Chapter 1345: Chapter 1345

Allen Rivera brought her in front of two kind-looking elderly people and introduced Jane McCain to them.

They were speaking in dialect, which Jane couldn’t quite understand. She silently thought to herself: They must be Allen’s parents.

With silver hair and rosy complexion, the elderly looked healthy, maybe around seventy or eighty years old. That’s quite old... but if the family has many siblings, it seems normal for parents to be older.

After Allen introduced them, he introduced his family to Jane: "This is my grandpa and grandma."

Jane was startled.

So, they’re not his parents, but if they’re his grandparents... how young they look!

Allen then introduced his parents, a couple who seemed to be in their fifties or sixties, equally kind and amiable.

Then there were Allen’s uncle, aunt, another uncle, another aunt, eldest sister, Eldest Brother-in-Law, second brother, second brother’s wife, third brother, third brother’s wife, cousin, cousin’s wife, cousin’s sister, cousin’s sister’s husband, and all their children...

It was hard, Jane only remembered the first four.

She felt particularly anxious, as remembering faces was easy, but accurately matching them to identities was a big problem!

If she got the identities wrong, not only would she embarrass herself, but also make the others uncomfortable!

The exquisite dishes on the table couldn’t attract Jane’s attention. After sitting down, she pretended to eat calmly, while desperately memorizing, even if it was just remembering the seats, at least she wouldn’t mistake an aunt for an older aunt or a cousin for a brother-in-law.

Allen leaned over and whispered in her ear, "It’s okay if you don’t remember, after meeting a few more times, you’ll naturally get familiar."

Jane was slightly taken aback, looking at Allen, surprised at how he knew she was memorizing people?

"You’ve been eating a piece of chive for ages." Allen picked a green segment of chive from her bowl and then gave her some other food, "These dishes were specially made for you. Eat more, grandpa and grandma will be very happy."

Jane no longer pressured herself, shifting her focus to the food in front of her.

It had to be said, there was indeed a lot of food... and the table was really big, she had never seen such a large round table before.

As she was eating, she heard the elderly cheerfully say something at the table, mentioning her name indistinctly, which made Jane look up instinctively.

A bit awkward, the elderly’s accent was heavier than the others, she couldn’t understand, so she just maintained a smile.

Allen helped translate: "Grandma praised you for being pretty."

Oh, so that’s what it was.

But what the elderly said seemed quite long, how could it be translated so briefly.

Jane didn’t think much of it, she gave the elderly a shy smile, "Thank you, Grandma."

Opposite her, a child sat, unsure if he was Allen’s nephew or who. His shiny black eyes rolled around before he suddenly spoke: "Great-grandma said the philtrum on your face is long and clear, making you have an easy time in childbirth. Your cheeks are full and round, which means good luck with children in the future. Your lip color is red and glossy, indicating good physical health and ease of conceiving. She also says your butt is well-formed! She says you..."

His mother covered his mouth, stopping the words.

Was that mother a cousin’s wife or a cousin’s sister?... Ah... she couldn’t remember anymore and just felt like her expression was cracking...

Allen picked some food for her, calmly comforting, "Grandma was using traditional terms, it means the same thing, they are praising how well you look, pretty."

Jane: "..."

Please don’t make such presumptuous explanations, okay!

...Forget it, she decided to pretend to focus on eating to ease the awkwardness.

After a few bites, Allen’s grandma started laughing merrily again, speaking a lot this time to the grandpa beside her.

Grandpa nodded, and then, the gazes of the two elderly alternately landed on Allen and Jane, looking very kindly.

Allen reassured her once more: "Grandma said she has already arranged a place for you to stay and hopes you find it comfortable."

Jane quickly put on a modest demeanor: "You just arrange it as you see fit, I’m not picky at all..."
