Chapter 1612: Chapter 1173: The God Who Masters Time and Space
"Pfft... Wait, wait, where are you going? You’re heading to the Boundless Space Hole? To find the Time-Space Ancient Dragon?" Negris nearly coughed up a mouthful of old blood.
Anthony pressed him down and turned to the demon spirit, asking ’concernedly’: "The Boundless Space Hole is very dangerous. Aren’t you afraid? It’s so vast inside, there’s no way to restock supplies, and it’s easy to get lost."
"Not afraid. The Boundary Migration Airship was designed specifically to navigate the Boundless Space Hole. I can glide along spatial folds, so there’s no need for supplies, and I won’t get lost." The demon spirit responded.
"Wow, such a magical design. Whoever designed you must be a genius. But I’m still a bit worried. Could you explain it to me in detail?" Anthony asked.
"Sure, sure, the design of the airship is like this..." The demon spirit enthusiastically began explaining the airship’s features and functions.
Negris pursed his lips tightly and quietly backed away, silently giving a huge thumbs-up in his heart. This Death God’s Staff is truly impressive—he can even fool a demon spirit.
After occasionally throwing in a compliment and patiently providing a preamble, Anthony asked, "By the way, who is this Time-Space Ancient Dragon? Why are you looking for it?"
"The Time-Space Ancient Dragon is a god in the Void, mastering both space and time. Leonel said that the Time-Space Ancient Dragon has the ability to reverse time and manipulate space. His divine seal was modeled after the Time-Space Ancient Dragon’s imprint, but he often felt that his powers were incomplete. He wanted to find the Time-Space Ancient Dragon to learn the true mysteries of the Power of Time and Space."
"But there’s a rumor that the Time-Space Ancient Dragon went to the Boundless Space Hole, so he built the Boundary Migration Airship to enter the Hole and search for the Time-Space Ancient Dragon," the demon spirit explained.
Anthony said, "But he’s already fallen—won’t that make your search futile?"
"I must go. The Time-Space Ancient Dragon has the ability to reverse time—I will find him to revive Leonel." The demon spirit replied resolutely.
"You are truly a loyal companion. Leonel was lucky to have you. But the Time-Space Ancient Dragon must be an immensely powerful being—what if he refuses to help?" Anthony commented.
The demon spirit blinked its eyes: "Why would he refuse? Leonel inherited his power; why wouldn’t he assist me?"
Negris finally understood. This airship demon spirit was genuinely naive. It actually asked such a question? Inheriting one’s power means they must help you? Does that mean the Church of Light must unite in harmony and support each other without Anthony causing trouble?
It seemed that when it called everyone ’little dwarves,’ it probably wasn’t intentionally offensive—it simply thought everyone was shorter than itself. After calling them that, it would even actively shrink its own form to match their height for fair interaction. What a genuinely sweet creature.
With such a pure demon spirit, Anthony certainly wouldn’t shatter its innocence. He said, "Of course he would help you. But what if reversing time requires a tremendous amount of power, and by helping you, he is drained so badly that he can no longer survive in the Boundless Space Hole? What then? You wouldn’t want the Time-Space Ancient Dragon to die just to help you, would you?"
"Huh? How could that be? The Time-Space Ancient Dragon is so powerful." The demon spirit seemed never to have considered this issue and was completely flustered by Anthony’s question.
"The Time-Space Ancient Dragon is indeed powerful, but the Boundless Space Hole is a prison built specifically for detaining mighty beings, so the Time-Space Ancient Dragon may not necessarily have the power to reverse time anymore..." Anthony said slowly, and unknowingly, the demon spirit fell into his trap, revealing large amounts of information.
Some ten minutes later, Anthony retreated, leaving the demon spirit in place with a face full of conflicted feelings.
Negris immediately leaned in and whispered, "What did you manage to extract?"
"A lot. This demon spirit knows too much. It knows the Boundless Space Hole is a prison for mighty beings and is even aware of Gemez Fortress. This god named Leonel awakened a Divine Technique called Time Clue—similar to your Power of the Prophet—but the main function is to trace past events. Using Time Clue, he uncovered many critical occurrences." Anthony whispered back.
Negris was shocked: "A Time Clue to trace the past? What’s the use of that? For archaeology or solving crimes?"
Past events have already happened; even if you see them, you can’t change them. Such a Divine Technique is practically useless, except for archaeology or criminal investigations—it has virtually no other applications.
"You’d never guess. He used it for research. His Wheel of Time and Space was completed this way, peering into the mysteries of Origin with a god’s body. But ultimately, he couldn’t bear the strain and fell," Anthony said regretfully.
The Void is full of brilliant figures; Wise Man Ursman is already smart enough, yet here is someone even more remarkable—a seemingly ordinary god who, relying on an almost useless Divine Technique, managed to piece together the Origin-level Power of the Wheel of Time and Space.
But evidently, this did not end well for him. The Origin Power was too overwhelming; unable to endure it, he fell, leaving behind only an unfinished airship and a naive demon spirit.
The correct approach should have been systematically fortifying oneself, growing one’s faith, becoming an immensely powerful figure like Little Ghost’s Master God, and only then delving into the Origin Power.
Of course, it’s easy said but hard done. In the Divine Light Alliance, faith is almost impossible to strengthen; otherwise, Leonel wouldn’t have been hiding in such a desolate corner.
So, under these circumstances, how could one silently expand their strength? Anthony’s compulsive problem-solving tendency took over, and he crossed his arms in deep thought, trying to devise a way to grow stronger without attracting attention in this initial setup—until the trembling of the airship snapped him out of it.
Turning his head, he saw Mo Fei, who had been conflicted earlier, now floating over: "Thank you so much for your analysis, but I’ve thought it through. I’m still going to look for the Time-Space Ancient Dragon."
Anthony’s expression stiffened: "Why?"
Was there really someone he couldn’t manage to fool? Where did he go wrong?
"Because seeking the Time-Space Ancient Dragon is my mission. Whether the Time-Space Ancient Dragon wants to reverse time has nothing to do with me. I just want to complete my mission. Thank you for your help. You’ve not only awakened me but also completed the airship. Farewell." Mo Fei spoke gratefully.
Ah, so that’s it. Anthony understood now. Finding the Time-Space Ancient Dragon was the demon spirit’s mission left by Leonel, but reviving Leonel was not. If it happens, good; if not, it’s not the demon spirit’s concern. Such a clear division of responsibilities—how’s this any different from the slippery old schemers in the church?
Anthony sourly said, "So what are you going to do now? Set off for the Boundless Space Hole? We’re still onboard the airship."
"Oh, then you’d better get off quickly. Otherwise, you won’t be able to..." Mo Fei muttered, then hesitated, "Hmm? Why isn’t the hatch responding? Why can’t I control the airship? Is there something surpassing my jurisdiction..." The demon spirit muttered as it checked various malfunctioning components of the airship, its gaze finally settling on Ange.
Seeing the situation as it was, Anthony no longer had the heart to trick the demon spirit and introduced, "Allow me to reintroduce—this here is the god mastering time and space: the Time-Space Ancient Dragon."
PS: Feeling very ill, bedridden for two days. Not sure why, but for the past couple of years, any cold I catch seems extremely severe.
