Chapter 151: Starting a difficult mission, while winning a tournament in the process

The Leader of the House of Fire smiled.

"We are not as incompetent as those of Loen, Sir."

"Heh. I hope so."

While they were talking, Elliot struggled in the fighting ring, trying to push off a slippery bastard who kept dodging.

’Shit, they get to dodging right when I’m at my busiest and I have to finish it fast.’ He grumbled in his mind and moved even faster.

He managed to catch him by the hair and beat him to the ground, knocking him out, sprawled on the fighting arena.

He was trying to finish his bouts as fast as possible, so he could hear what those guys up there were talking about.

That way, he could hear everything.

But when the fight was over and he started to listen to them more attentively, they stopped talking about important things and started commenting on nonsense about the fight.

So, a long time went by. The evening came, and, not surprisingly, Elliot managed to reach the final stage of this 1vs1 tournament.

He had been listening to everything for quite a while, and thanks to that, he had learned many important and useless things.

For example, the favorite pet of the Leader of the House of Fire and yesterday’s meal of the idiot dressed in black.

But at this point in the competition, everything had calmed down between those two. In fact, the one in black said goodbye and left, saying that they would complete the mission very shortly.

Unfortunately, they didn’t say what amount of time that very little time was.

’Whatever.’ Elliot thought, stepping onto the stage for his last fight, the finals. ’I’ll move as soon as possible.’

He looked at his rival. He did not even bother to pay attention to his rivals, nor did he care what the spectators or referees said about the fact that he had reached this stage so easily.

He simply looked at his opponent, and when he heard the start of the fight, he took him down in about 20 moves, leaving him unable to defend himself.

He did everything as fast as he could, only because those guys had already taken his summoning and were taking it far away from him, which was not good for his control over it.

Soon, they gave him the prize, 16 million dollars, and they also talked about many other things. He was even invited to a party, which he declined, and he was given a token that would allow him to enter the House of Fire.

In fact, he even heard that they were openly inviting him and that they would give him a big contract, but he cared little.

Finally, the little one-day tournament was over.

’Where is he?’ He rushed out of the building they were in and quickly went to look for his summoning.

Then he realized they were quite far away, right on the dock.

’Will they be moving soon?’ he thought. Maybe he was running out of time or was already running late.

But he quickly realized that wasn’t the case. They seemed to be protecting the place.

Thanks to that, Elliot could approach his summoning and took the camera he had left in it, but left it there to act as a spy.

He quickly returned to the hotel and looked at the video that had been recorded, wanting to look for clues in the parts he couldn’t hear.

There was a lot of information he had skipped over before.

For example, he had a video just now that could compromise the Minister of Awakened himself and Fire Castle, as the one dressed in black revealed that they were supporting this.

Also...

"The time has come for the revival of a true divine holiness..."

Those were the last important words of the man dressed in black.

Elliot realized that he had something too valuable in his hand. He couldn’t understand who they were referring to, but he was sure it had something to do with a ritual and bringing back some kind of very powerful being.

Who was that being? That’s the mystery.

Elliot stopped thinking about nonsense. He immediately called Jenna and said: "We’ll get started right now."

Afterward, he dressed in dark clothes and looked for a cloak. He then set off to meet Erick at a private cafe near the dock.

He came with some of the leaders of the Misfits, per Elliot’s request.

"We’re pretty busy right now." Erick said and sat down. "What’s going on?"

"What are they doing right now?" Elliot asked, curious and expressionless.

"We have to load big loads onto various trucks and ships. Apparently, the Fire House has found something really big this time; they won’t even let us see inside."

"Have you started on it yet?" Elliot asked, and they nodded.

"Yes, but it’s a long way off. We barely have a few things upstairs, essential to running the trucks and ships."

"Good." Elliot smiled. "I’ll tell you something important then. All the merchandise you guys are putting on those trucks and ships right now is illicit and against the Law, even the System’s."

