Qiao Li wanted to roll her eyes but she restrained herself and instead said with confidence,

"Yes! I am her best friend it is my duty to guide her!"

According to her, Yu Holea has just completed her 16th birthday. She should at least wait till 17 to 18 before having her first case.

Qiao Li looked at her second brother.

She knew in her heart that her second brother was very reliable but still things between Yu Holea and her second brother have not yet been confirmed!

How could she let her second brother take advantage of her dear best friend?

What if he left her halfway?

When Ou Xiaoxi’s dad, Mr. Ou, was sorting the letters he saw Qiao Li’s letter and read it after feeling curious.

After reading the letter, he laughed so hard that Ou Xiaoxi and Mrs. Ou were shocked and asked him what the matter was.

At that time Mr. Ou only passed the letter to Mrs. Ou and said,

"You...haha! You read!"

When Mrs. Ou read the letter, she couldn’t help but laugh as well, tears of amusement streaming down her face.

She called Ou Xiaoxi over, and with a gentle smile, handed him the letter.

"Xiaoxi, it seems you have a very determined admirer," she said, her eyes twinkling with mirth.

Ou Xiaoxi, then only nine years old, read the letter with a mix of embarrassment and amusement.

Before he could go out though Qiao Li entered the mansion and acted as if she didn’t know about the letter,

"Li first tell me why did you write such a letter?" Ou Xiaoxi asked with a raised eyebrow.

Qiao Li panicked when she saw that Ou Xiaoxi had caught her so quickly. She wanted to lie, but in the end, she didn’t dare to since her mother had taught her to never lie.

As for the letter...it was the only lie that Qiao Li allowed herself to say...

Qiao Jun chuckled and looked at Qiao Zixin as he said,

"Do you know what she did after that? She proposed to Ou Xiaoxi and asked whether he agreed or not and when he didn’t reply, this little girl actually kissed his cheeks to seal the deal..."

"Brother stop it!" Qiao Li interrupted Qiao Jun who was recounting the entire story.

Qiao Jun’s chuckle deepened, clearly relishing in Qiao Li’s discomfort.

"Li, I’m simply pointing out that we all have our moments of youthful impulsiveness," he said, his tone light but his eyes serious.

What matters is that we learn from them and make decisions thoughtfully as we grow."

Qiao Li’s face flushed with a mix of embarrassment and annoyance.

"That was a long time ago, Second Brother! I’ve grown up since then," she retorted, trying to maintain her composure.

Qiao Jun nodded.

"Exactly my point. We all grow up and change, and we must trust each other to make the right choices. Yu Holea and I are taking things step by step, with mutual respect and care."

If Qiao Jun says that he wasn’t angry then it would be a lie.

After so long he finally made some progress but due to her sister and brother’s interference, he missed the chance.

God knows when he will get another chance.

But one thing was clear, now his wife would definitely not try to contact him for a week or so.

And the sad news was, he couldn’t contact her too...

According to how thin-skinned she was, Qiao Jun knew that Yu Holea would likely avoid him for a while out of embarrassment.

The thought frustrated him, but he tried to remain composed in front of his siblings.

Qiao Zixin, who had been silent, finally spoke up.

"Second Brother, we just want to make sure that everything is done with consideration and respect. It’s not that we don’t trust you, but Lea is important to us too."

For him, Yu Holea was a little sister.

Qiao Jun chuckled and said,

"Go ahead. It’s better if you could make your best friend come in front of me!"

Once that rabbit confront him, he could try to lessen her embarrassment. Maybe then he won’t have to spend the next 1 or 2 weeks all by himself.

Qiao Li almost felt like fainting!

God why was her second brother such a tough nut?

He could make any situation or words in his favor.

Qiao Zixin didn’t copy Qiao Li’s action and only said,

"Second Brother I am sorry, next time I will definitely text you first and then call to confirm whether I can enter the room or not!"

Qiao Jun sighed, looking down at his siblings.

The sight of them kneeling and apologizing softened his expression, though a hint of amusement remained in his eyes.

"Alright, alright. Get up, both of you," he said, helping them to their feet.

"I understand your concerns, but you have to trust me. I care deeply for Yu Holea and would never do anything to hurt her."

Qiao Li and Qiao Zixin stood up, dusting off their knees. Qiao Li looked at her brother with a mix of apology and stubbornness.

"Second Brother, we trust you, but it’s just... Lea is like a sister to us too. We want to make sure everything is right for her," Qiao Li said, her voice softer now.

Qiao Jun waved his hand and the door opened.

Without a word, both of the siblings ran away.

Before leaving Qiao Li didn’t forget to stick her tongue out and say,

"I will deal with you later!"

Qiao Jun snorted.

He lay on the bed and almost wanted to punch something.

Great! Not only did he fail, but now he won’t even get the chance to see his Lea!

Qiao Jun remembered those cheery lips, which he was about to taste and regretted in his heart.

If only he had heard the footsteps in advance and had reacted fast!
