Just as Yu Holea was about to give up, Pan Rou nodded her head and said,

"State your price."

"What artifact?" Miao Chong asked.

"The necklace she is wearing on her neck. It is the medium, through which the ghost of another world could occupy her body and make deal with her." Yu Holea pointed at the black necklace on Si Xun’s neck.

The day when she entered the Pan Mansion, Yu Holea didn’t see the necklace on Si Xun’s neck.

She only felt that the dark aura around Si Xun was because of the impending death she was about to face.

But when today she saw the necklace, Yu Holea knew the source of the problem.

"Then..what about my uncle..." Pan Rou asked.

The question was, why did her uncle suddenly arrive to take her life, and who wanted to destroy the lives of all of them?

"Si Xun’s stepmother. She is the one who gifted the necklace to her!" Miao Chong said after coming out of the daze.

"Lea, where are you?" Yu Hoela listened to Qiao Jun’s voice and a smile appeared on her face.

She looked around and said,

"I am near a coffee shop. The name of the shop is XX..."

"Ok wait for me there." Qiao Jun said in a cheerful voice.

Once Yu Holea hung up, she turned to her left with a confused expression, then she shook her head.

What was she even thinking?

Why did she feel that someone was staring at her?

Yu Holea looked at the opposite side of the road.

The coffee shop just happened to be on the side of the road from where the entire view of the road was visible.

From the corner of her eyes, she saw Qiao Jun who was wearing a blue t-shirt and denim pants, with a flower bouquet in his hand.

Seeing the silly smile on Qiao Jun’s face, Yu Holea laughed.

Thinking it was a good idea to surprise him, Yu Holea stood up and came out of the coffee shop.

She waved her hand but Qiao Jun who was on the opposite side of the road didn’t see her.

He waited for the signal to turn red.

When the signal turned red, he crossed the road.

It was then that he saw Yu Holea and a soft smile appeared on his face.

Yu Holea smiled back.

For a fraction of second Yu Holea saw Qiao Jun’s lips moving.

And what did he say?

Yu Holea moved her lips just like him and realized that he said,

"Take care."

Take care.

And why is his expression so...sad? Why is he smiling so sadly?

Yu Holea’s heart skipped a beat and she started running towards Qiao Jun.

Suddenly a truck appeared out of nowhere, hurtling toward Qiao Jun at breakneck speed.

"Jun, look out!" Yu Holea screamed, her heart pounding with fear.

But it was too late. The truck struck Qiao Jun with a sickening thud, sending him flying through the air.

Time seemed to slow as Yu Holea watched in horror, unable to move as the tragedy unfolded before her eyes.

No!

It is not true!

How can Qiao Jun...

Yu Holea reached Qiao Jun and looked at the red blood pooling beneath his motionless body.

"Qiao Jun!" she cried, dropping to her knees beside him.

Her hands shook as she gently cradled his head, praying desperately for some sign of life.

But Qiao Jun lay still, his eyes closed, his face pale and lifeless.

Tears streamed down Yu Holea’s cheeks as she whispered his name over and over, unable to comprehend the cruel twist of fate that had robbed her of the man she loved.

She looked up at the sky, her heart heavy with grief and disbelief.

Why? Why did this have to happen? What had she done to deserve such agony?

But there were no answers, only the cold silence of the universe.

"Please! Please! Open your eyes! Help! Help!" Yu Holea shouted.

Her heart was getting twisted in her chest.

It was becoming difficult to breathe and Yu Holea almost fainted from the lack of oxygen.

No! She has to stay calm! She needs to save Qiao Jun!

If she panics like this then he would...

No! Nothing will happen to him!

Yu Holea hurriedly checked his pulse.

The pulse was there. Even though it was slow! It was there!

Yu Holea was delighted and hurriedly performed some acupuncture.

After what seemed like an eternity the doctor came out of the room.

They looked at Yu Holea and asked,

"Who are you? Where is his parents?"

Yu Holea stood up hurriedly,

"I am his fiance and they are on the way. How is he?"

"He..." The doctor showed a complicated expression and Yu Holea panicked,

"What happened? What happened?"

The doctor patted Yu Holea’s shoulder and said,

"We tried our best. He was saved but he fell into a coma and from the looks of it... he might never open his eyes."

Yu Holea staggered hearing the doctor’s words.

She shook her head,

"No! No! No! It wasn’t supposed to be like this! It wasn’t supposed to be like this! He promised me to not leave me all alone! So why!"

The doctor could only shake their head and leave.

Yu Holea’s eyes were filled with tears and she took a deep breath. Why was her surroundings turning blurry?

Qiao Jun! Right! She has to see him!

Maybe...maybe after seeing her, he would open his eyes.

He said that he loved her! So he will for sure open his eyes, right?

Yu Holea tried to enter the emergency room but the doctor didn’t allow her.

At last Yu Holea’s face turned numb.

The numb expression on her face was slowly replaced by an angry look.

Yu Holea stood up from the chair and went to a nearby temple.

Once she was sitting in front of the god, Yu Holea said slowly,

"What wrong did I do?"

No answer.

Yu Holea’s eyes turned red in hatred and she shouted,

"Why! Why! Why! Every time I have a family of my own, why do you break it? Why do you hate me?

Am I not your follower? Don’t I worship you enough? Why do you take away my happiness?

I always respected you! My family didn’t treat me well, but I never complained. they abandoned me, but never cursed you!

Even when you made me a cursed child, I listened to all of the criticism, I quietly suffered all the mistreatment and when I finally started to get used to that life, you took away my master!

Yu Holea’s tears were streaming down as she cried.