"Oh?" One of the leaders present was surprised. "Do you know the contents of those boxes, Sir?"

"I do. And what I said is the least of it. The most important thing is that many of those boxes carry lots and lots of money, jewels, precious stones, and treasures of all kinds."

The eyes of all of them widened like saucers, but greed crossed the gaze of most of them.

"Are you sure about that?" They lowered their voices to ask, and Elliot nodded.

"There’s at least 10 billion in money in there. I have reliable sources who are on site right now, and they have told me all of this. The House of Fire is looking to launder money that way, while using gemstones and other additional things."

"So much money?"

"Since you called us here..." one of them said, smiling. "Do you have a mission for us?"

He nodded. "It’s a good thing you’re smart." He smiled.

"The mission is to sabotage all this cargo and attack them in all instances. We have to steal all this money. Don’t worry. If you guys start from the outside and inside, some pretty strong people will join you. If we make the attack a success, we will not only weaken the House of Fire, we will also get a lot of money, and you won’t have to worry about anything else."

"You won’t be alone." Elliot said and looked at the door. "Come in." He spoke.

Jenna then walked in, followed by two ’people’, who were two of his summons.

"She will help us this time, despite how they see her. She is quite strong, a Master Rank, just like me. The two of them belong to the infiltrator side. There are numerous infiltrators in there who will start the attack. If you guys go along with it, we guarantee you complete victory."

His words seemed to convince these Misfits. Most of them already had fantasies in their heads about having riches.

Besides, the fact that they were Master Rank at such a young age showed that they surely had someone behind them—some powerful faction.

If so, why wouldn’t they succeed in this mission?

There were 10 leaders who had contact with 20 others. A rebellion in which 30 leaders joined together and attacked at the same time would be destabilizing.

In normal situations, they would possibly die, but right now was a good time to attack, because they were busy smuggling and because they knew what they were doing was illegal.

This was the perfect time to attack. That’s why Elliot wanted to attack tonight.

But Elliot knew that without a quick incentive, they would surely not move, so he took out some money.

"My mission is to destabilize the House of Fire for their many crimes, but I know you all too well. I once worked as a Misfit, and I know you all have no such desires for heroism. So, this time, I will offer you all the money we can get out of there, and this will be the down payment. Two million dollars total, two hundred thousand for each of you, " he said, smiling softly.

"I can pay this to the leaders you can get on your side in this short time as well."

With that, his final lunge was delivered.

And it was effective.

Suddenly, one of the leaders stood up.

"Count me in. Even though I know I’m not decisive, I’m still going to strive for the fact that my boys will be free or, at the very least, that they won’t be so oppressed." He said, words befitting a hero, he was not.

In his eyes, dollar signs were written, revealing that he simply wanted to steal that money and get the hell out of here.

But no one could blame him.

They were all like that.

And with the first example, all the remaining leaders did the same.

Even Erick had to sigh and say he would do it too.

"Very well," Elliot smiled. "I look forward to your success, so I will send these two men with you. Feel free to ask them for help; although they don’t talk much, they are reliable." He said, pointing to his two summonings, who were entirely dressed as if they were human.

One was the swordsman summoning he had done, and the other was the orc. Although he was much larger than the first, no one doubted that he was a human because of the way he was dressed.

But it was only a disguise. But a very good one.

They were thrilled; they looked very encouraged by this.

"Thank you very much, Sir!" They expressed.

Soon after, they all left.

Elliot looked out the window next to Jenna as they left and smiled.

"It’s time for a big move. I wonder if we can shake up the city." Elliot said, taking a sip of coffee that would keep him awake for several hours.

Jenna smiled a little. "I’ve been watching your movements these past few days, and I think I can notice a pattern."

"A pattern?" Elliot turned to look at her. "What kind of pattern?"

She then stared at him.

"You must be that person who’s been sending missions to Loen’s Misfits, right?" she asked.
