Chapter 1533: Chapter 1094: Decayed Bones Used as Hard Bones
In the Void, the Great Speaker floated beside a Crystal Dragon, depressingly asking, "Where’s your boss?"
The Crystal Dragon appeared from invisibility, looked down at itself in confusion, seemingly puzzled by how the Great Speaker could see it. But upon realizing the other’s identity, it was relieved and quickly replied, "Our boss? Wasn’t the boss with you?"
The Great Speaker said dejectedly, "Ran off, he said he was going to get something and then disappeared. Where’s your Clan Leader?"
"I don’t know, I haven’t been home for over a month. Our whole clan has scattered to look for the World-Ending Magic Formation. I went this way, the wife went that way, the kids went elsewhere. Our whole family hasn’t seen each other for over a month, the Clan Leader can go wherever he likes." The Crystal Dragon complained incessantly.
The Great Speaker, even more frustrated, tossed the Crystal Dragon around and then drove it away.
What a situation—he was clearly called to help, yet the damn North Corona ran off, leaving him here.
If anyone else dared to treat him like this, he would have already beaten them up and then left, but the other was the North Corona, he really couldn’t just leave. Their background was too strong, and they liked to stir up trouble. But where should he go to find them?
At this thought, Anthony’s image flashed in the Great Speaker’s soul for some unknown reason.
"Kvada, he wouldn’t go looking for those wandering gods, would he? Don’t spoil my affairs, or I’ll beat you into the South Coronet," the Great Speaker was startled and turned to fly towards the Sea of Omniscience.
However, before he could fly far, a message suddenly echoed in his soul: "Lord, help me."
It was Mourning Skeleton Bret’s plea for help.
The Great Speaker knew Bret’s character too well. This loyal Mourning Skeleton would never call for help unless faced with extraordinary danger. Since establishing Soul Contact with him, this was Bret’s first plea for help.
And it shouldn’t be an enemy invasion of Table Mountain, if there were enemies Bret would directly call the Mourning Bone Dragon; in terms of direct combat power, he couldn’t necessarily defeat that fat Bone Dragon.
In this situation, the Great Speaker couldn’t concern himself with Anthony and others, immediately shifting direction, speeding towards the direction of the Zhuo Shan Dimension, while sending a soul message: "What happened?"
"I don’t know, everyone seems sick, they’re fracturing," Bret said urgently, his tone filled with anxiety and panic.
Truly, hearing Bret’s tone, the Great Speaker was somewhat bewildered, suspecting if someone had replaced Bret. The usually composed Mourning Skeleton was so panicked? What kind of disease? Would fracture?
"Who is sick?" the Great Speaker asked.
"Everyone, all of them," Bret said urgently.
"Everyone? Lea?" the Great Speaker asked.
"Lord Lea is currently fine, but many humans are sick, and I’m sick too. This disease seems to be contagious. After infection, one’s body first whitens and then gradually fractures," Bret said.
The Great Speaker asked in astonishment, "Humans are sick, and you’re sick too? You’re the Lord of Mourning, how can you be sick? And even contagious."
The Great Speaker thought he misheard, Bret is undead, still, the Lord of Mourning, how could he possibly be sick?
Bret was almost crying, "Yes, Lord, this disease can even infect Undead. My left hand is infected, I had to remove it, but now there are many silver spots appearing on my body, which seem to be all the places I touched with my left hand before, even my skull. At this rate, it won’t be long before I fracture too, Lord, help me."
The Great Speaker’s soul trembled violently, immediately responding, "I’m coming back right away; you must immediately quarantine everyone to prevent the spread of the disease."
"Lord Lea has already issued quarantine orders, but new cases are still surfacing. I’ve already had Lord Lea relocated, but... but... I touched her during the move. I don’t know if the disease will transmit from me to her; if it does, she might already be infected," Bret said dejectedly.
The dignified Lord of Mourning, Bret had never encountered this situation before. In direct combat, even if facing a hundred Lords of Mourning, he wasn’t afraid.
But the unseen, intangible disease not only could infect him but also humans. If he caused Lea to fall ill, he would die of guilt.
The Great Speaker was also flustered, never having encountered such a situation, unsure of what words of comfort to offer, so he could only repeat, "I’m hurrying back immediately."
Bret suddenly reacted, "No, no, no, Lord, you can’t return. We don’t know where the source of infection is, if you come back and get infected, it’ll be a trouble. Almost forgot, Lord Lea thinks you should find a way to cure it."
The Great Speaker said worriedly, "I don’t even know the situation, where do I find a cure? What disease can infect the Undead? And still cause one to fracture? Who do I turn to?"
Symptoms never seen, diseases never heard of that can infect the Undead, isn’t even known if it’s a disease, maybe it’s some kind of radiation?
Bret said, "Lord Lea said, if you truly can’t think of who to ask, you can try seeking Lord Anthony."
In the Great Speaker’s soul, Anthony’s kindly smiling face flashed again.
"Alright, understood." Terminating the communication with Bret, the Great Speaker stood motionless for a good while, then suddenly rubbed his hands together, tearing open a Space Rift, inserting his hand into it.
Behind the Rift was a rock wall, on the wall was a large Array, the Great Speaker pressed his index and middle fingers on the core of the Array, and instantly, it lit up, pulling the Great Speaker’s consciousness inside.
The Great Speaker’s consciousness swooshed into a chaotic space, all around was gray and hazy, with only one candle-like slender giant figure in front.
The Great Speaker kneeled on one knee, "Greetings, Lord, help me."
A deep voice resonated, "What is it."
"Lord, a strange disease afflicting both humans and Undead has appeared in my territory, causing the infected to fracture and die, it is highly contagious, please rid us of this disease," the Great Speaker respectfully requested.
The enormous figure suddenly waved a hand, and it felt like an invisible giant hand slapped the Great Speaker, sending his whole form flying.
After the slap, the enormous figure flicked its finger twice, two Energy Spheres flew in front of the Great Speaker, and the low voice sounded: "Don’t bother me with such matters, if there’s someone you care about, give it to them, they’ll receive protection."
"Yes, thank you, Lord." Receiving the Energy Spheres, the Great Speaker respectfully thanked and then slowly backed out, retreating from the chaotic space.
The Great Speaker’s consciousness returned to his body, his fingers leaving the Array, withdrawing from the Space Rift, and looking at the two Energy Spheres in his palm, he breathed a sigh of relief.
He knew that even if all the people in the territory died, and Bret and others shattered into dust, to the Lord, it was an insignificant matter. These two Energy Spheres were given only as a favor.
At least Bret and Lea were safe, with the Star Descendant’s protection, no disease could harm them.
But what about the other subjects? He couldn’t just watch them die, is there any other way to heal them? Thinking of this, in the Great Speaker’s soul, Anthony’s old face floated by a third time.
"Using a brittle bone as if it were a hard one," the Great Speaker muttered an Undead saying, turning to fly towards the Sea of Omniscience.
