Chapter 1953: Entering Sutie Mountain

Chapter 1953: Entering Sutie Mountain

On the other side, following the compass's guidance, Connor finally found Sutie Mountain.

He circled around Sutie Mountain and noticed that all entrances were fenced off and guarded by soldiers. This confirmed that he was in the right place, and the headquarters of the Blood Moon Sect should be inside Sutie Mountain.

He could also sense a strange aura emanating from within the mountain. This aura didn't belong to martial artists; he had never felt such an aura in anyone else before.

"This should be the place." He took a deep breath and then turned to look at the nearest checkpoint.

He knew there was no other way to enter the mountain; he had to choose the direct approach. Although this would immediately alert the Blood Moon Sect to his presence, he had no other choice.

After some hesitation, he walked towards the checkpoint.

The guards at the checkpoint aimed their guns at him when they saw him approaching and shouted loudly in the local language, which he couldn't understand.

"Retreat! Quickly retreat!" One of the guards, realizing that Connor might not understand the local language, yelled in broken English.

These guards had not realized that the young man who looked frail standing before them was their target. They simply mistook him for a regular tourist, and since he hadn't entered Sutie Mountain yet, they didn't open fire immediately.

He glanced at the guards, then casually waved his right hand.

A powerful force immediately swept over the guards standing at the checkpoint, sending them flying through the air before crashing to the ground. They all lost their ability to move and lay on the ground, groaning in pain.

Connor walked directly to the young man who had communicated with him earlier and softly asked, "Is the headquarters of the Blood Moon Sect inside this mountain?"

The young man, who now realized his terrifying power, had a fearful expression on his face and stammered, "I... I don't know. I'm just here on a mission..."

Connor understood that these were just innocent soldiers with low ranks who were unaware of many details. He chose not to harm them further and didn't continue to press them for information. Instead, he walked straight into Sutie Mountain.

The injured guards could only watch helplessly as Connor entered, powerless to stop him.

Inside Sutie Mountain, Connor took out the compass once more.

Now, the compass's pointer pointed south.

Without hesitation, he began walking in the direction indicated by the compass.

After a while, his figure disappeared from the sight of the guards.

One of the guards who had suffered the least injury struggled to get up and helped his comrades to their feet.

The expressions on their faces were grim; they had been tasked with guarding the checkpoint, and now, someone had easily broken through. They realized their failure.

"Captain, what should we do now?" a young man asked in a low voice.

"What else can we do? We have to report this," a middle-aged man said through gritted teeth.

"But if we report it, and they investigate, how do we explain this?" the young man hurriedly asked.

"We can't just pretend nothing happened!" the middle-aged man shouted, then took out a walkie-talkie and spoke into it, "Report, there's been a breach at Checkpoint Three. The intruder seems to be our target!"

"Received!" a voice came through the walkie-talkie.

News of Connor's entry into Sutie Mountain quickly spread to everyone involved in the operation. The atmosphere inside Sutie Mountain turned eerie, as even those who had been carefree and casual began to realize that this mission might not be as straightforward as they had thought.

In a corner of Sutie Mountain, several trucks were parked, and in the center, a tent had been set up. This makeshift tent served as the command center for the operation.

Inside the tent, various devices were arranged, and in the center, there was a large screen divided into many smaller screens, monitoring several key locations in Sutie Mountain.

Due to the vastness of Sutie Mountain, it was impossible to monitor the entire area. Therefore, they had installed cameras at several important points.

However, the technology in Winam was not highly advanced, and they lacked drones. If they had drones, it would have been much easier to address this situation.

At this moment, a young man rushed into the tent and shouted, "Report!"

"What's going on?" A middle-aged man with a goatee turned to look at the young man, his expression stoic.

This middle-aged man was Tony Lockwood, the overall commander of this operation.

Tony played a significant role in Wanfo Nation, and the fact that he had been appointed as the commander for this operation showed how seriously the Wanfo Nation regarded it. It also demonstrated the formidable influence of the Blood Moon Sect.

"We just received information that someone forcibly entered Checkpoint Three. We suspect that this person is our target," the young man said in a serious tone.

Upon hearing this, Tony's expression turned somewhat unusual. He furrowed his brows and asked, "Have you located the intruder?"

"The intruder is incredibly fast. We haven't pinpointed their exact location yet," the young man replied.

"Damn it!" Tony exclaimed and clenched his fists. He then muttered, "I told you all before, as soon as you notice any suspicious individuals approaching Sutie Mountain, open fire immediately. Why did you let someone break in?"

"The person was too fast. Our people couldn't react in time, and they were taken down before we knew it," the young man explained with a distressed expression.

Tony took a deep breath and muttered under his breath, "Spread the word. From now on, everyone is on high alert. If you spot the target, report it immediately, and at any cost, ensure that person is eliminated. We cannot allow the intruder to get close to the headquarters. The consequences would be disastrous!"
