Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All
Chapter 471: Misfortune

Chapter 471: Chapter 471: Misfortune

"I...I wanted revenge." Fioana tried to act calm.

She was thinking, that since Yu Holea wanted to act she would accompany her!

Yu Holea didn’t comment any further, took out a talisman, and flicked it.

Fioana was instantly scared.

After studying Yu Holea for so long, Fioana understood one thing...Yu Holea...she was beat at ghost exorcising, studying, and talisman making!

She was a genius when it came to making talismans!

Due to her intelligence in talisman making, she could come up with many terrifying numbers of talismans!

Fioana honestly wanted to run away.

However, the talisman as if having eyes, swiftly attached itself to Fioana’s forehead. She froze, unable to move, as a chilling energy spread through her body. Yu Holea watched her with a detached calmness.

"Now," Yu Holea began, her voice as icy as her gaze, "Tell me the truth."

Fioana like a parrot instantly said,

"It was the candidates of the goddess city. They want to break your belief in goddess..."

Yu Holea’s eyes darkened for a fraction of a second, before motioning the bodyguards behind her,

"Drag her to the torture room."

"No! Holea what are you doing? Wait! If you harm me, you will suffer retribution!" Fioana threatened when she saw the two bodyguards walking in her direction.

Yu Holea only chuckled and said,

"We will see about that, later."

.........

Fioana’s daze was broken when she heard Yu Holea’s reassurance.

"Really." Yu Holea nodded earnestly.

Fioana stood up fearfully and looked at Carl with nervousness.

Carl didn’t question Yu Holea and didn’t stop Fioana at all. He just stared at Yu Holea as if waiting for her next command.

While Yu Holea went back to her chair.

Fioana slowly walked towards the door and soon sped up when she realized that she could truly leave the place.

However before she could reach the door, she suddenly tripped.

Fioana turned her head in horror, thinking she had been tripped by Carl or Yu Holea but found that they were still in their face and didn’t even bother to look at her.

She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. She managed to get up and staggered towards the door again, her legs weak and unsteady.

Just as she reached for the handle, the door swung open with a force that knocked her backward.

She hit the floor hard, the air rushing out of her lungs in a painful gasp. A maid stood in the doorway, looking startled and then annoyed when she saw Fioana sprawled on the ground.

"I am sorry ma’am! I am sorry!"

If it was some other day, Fioana would definitely have blown up, but today she truly didn’t dare to show any arrogance.

The maid glanced at Yu Holea, who gave a subtle nod.

The maid then stepped aside, allowing Fioana to scramble to her feet and rush out of the room without further incident.

Fioana ran through the corridors of the hotel, her heart pounding in her chest.

She didn’t stop until she was outside, gasping for breath and looking around frantically as if expecting someone to chase after her. But no one came. She was free, at least for now.

As she stood there, panting and trembling, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

Yu Holea’s calm demeanor and sudden leniency felt like the calm before a storm. She had to find the other candidates and warn them.

She pulled out her phone with shaking hands and called the phoenix-masked woman. It rang several times before being answered.

However, suddenly the battery died down.

Fioana cursed under her breath as her phone’s screen went black. Of all the times for her battery to die, it had to be now.

She looked around, trying to spot a taxi or a public phone booth, but the streets were eerily empty. Her anxiety mounted as she felt increasingly vulnerable.

Fioana started walking, hoping to find a taxi or a convenience store where she could charge her phone.

As she hurried down the street, she stumbled over an uneven pavement and fell, scraping her hands and knees.

She winced in pain but pushed herself back up, glancing around to make sure no one had seen her.

After what felt like an eternity, she spotted a 24-hour convenience store.

Relief washed over her as she entered, heading straight for the counter.

She pulled out her phone and asked the cashier if she could borrow a charger.

The cashier, a bored-looking teenager, shrugged and handed her a charger from under the counter.

Fioana plugged her phone in and watched the screen light up. As it powered up, she noticed the time – it was much later than she thought.

She tapped her foot impatiently, waiting for enough charge to make a call.

When her phone finally had enough battery, she immediately dialed the phoenix-masked woman’s number.

It rang and rang, but no one picked up. She tried again, and this time, it went straight to voicemail. Panic set in. She couldn’t reach anyone, and she was running out of time.

Fioana slowly became fearful.

For some reason, Fioana kept on feeling as if... if she didn’t tell them about Yu Holea’s changes to the candidates, they would be destroyed...

Fioana shook her head nervously.

What was she thinking?

How could Yu Holea be capable of destroying Sister Phoenix and others?

As she left the store, she realized she had no choice but to go to the safe house in person.

She flagged down a taxi and gave the driver the address, praying that she would get there before it was too late.

Halfway through the journey, the taxi suddenly slowed down and pulled over to the side of the road. The driver turned to her, looking apologetic.

"I’m sorry, miss, but the engine’s overheating. I’ll need to call for a tow."

Fioana couldn’t believe her luck.

"Are you kidding me?" she snapped, her nerves frayed.

The driver shook his head.

"I’m really sorry. There’s nothing I can do."

Frustrated and out of options, Fioana paid the fare and got out of the taxi.

She was in the middle of nowhere, with no idea how far she was from the safe house.

She started walking, her heels clicking loudly on the pavement, each step echoing her growing desperation.

As she walked, she felt a drop of rain on her face. She looked up just in time to see the sky open up and pour down on her.

Within minutes, she was soaked to the bone. Her clothes clung to her, and her hair was plastered to her face.

"What the f*ck!" This time Fioana couldn’t control herself and swore.

Suddenly she heard the rustling sound from one of the bushes.

Fioana with an irritated look turned to look in the direction of the bush from where the voice was coming and her soul almost left her body.

She saw a man with no eyes staring at her deeply with a creepy smile.

When it felt Fioana’s gaze on it, the man smiled even more and suddenly started to run towards Fioana.

"Ghost!" Fioana shouted.

The sight of the eyeless man running towards her sent a jolt of terror through Fioana. She turned on her heel and sprinted in the opposite direction, the rain hammering down on her.

Her mind raced, fueled by adrenaline and sheer panic.

She could hear the man’s footsteps splashing through the puddles behind her, getting closer with every second.

"Help! Help! There is a ghost behind me! Help! Wu...wuwu!"

The ghost who was chasing Fioana smiled even more and said in an eerie voice,

"Wait! Don’t leave! You have done many bad deeds and I am an evil cultivator! We are a match made in heaven!"

"No! No! I don’t want to! Please let me off! Please!" Fioana begged.

But the ghost didn’t stop and continued following Fioana.

......

Yu Holea looked at the entire scene through the crystal ball.

There was no satisfaction in her eyes. Just indifference.

When she saw patting Fioana’s shoulder earlier, she had pasted a misfortune talisman on her.

This was the reason why Fioana suffered repeated misfortune.

Yu Holea placed her hand on the crystal ball and said,

"Don’t worry, this is just the beginning. Since everyone thinks I am a pushover. let me clear their misunderstanding."

If they had attacked her, she would have forgiven. After all, she never punished those offenders who had mocked her, taunted her, or attacked her. But if they dared to attack her closed ones, she wouldn’t turn a blind eye.

Not to mention, the people of the goddess city had already harmed Qiao Jun twice.

Do they take her for a fool? Or do they think she can’t retaliate against them?

How naive.

"Miss Yu, should we proceed with the next plan?"

Yu Holea nodded.

She then stood up and said,

"I will leave for now."

Carl nodded. He knew that Yu Holea was going to visit Qiao Jun now.
