbing.

Before Yu Holea could continue to think, she felt dizzy and the next second, her eyes closed involuntarily.

In the Justice Hall, the scene was a spectacle of radiant light. Lira and Sir Aldric watched in awe, their eyes wide with hope.

The goddess stood still, her gaze fixed on Yu Holea, a silent prayer on her lips.

"She’s done it," Sir Aldric breathed, his voice filled with wonder.

Yu Holea opened her eyes, finding herself back in the Justice Hall.

The oppressive weight that had threatened to overwhelm her was gone, replaced by a sense of clarity and peace.

Lira rushed to her side, tears of relief streaming down her face. "My lady! You did it! You fought it off!"

"Huh? Fought what?" Yu Holea was baffled.

"Miracle." The goddess couldn’t help but say softly.

The other two nodded.

The thing that 9 candidates couldn’t win against, Yu Holea had defeated it.

Just this aspect was enough to prove Yu Holea was far superior than other candidates.

And...
