Chapter 1965: A Terrifying Punch
"Alright..."
Rachel nodded gently.
In the place where Rachel stood, Connor set up a protective barrier to prevent the Blood Moon Sect members from targeting her. Then, he followed the Cult Leader's steps and chased after him.
A few minutes later, Connor and the Cult Leader finally reached the outside of the altar.
At this point, many of the disciples had not yet left. When they saw the Cult Leader, their expressions were filled with excitement, and they all knelt on the ground.
"Connor, today I will definitely kill you to avenge the elders and disciples of my Blood Moon Sect!"
When the Cult Leader saw that many of the elders had died, he shouted in anger.
He had worked tirelessly for decades to build the Blood Moon Sect to its current scale, and now, everything was ruined by Connor. What made him even angrier was that the time for the resurrection ritual had passed, so he would have to wait for several decades to have another chance to perform the ritual. By then, Taran might already be dead.
All of this was solely Connor's fault.
Regardless, he would not let Connor go.
At this moment, Connor appeared before everyone.
Everyone knew that the real battle was about to begin.
Although they had witnessed how terrifying his strength was, most of the disciples still believed that he couldn't possibly be a match for the Cult Leader. In their eyes, the Cult Leader was a divine presence, and no one could defeat their god.
"Connor, my Blood Moon Sect has no grudge against you. Why did you come here and attack my sect like this?" The Cult Leader had been puzzled by this question all along—why he had done what he did and what he stood to gain from it.
"I'm here to find someone," he replied calmly.
"Taran?" the Cult Leader asked.
"Yes, that's him." Connor nodded lightly.
"Just one Taran made you go to such great lengths and infiltrate my Blood Moon Sect. What's your relationship with him?" The Cult Leader was even more puzzled now.
"I have no personal connection with him, but this person is important to me. You intend to kill him, so that's why I'm here..." Connor continued.
The Cult Leader took a deep breath and then said calmly, "If I hand Taran over to you, would you be willing to leave Winam, and we'll have no further conflicts?"
Clearly, the Cult Leader now recognized his terrifying strength. He wasn't completely confident in defeating him anymore.
He was employing a delaying tactic. By letting Connor leave first and waiting for several decades after successfully resurrecting, he would find it much easier to deal with him then.
This Cult Leader of the Blood Moon Sect had always been a clever person; otherwise, he wouldn't have survived for thousands of years in this world.
However, when the disciples heard these words, they were all stunned, wearing expressions of disbelief. All the elders and disciples had died at Connor's hands, yet now their Cult Leader was actively seeking peace with him. This was something they couldn't accept.
"If I leave with Taran now, do you plan to kill me as soon as you successfully resurrect?" he replied softly.
"I didn't expect you to know the secret of my resurrection. Who are you, and why do you understand how to use soul power?" The Cult Leader continued to question him.
"I don't know how to use soul power." Connor shook his head gently.
"Impossible!" The Cult Leader roared, then continued, "If you don't know how to use soul power, how did you devour my remnant soul?"
Connor didn't explain this issue because he couldn't even understand it himself.
"Never mind. After I beat you to a pulp, I'll make you tell the truth!" The Cult Leader seemed unwilling to waste any more time on him. He waved his right hand lightly.
Instantly, the sky became overcast with dark clouds, and thunder and lightning filled the air.
Following that, a gigantic hand descended from the heavens, aiming directly for Connor.
He could feel the terrifying aura of Ghostly Yin Chi within this hand. Even a slight touch of it would probably be enough to be devoured by the Ghostly Yin Chi.
Although Ghostly Yin Chi and the chi Connor cultivated were not the same, their effects were quite similar.
He didn't dare to be careless when he saw the Cult Leader making his move, as he knew that this Blood Moon Sect Cult Leader was most likely at the peak of Earth-tier Ancient Martial Masters, similar to Jorge. Such individuals possessed terrifying strength, and this battle would be a significant challenge for him.
Seeing the massive hand gradually approaching him, Connor roared, "Break!"
Then, he punched towards the location of the hand.
A massive fist imprint appeared in the air and flew straight towards the hand.
"Boom!"
A deafening sound echoed through the heavens and the earth.
Connor's fist imprint collided with the Cult Leader's hand, causing the entire world to tremble.
The first exchange between the two ended in a draw.
The Cult Leader squinted at Connor's position, his expression somewhat surprised. He had not expected Connor's aura to be so terrifying, and now, even though he looked at the whole world, there were few who could strike such a terrifying blow.
