Chapter 1269: Chapter 1269

Jane McCain suddenly realized, "So you also have an older brother and sister at home."

"Yeah." Allen Rivera nodded, "One older sister, two older brothers, I’m the youngest. What about you?"

"I’m an only child."

Allen nodded again and asked, "Did you get into design because of your family?"

"Half and half, I guess," Jane said, "My parents agreed to get a divorce when I was in high school. He gave my mom a large sum of money. My mom used that money to start her own clothing brand. Actually, even before the divorce, my dad rarely came home and didn’t really take care of me, so the divorce didn’t affect me much. I went through school, went to college, and studied design... Now I work as a jewelry designer at my mom’s company. So yeah, I was mainly influenced by my mom."

Allen smiled and said, "I guess we’re getting to know each other all over again."

Jane gave a soft "hmm" and inexplicably felt shy. She lowered her head to pick up more food to eat.

At this moment, a gift box was handed over in front of her.

Jane instinctively took it, bewildered, and looked at Allen in confusion.

Allen said, "Open it and see."

Jane opened the gift box.

Inside was a necklace, very elegant and delicate in design. One half of the necklace was encrusted with tiny diamonds. Held in hand and shifted slightly, it reflected countless dazzling lights.

Is this another piece of evidence?

Jane examined it seriously and slowly said, "The material is platinum, and the inlay craftsmanship is quite exquisite. It should be from a major brand. The combination of small diamonds as supporting stones enhances the brilliance of the main stone, adding a sense of opulence and creating a luxurious and dreamy visual effect. The carat size of the main stone isn’t large, but the cut and color are quite good. For more detailed aspects, I need to go back to the office and use instruments to check it..."

After speaking, she put the necklace back into the gift box.

Looking up, she saw Allen staring at her without saying a word. Jane thought for a moment and added, "The platinum looks very new, and there’s no dust in the inlay crevices. It probably hasn’t been worn, or it’s been well maintained."

Allen chuckled and let out an almost inaudible sigh.

He took the necklace, stood up, and walked behind Jane to put the necklace on her.

Jane slowly realized what was happening, and her face turned as red as the sunset-stained clouds, with a peachy blush spreading across.

"I thought you knew, we’re on a blind date," Allen said as he returned to his seat.

Jane was dumbfounded, staring at him blankly, "We’re on a blind date...?"

"Isn’t that right?" Allen seriously thought about it, "From what I remember, this was the usual flow of your previous blind dates."

Meeting, eating, introducing oneself and family.

"But, but... I thought... this..." Jane’s face turned extremely red. She felt the plot had taken a sharp turn, leaving her unprepared.

After a long while, she finally managed to stammer out a complete sentence, "You... you like me too?"

The word "too" revealed everything.

Jane wanted to find a hole to crawl into!

Her IQ?!

Where did her IQ go?!

Allen laughed, "Looks like we’ve reached a consensus."

Jane was in disarray.

Does this count as a confession? Does it?!

For the rest of the dinner, she didn’t say another word, completely in a daze.

Later, Allen drove her home. As the car stopped at the doorstep, Jane’s mind was still muddled.

She felt like the night couldn’t end just like this, without clarifying things or understanding what had happened... How did it turn into a blind date?

Allen said, "I’m usually busy with work and might not be able to see you every day, but I’ll try to spend more time with you. If you have any expectations of a boyfriend, you can also tell me. I’ll do my best to meet them."

Jane listened, her face reddening, and murmured, "We... does this mean... we’ve confirmed our relationship?"

Allen’s expression grew a bit more serious, and he asked, frowning, "Do you still need time to think about it?"

Jane bit her lower lip, struggling internally, "Um... I think I need to think it over..."
