"Goddess! Fioana has done her work!" A knight hurriedly entered the hall and reported.

The phoenix-masked woman paused and asked,

"Did she? How is that girl reacting?"

"She is completely broken! If I am not wrong she would soon start to hate the goddess and slowly lose the right to become a candidate!" The knight said with excitement.

The phoenix-masked woman smiled and she said in a charming voice,

"Keep an eye on her and ensure that she doesn’t get the chance to calm herself. Ask Fioana to launch a second attack."

Towards the end, the phoenix-masked woman almost gloated.

If Yu Holea received a second attack before she could deal with the first one,s he would definitely lose faith in god!

The best thing would be if Yu Holea lost her mind and took a wrong step.

The phoenix-masked woman was looking forward to the moment when the Goddess would personally revoke Yu Hoela from the position of the candidate.

Her knight however didn’t agree with her and looked at her with a hesitant expression,

"Why?" The cat-masked woman asked.

"That...goddess has returned!" The knight reported.

For a moment the entire hall turned silent.

The phoenix-masked woman suddenly panicked and said,

"What? When did she return?"

"If I am not wrong, around 2 months." The knight said in a trembling voice.

"Impossible!" The phoenix masked woman muttered.

The knight didn’t dare to oppose her and kept quiet.

The swan-masked woman who was quiet till now asked,

"So you are saying that for the past 2 months, the goddess was here and she didn’t stop her from executing the plan?"

The phoenix-masked woman was instantly agitated and said,

"Hey! What do you mean by ’her’? I wasn’t the only one who had planned all of this, you were involved in this too!"

"Sister Phoenix, what type of prank are you pulling off? From when did I was involved in this plan? It was you all along who found that innocent girl, threatening and hence planned all of this."

The cat-masked woman nodded and added two lines,

"Sister Phoenix, even though we were present here, we didn’t contribute much."

The phoenix-masked woman’s eyes widened, but she soon calmed down and sat in her seat, with a smile she said,

"Oh? You both are saying the right thing. Does the rest of the candidates agree with them?"

The phoenix-masked woman looked at everyone.

There was a total of 9 candidates, including her. Each of them had some kind of mask.

All the 8 candidates remained silent.

When Phoenix’s masked woman saw their behavior she chuckled and said,

"Sure. But did you all forget the 201st rule of the rule book? The one who makes the evil plan and the one who doesn’t participate but listens to it, are both considered as criminal?"

Her words made all the candidate’s faces turn pale.

Phoenix masked woman continued,

"Not to mention, you all had participated in the plan by not opposing it or helping that ’innocent’ girl."

Her tone was filled with mirth.

Seeing the faces of all the candidates turning more pale, the phoenix-masked woman was satisfied.

Did they think that they could trap her?

Suddenly the cat-masked woman said,

"Sister Phoenix, don’t be so mean. That is not what we meant. We never meant to trap you or shrink from responsibility."

"Oh? Really? Then I have misjudged! So let’s think of how to deal with the matter, together, shall we?" The phoenix masked woman said with a chuckle.

"Yes! Yes!" The cat-masked woman agreed and the swam-masked woman pursued her lips tightly.

The phoenix-masked woman nodded,

"Indeed. But first, we should understand why the goddess didn’t interfere in this matter. Don’t you find it strange that the goddess didn’t even try to help that girl?"

"Indeed. If the goddess had arrived in the goddess city more than 2 months then she should have definitely known about this plan, so why did she not help the next possible candidate?" The swan-masked asked curiously.

There was silence for a long time before the cat-masked woman asked in a hesitant tone,

"Is it because she wants to catch us a red hand?"

All the other women couldn’t help but shudder.

If what the cat-masked woman was saying was true then, they were truly done for!

The phoenix-masked woman shook her head and said,

"From what I know. If the goddess truly wanted to catch us red-handed, she would have done so, when that girl’s fiance was about to be hit by the truck!"

All the other women felt that phoenix masked woman’s words were logical.

"So? What do you think sister Phoenix?" The cat-masked woman asked in a cautious tone.

The phoenix-masked woman’s lips curled up and she said,

"I think that maybe the goddess wanted us to deal with her in the first place."

"Ah? Is that so? But why do I think it is not right..." The cat-masked woman expressed her doubts.

"It is indeed strange but I think Sister Phoenix’s words make sense." The swan-masked woman agreed.

The phoenix-masked woman nodded,

"In fact, the more I think the more true it seems. Even when we attacked that girl before, the goddess didn’t hold us accountable and didn’t even scold us!"

"Hm...now that you are saying it sister phoenix, I think you are right!"

"Yes! Who is the goddess? She knows everything! How could she not know about our little plan?"

"But strangely she didn’t interrupt or punish us !"

The phoenix-masked woman smirked but she raised her hand and asked,

All the candidates turned silent.

Finally, the swan-masked woman raised her hand and said,

"I have one more theory."

"Oh? What is it?" The phoenix masked woman asked curiously.

"Maybe the goddess is so silent because she is truly disappointed by us this time and is thinking of taking extreme measures?" The swan-masked woman in an uncertain tone.

The atmosphere stilled and no one dared to oppose the swan-masked woman’s words.

From a logical point of view, the swan-masked woman’s words indeed made sense.

The phoenix-masked woman froze and for a moment she shivered.

If what the masked woman said was true then getting stripped from the position of candidate would be just light punishment!

The cat mask laughed nervously and said,

The smile on cat masked woman’s face stiffened.

"How about asking the goddess directly?" One of the lion-masked women asked.

She looked scared but her words made the most sense.

"Are you crazy?"

"Don’t even think about it!"

"Yeah! If we go to goddess our crime will be confirmed!"

Even the phoenix-masked woman shook her head,

"No! If we go to the goddess maybe we will suffer even more!"

The lion-masked woman however had a different opinion,

"No! Just like how turning oneself on their own could reduce their punishment time, maybe the goddess will become sympathetic too!"

The lion-masked woman hoped that she could get a light punishment.

She swore in her heart that the next time she wouldn’t do such a dirty deed ever again!

The phoenix-masked woman frowned and was about to argue when she was interrupted.

"Well her suggestion is not that bad." A leisurely voice sounded from the door of the grand mansion.

All the candidates turned to look at the entrance of the door with a horrified expression.

A beautiful figure slowly walked inside the grand mansion. Due to the white veil and godly aura, almost no one dared to look in her direction.

However, her pure energy made all the candidates open their mouths in awe.
