Chapter 1778: Chapter 1339: King Fei Lie Is Coming?
Ange’s hand was still turning, indicating time acceleration was ongoing, yet the Monarch descended with a normal pace.
Seeing Ange’s confusion, the Monarch said, "It seems I am immune to your time control; as long as I lock onto someone with my thoughts, the flow of time will sync with theirs."
Having said that, the Monarch landed on the chessboard.
Everyone gathered around, and Negris eagerly asked, "Old Immortal, how are you feeling?"
"Great, never been better. I’ve found the increment," the Monarch said with a smile.
Negris scrutinized the Monarch and asked skeptically, "Really found the increment? How did you find it?"
They had just discussed the increment, and it seemed like something Anthony and Ursman found shocking—could it be that the increment is truly generated by consciousness?
Of course, they knew long ago that the increment originated from consciousness and soul, but knowing where it comes from and knowing how it is generated are not the same. The difference is like ’I come from the Master Plane’ vs. ’I arrived by Teleportation Array.’
If that’s the case, then where does the Old Immortal’s consciousness come from?
"Remember those intelligent undead creatures from Undead City?" the Monarch asked.
Negris nodded, recalling how all the intelligent undead creatures from Undead City were given to the Monarch by Ange. Could it be that they were used to build the increment?
"Yes, Ange talked about some increment. What do I know about increment? I could only think of ways from past experiences. My breakthrough in Mourning relied on the Soul Network. I now possess a richer Soul Network than before, and now they are inside my body," the Monarch said.
Negris was stunned: "You devoured them all?"
The Monarch nearly slipped: "I meant nodes, nodes. Their soul nodes are projected on me, forming an independent consciousness world, influencing each other and generating an increment."
"Oh, you scared me. I thought you swallowed them all." Negris let out a sigh, earning a playful flick on the forehead from the Monarch.
"Let’s go, let’s find that King Fei Lie and see how I chop him," the Monarch said.
Indeed, they needed to leave here; if they stayed, time outside wouldn’t pass, and King Fei Lie would never come.
Yet approaching the Teleportation Gate, Ursman quietly said to Anthony, "I feel like we’re missing something."
"You feel that way too? What are we missing?" Anthony asked.
Ursman shook his head: "Can’t remember for the moment."
Even after leaving the Space-Time Domain and catching up with Yennefer, neither Ursman nor Anthony could recall what they’d overlooked.
Wise men often have strong analytical abilities, able to capture key clues from a heap of complicated information. But sometimes clues are so obscure that they become indistinguishable, leaving only a vague feeling of something missing.
Finding Yennefer and then the Dragon-Men settlement turned out to be easy; beating them up first, freezing the space, gathering them all together, transforming into the Dragon God, giving them a light show, and curing Black Scale Disease made the Dragon-Men comply.
"Greet the ancestor," the Dragon-Men shouted in unison.
Transforming into the Dragon God and then using Bloodline Resonance would usually suffice to gain trust. Not everyone was as suspicious as Yennefer, but since Ange first met Yennefer, he assumed all Dragon-Men were like this, so he simply went all out.
Stuffing all the Dragon-Men into the Space-Time Domain, Negris suddenly realized a problem: "Without time in the Space-Time Domain, could it be that before taking a few steps outside, they will have already aged to death inside?"
Ange tilted his head in confusion: "Who said there’s no time?"
Negris pointed with a claw: "They said so."
Anthony quickly shared his and Ursman’s speculation, using the opportunity to verify with Ange.
Ange shook his head: "Time, I control."
Both Anthony and Ursman took a sharp breath, realizing they were wrong all along; the Space-Time Domain doesn’t lack time, but Ange controls it, speeding it up or slowing it down at will. Ange truly is the ruler of the Space-Time Domain.
"Such a perverse Space-Time Domain," Negris muttered under his breath, "In the future, we could toss the Dragon Eggs in there, accelerate them, and they’d hatch without taking five hundred years."
Anthony couldn’t help but roll his eyes: "With such a miraculous domain controlling time and space, all you think about is using it to hatch Dragon Eggs?"
Negris rolled his eyes in return, saying softly, "Hatching Dragon Eggs is quite advanced, alright? If Ange heard this, he’d definitely use it for farming."
Considering Ange’s nature, it wasn’t just Anthony; even Ursman instinctively kept quiet.
"Alright, now that the Dragon-Men are secured, we have no worries. What should we do next, wait for King Fei Lie to arrive?" Negris asked.
Anthony glanced at Ange, then the Monarch, finding everyone rather bored. He quickly said, "Who knows when King Fei Lie will come? Waiting here is a waste. Let’s leave some warning prohibitions in the Dragon Tomb and... What were we doing here?"
"The Stele, the Stele, we came here to see the Monument Forest. Olette, Olette, where are you?" Negris suddenly remembered their true purpose here.
Olette had mentioned finding information about God Star’s blessing on a stele in a certain dimension, which led them to the Monument Forest. They hadn’t expected to meet Yennefer and get tangled in so many events, nearly making them forget why they came here.
After confirming with the Dragon God in the Space-Time Domain, whether or not they went to the Monument Forest seemed irrelevant. All the truly valuable information had already been conveyed to Ange.
Olette timidly descended from Lightning. It swore it hadn’t experienced anything this thrilling in its entire life. Dragons, Deceit Trees, and King Fei Lie, any one of them was a level it could never touch, and now they all happened together.
As for reversing time, such notions were beyond its imagination. It had never read a knight novel growing up; it lacked this kind of rich imagination.
It clung to Lightning the whole time, cautious not to descend, fearing Anthony might spot it and command it to fight King Fei Lie, which would spell disaster.
"Do you remember where the dimensional rift containing the Monument Forest is?" Negris asked.
"I do, but why not ask the Dragon-Men? They know better," Olette suggested.
Good point, Anthony summoned Yennefer to guide them to the Monument Forest.
"You all go ahead, I’ll stay here, practice my increment," the Monarch proposed.
That works too; with the Monarch guarding, no need to leave prohibitions. Under Yennefer’s guidance, they flew toward where the Monument Forest was located.
However, before they could reach the Monument Forest, a violent energy surge erupted from where the Monarch was.
"Has King Fei Lie arrived?" Anthony and others perked up, turned to look, only to see that Ange had already soul-shifted away.
