Chapter 1600: Chapter 1161: The Treatment Was Very Successful, You Have Recovered
Between the four Star Gods, a human head popped out and looked at him with joy: "You’re awake? That’s great, the treatment was successful, you’ve returned to normal."
Treatment? Normal? Emre’s mind was flooded with question marks. Had he suffered serious injuries? What had happened earlier?
As Emre recollected, he asked, "What... what happened? And who are you?"
"I am Anthony, the representative of the Star Gods. It seems you were affected by some sort of Bewitching Magic, which caused a slight distortion in your perception of the world. After treatment, you’re back to normal, congratulations." Anthony congratulated him with a smile.
"What? Bewitching Magic? How is that possible?" Emre exclaimed in shock, immediately jumping up and checking himself all over. He found no missing parts. As the dignified Origin Sword Saint, how could he have been affected by Bewitching Magic?
Anthony smiled and shook his head: "I can’t be certain it was Bewitching Magic, but the Star Gods can sense a connection with beings like themselves. However, it seemed like you didn’t recognize them earlier. Do you recognize them now?"
Emre hesitated as he glanced at Ursman and the others. Ursman and the others also leaned in curiously, scrutinizing him.
Seeing the three Star Gods standing close enough to touch—closer than he had ever been before—he immediately felt an unmistakable sense of familiarity.
The Star Progeny Master never allowed him to get this close, and though he could sense Star God Power from them, it was far less distinct compared to the clarity of these three.
But the most distinct was the Star God behind them, whose arms were missing entirely. The Star God’s shoulders twitched, and the space below them extended somewhere unknown. Upon closer inspection, Emre noticed both of their hands had actually reached into another dimension.
Star Gods, being Subordinate Origin entities, could penetrate dimensions without much difficulty. Even so, Ange’s casual, unassuming ease shocked him profoundly. For instance, eating three meals a day isn’t odd, but eating twenty-four hours straight would be terrifying.
Was this figure truly the King of Star Gods? A question popped into Emre’s mind, and dazedly, he responded to Anthony’s question: "These... these are all Star Gods."
"But earlier, that’s not what you believed. What did you see at the time?" Anthony pressed.
"A little girl with wings?" Emre tentatively replied.
Anthony gestured behind him: "Yes, over there. Did you see anything else? Let’s hurry; otherwise, the people you brought are about to fight her."
Turning back, Emre saw the Little Angel continuously shifting positions as she fought against the Fierce Spirits. Occasionally, a Fierce Spirit would explode, emitting a final anguished cry.
On the airships, the humans were in chaos, shouting loudly on the decks. Clearly, they hadn’t anticipated Emre being captured. After a brief uproar, the airships communicated, quickly selecting a new swordsman.
The new swordsman didn’t possess Emre’s strength, but under the unified shouts of the crew, a Heroic Spirit descended upon him.
Seeing this, Anthony—perhaps witnessing Heroic Spirit Possession for the first time—couldn’t help remarking: "This mechanism is quite amusing. Even if someone dies, a new vessel for the Heroic Spirit is immediately chosen, maintaining combat effectiveness."
Emre’s thoughts were in disarray. In moments of chaos, people often unconsciously follow others’ suggestions, just like when deeply engrossed in conversation—the hand instinctively grabs what’s offered, and the ears naturally absorb words.
So Emre instinctively said, "Yes, if we had a powerful Star God leading, all of us could simultaneously undergo Star God Possession, maximizing the utilization of Star God Power and even sharing knowledge and abilities."
"For instance, I’m a Fire Wizard. During joint possession, everyone would immediately gain the ability to use Fire Magic. However, due to affinity, some might not be able to cast it," Emre elaborated.
"It works like that?" Anthony was truly astonished.
When Anthony commented earlier about the mechanism being amusing, he was merely feigning interest. Being so familiar with Orgal, how could he not know the workings of Heroic Spirit Possession? What shocked him were Emre’s revelations about simultaneous Heroic Spirit Possessions. Could that really result in dozens or even hundreds of Spirit Warriors manifesting in one instant?
Damn it, Orgal had never demonstrated this ability before. He had been concealing his strength all along?
When Orgal appeared, he would usually take the lead, with the Heroic Spirit Legion acting as his followers—a mere backdrop. Occasionally, during ambushes like the one against the Mourning Legion, what was displayed were standalone skill enhancements like improved defense or attack—not Heroic Spirit Possession.
That would be akin to the simultaneous descent of Gods—dozens or hundreds at once. How could that be possible?
But now wasn’t the time to dwell on that. Emre seemed to have pieced his thoughts together and said: "Aside from the little girl with wings, I also saw humans, goblins, and black skeletons, but I absolutely didn’t see the four Lord Star Gods."
Anthony shrugged: "But they’re right here, and you couldn’t see them. I suspect something is obscuring your perception."
"But... I... I..." Emre stammered, shifting his gaze back to Ursman and Red Star Walker. He wanted to assert that, as an Origin Sword Saint, it was impossible to be deceived. But looking at the Star Gods before him, the words stuck in his throat.
If he hadn’t been deceived earlier, then he must be deceived now. Otherwise, why hadn’t he been able to see the four Star Gods then?
On one side was a lone entity, and on the other, four Star Gods. The former viewed him with vigilance and suspicion, while the latter treated him with warmth and curiosity. Could he have mistaken the Star Gods?
Anthony didn’t give him much time for contemplation and said, "Will you communicate with your people and have them leave the battlefield? If not, they’ll all be killed."
Anthony spoke while pointing toward Red Star, who suddenly pushed hard behind the Little Angel—Red Star Flash!
A beam of red light struck a Fierce Spirit attempting to launch a sneak attack and shattered it instantly.
Emre sucked in a cold breath. Though Red Star Flash wasn’t as powerful as the Truth Cannon or the enhanced version of Holy Light Flash, it was terrifying in its suddenness—requiring almost no preparation, it could be fired instantly.
At that moment, Emre made up his mind. Regardless of whether he’d mistaken the Star Gods, the strength of these Star Gods was undeniable, and there were four of them—one versus four, the advantage was clear.
Furthermore, it seemed they weren’t asking much of him, merely for his people to leave the battlefield. These Star Gods, so approachable, were undoubtedly better than the other one.
With this in mind, Emre said, "I’ll go call them."
He then flew directly toward the airship fleet, exposing his back. If the Star Gods behind him wanted to stop him, another Red Star Flash would suffice.
If they didn’t stop him, it would be equivalent to regaining his freedom. If they didn’t even restrict his freedom, the likelihood of deception would decrease further.
As he approached the airship formation, Ange and the others did nothing to him. Emre exhaled a long breath and loudly commanded, "Star God Legion, retreat from the battlefield and come to me."
