The maid’s face turned pale and she opened her mouth to defend, however she was suddenly at a loss.

The room fell into a tense silence, only punctuated by the shallow breaths of the maid and the soft sobs of Mrs. Zhao.

Yu Holea observed the maid’s reaction closely, sensing a shift in the maid’s demeanor. The truth pill was still in effect, compelling the maid to speak honestly.

"You said you had no choice," Yu Holea said softly, "but you always have a choice. Even in your desperation, you chose to harm an innocent child. That choice speaks volumes about your character."

The maid’s eyes filled with tears again.

"I was desperate... I thought I could find a way out, but I couldn’t. I failed everyone, including myself."

Just then the atmosphere shifted and became oppressive.

Yu Holea narrowed her eyes and said,

"It’s here."

The air grew colder, and an unnatural darkness crept into the room. Shadows danced along the walls, coalescing into a form in the center of the space.

A deep, resonant voice echoed, filled with menace.

"So you can’t fulfill your deal in the end, right?"

The maid’s body trembled and her face turned pale.

Yu Holea calmly said,

"Why don’t you come in front, if you dare to act so mysteriously?"

The dark entity said in a light voice,

"You don’t have enough power to challenge me..."

"I don’t think so, Mr. dark entity." Yu Holea said nonchalantly.

She already had her doubts.

No dark entity would want a young soul if they can have a mature soul. So why did the dark entity contacting Zhao Junjie’s aunt want Junjie’s soul?

The entity hissed, its form flickering.

The entity snarled, but its form wavered as if her words were striking at its core. "Enough! I have come for what is mine."

"Ya, whatever." Yu Holea said in an uninterested tone.

The entity was about to attack when Yu Holea used a binding talisman and put away the dark entity in a storage talisman.

Silence.

The maid, Mrs. Zhao, and Mr. Zhao were stunned by Yu Holea’s decisive move.

"It...it..." The maid wanted to ask whether the entity had already been dealt with but, those words seemed to have stuck in her throat,

Yu Holea nodded,

"It is dealt with. As far as I know, the entity you had communicated with, was a weak ghost who was hiding itself as an entity.

The reason why your husband required 10 years to succeed even with the entity’s help was because the entity was weak.

The maid was speechless.
