Chapter 1606: Chapter 1167: Kvada, Light Disaster Upgraded
The Monarch couldn’t resolve the issue and turned to Ange for help. No one felt this was wrong—even the Monarch himself didn’t feel slighted. He knew he was good at fighting, but if asked to do something else... well, forget it.
Ange casually reached out—Goddess of Beauty Fist.
The Goddess of Beauty Fist extracted a shadowy phantom and moved it in front of the Monarch?
"You don’t want it? Its digestion capacity is quite impressive—it can grow immensely strong," the Monarch said, looking a bit stunned.
Ange shook his head. "I’ve got one." He gestured toward the Little Ghost.
The Little Ghost also had devouring and digesting abilities. As a wraith, it could consume unclaimed Divine Aspects of Light, boasting an already strong digestion capacity; it could even solidify various powers, making it far more practical than the "Take a Bite" ability.
"Take a Bite" could only digest Soul Energy. It couldn’t handle the Power of Holy Light—instead, it merely neutralized it. While some characteristics of "Take a Bite" might not have surfaced yet, even from what was evident, it was better suited for the Monarch.
The Monarch didn’t hesitate. He planted a Soul Brand on the phantom, forcibly imprinting it.
Negris couldn’t help but exclaim, "The Goddess of Beauty Fist is incredible! So, Ange, what exactly would you call the phantom you just pulled out?"
Ange tilted his head.
Negris continued, "This phantom—what should it be called? If it doesn’t have a name, why not just come up with one yourself?"
Ange blinked. "Delusion? Delusional Spirit."
"Delusional Spirit? What does that mean?" Negris asked, puzzled.
"I... imagine it... spirit," Ange explained, before returning to tending his garden.
Negris and Anthony exchanged a look, and both saw the fear in each other’s eyes.
Ordinary people couldn’t begin to grasp the terror in Ange’s words: a spirit imagined into existence, capable of affecting you. Your transformation—all within his delusions...
Ange reached out, conjuring a spirit he imagined, then threw a punch to knock off certain attributes of the spirit. Once reintegrated, the affected person would begin to transform based on the spirit—becoming uglier or more beautiful, regressing or progressing—all within Ange’s imagination.
This terrifying ability—which even the Church of Light could not begin to fathom—had already been used by Ange for so long. If Negris hadn’t asked those questions, no one might have realized just how horrifying the phantom conjured by the Goddess of Beauty Fist truly was: an imagined creation, existing purely because he willed it.
Crafting from the Void, conjuring Delusional Spirit by hand.
Negris and Anthony stared at each other in silence for a long time, barely managing to calm themselves. For once, Negris found himself unable to form an opinion; it had surpassed the limits of his understanding. In the end, he could only weakly mutter, "Monster."
Anthony suddenly thought of something and softly asked, "If even spirits can be imagined, does that mean the Lord could already create consciousness?"
"Creating consciousness? That’s right," Negris’s expression shifted. While Delusional Spirit exceeded his comprehension, creating consciousness felt slightly more graspable. Viewed from this angle, it didn’t seem as incomprehensible.
"Creating consciousness is difficult. Low-level beings don’t possess consciousness—Skeleton Zombies only have souls, acting purely on instinct. Intelligent beings and higher Undead possess both consciousness and wisdom. However, based on our findings from the Chaos Plane, all consciousness and life stem from Ancient Godlight. So consciousness isn’t created—it is inherited," Negris analyzed.
He then changed the subject, "But, Ange is the Great Unified Origin of the Seven Forces. In essence, he already possesses all the power of Ancient Godlight, so it’s not impossible for him to create consciousness."
With this realization, Negris and Anthony nodded in agreement, as if a weight had been lifted. If Ange could indeed create consciousness as the Origin of the Seven Forces Unification, imagining a spiritual body should certainly be less challenging.
Now that they understood this, the fear of Delusional Spirit vanished. It wasn’t horrifying—Ange was just that exceptional!
Previously, there had been no Soul Contact. But after establishing Soul Contact, memory from the wraith could now be directly searched. However, after searching, the Monarch’s tone was bitter: "Its memory is so chaotic. How am I supposed to find anything? I only located a general direction."
Memory searching wasn’t omnipotent. While memories could be retrieved, it was uncertain whether they could be comprehended—especially in cases of mental illness or amnesia.
Memories of those with mental illnesses were incomprehensibly chaotic, filled with illusions, making it impossible to distinguish between real experiences and delusions.
Typically, when ordinary people imagine something, their projections are fuzzy—like fantasized figures often lacking faces—which can easily be distinguished from true memory. But the delusions of those with mental illnesses often appear even clearer than their lived experiences.
In contrast, amnesiacs suffer sporadic memory loss, akin to reading a book with missing pages—key elements are often absent.
Wraith memories, though, were worse than even the most chaotic mental illness—an absolute mess. The Monarch couldn’t make sense of any coherent thread. Being an Undead, it also lacked a clear perception of time, leaving one unable to distinguish which memories were from earlier and which were later.
To use an inappropriate analogy: Did it stab you first before you died? Or did you die first, and then it stabbed you?
With memories this disorganized, trying to pinpoint an exact location was unimaginably difficult.
"What’s the general direction?" Negris asked.
"It’s in this area," the Monarch replied. "I found memory fragments of dozens of locations—generally within this range—although it keeps changing."
Negris was ecstatic, nodding in response. He nodded because their earlier intel had already confirmed the Dimensional Space’s location kept shifting, which was expected. He was excited because the Monarch had retrieved dozens of location fragments, greatly increasing the sample size.
"Perfect! Here’s what we’ll do: use the Boundless Space Hole as a reference point. With the Space Hole as a reference, locate the most prominent object on its edge. Can you find it?" Negris asked.
"I can—it’s there," the Monarch pointed toward the distant Sun. Unsurprisingly, from the Space Hole’s direction, the Sun was the most prominent object at its edge.
"Great. Can you deduce their relative movements? Which way is the Sun tilting? Come, let me teach you the basics of an Astronomical Observation Art angle measurement method. First, do this, then that, arriving at these calculations. Can you figure it out? What are the numbers?" Negris asked enthusiastically.
Following Negris’s instructions, the Monarch used fragments of the wraith’s memory to calculate a set of numbers. Among dozens of fragments, he derived over twenty digits. Putting these into the astronomical model quickly led to a conclusion:
"The Dimensional Space exists within this region, rotating along an elliptical orbit with a cycle of approximately three years."
As his words fell, the distant Sun suddenly grew brighter, its intensity skyrocketing.
"Kvada, the Light Disaster has escalated."
