Chapter 1516: Chapter 1077: The Ability to Increase Others’ Levels
Faith is something unique to intelligent beings, but within a plane, there are not only intelligent beings. The far greater number of inhabitants are various animals and plants. They are also forms of life, and they similarly possess the power of intent.
However, this power cannot be manifested and cannot form tangible entities like Divine Totem Valiant Spirits. In the end, this power accumulates within the plane, converging into a unique force specific to that plane.
In any plane that is filled with abundant life, this force naturally gathers. If a consciousness suddenly emerges from it, that would be the Plane Consciousness, or also called the Spirit of the Earth.
Of course, in a plane like the Sea of Omniscience, where its surface is entirely covered by water, it could also give birth to a Plane Consciousness. In such an environment, calling it the Spirit of the Earth does not seem appropriate, so the general term Plane Consciousness is used instead.
As Kram explained the concept of Plane Consciousness, Negris and the others whispered among themselves, "Does every plane have one? Then does the Master Plane or Star Burst Plane also have one? Impossible, right? If every plane has one, how is it that none were ever born for these?"
"Could it be that the rules here are different from those of the Chaos Plane? No, all the rules are the same. The only difference is that the creatures here seem to have some additional Origin Power. That alone shouldn’t cause such a difference—there must be another reason," Anthony speculated.
"Could it be that because there’s a bit more Origin Power, their intent power differs as well?" Negris guessed.
"If it’s because of the additional Origin Power, then the only difference should be restricted to the Gods, since Origin Power is only present in intelligent life forms," countered Durken.
The group whispered for quite a while without reaching a conclusion, even as Kram was nearing the end of his explanation. Finally, Negris looked toward Ange.
Ange tilted his head and said, "No, Chaos Mist."
Negris slapped his hip sharply and had a sudden realization. "The intent of the creatures from the Chaos Plane returns to the Chaos Plane, forming the Chaos Mist. It doesn’t accumulate within the plane itself, so no Plane Consciousness is born."
Anthony also suddenly came to an understanding and said, "Or perhaps Plane Consciousness did already emerge before—wasn’t the Ancient Godlight itself a Plane Consciousness?"
The Ancient Godlight mentioned here was, naturally, not the Primordial Divine Light but rather a later emergence, one that led to the explosion of the Primordial Divine Light and ultimately perished at Ange’s hands. According to Kram’s descriptions, the Ancient Godlight was very similar to a Plane Consciousness.
"That makes sense. In fact, Ancient Gods are somewhat similar to Plane Consciousness, such as beings of the level of the Iron Scale Cleaner. Therefore, in this plane, the lifeforms’ intent power accumulates within the plane, making it easier for a Plane Consciousness to emerge. But in the Chaos Plane, the intent power returns to the Chaos Plane itself, forming vast swaths of Chaos Mist and giving rise to countless Ancient Gods," Negris analyzed.
After these whispered deductions, everyone suddenly had a much clearer understanding of Plane Consciousness. They realized such entities are born within a plane and are similar in essence to the Ancient Godlight.
"Hiss... similar to the Ancient Godlight? That level is quite high," Negris couldn’t help but gasp.
What level was the Ancient Godlight, after all? If every Plane Consciousness was at such a level, even Ange’s true form might not hold any advantage.
"Not as extreme as the Ancient Godlight. The energy levels are worlds apart. However, each has their own unique abilities, which makes them troublesome all the same," Anthony said, scratching his chin with a troubled expression.
As their hushed discussion continued, Kram finished his lecture, and Anthony quickly asked, "By the way, what exactly are the Celestial Descendant Clan?"
"They’re the Celestial Descendant Clan," Kram replied.
"And what are their distinguishing features?" Anthony pressed.
Kram looked around in mild frustration, then suddenly pointed at Bapos and said, "They look like him but possess the power of a Star God, which he doesn’t."
Everyone turned their gaze toward Bapos. At this moment, Bapos was still pinned to the ground by a Wand, occasionally struggling against it in vain. He was the classic kind of prisoner who refused to accept his fate, twitching and resisting every now and then, contrasted with those who resigned themselves entirely. Clearly, Bapos was the latter type.
"Like him? A candle?" Negris remarked in surprise.
North Corona and Bapos were both draped in long cloaks that wrapped around to the front. Due to their towering height, they indeed looked like candles—thin and tall.
"North Corona is part of the Celestial Descendant Clan? What powers do they have?" Anthony exclaimed in wonder.
Unfortunately, they hadn’t come into close contact with North Corona before and had no way of sensing any potential power. It was like being told over a communicator that someone had a certain odor—you wouldn’t understand it unless you’d personally experienced it before.
At least they now had one clue: members of the Celestial Descendant Clan resembled Bapos in appearance—tall and thin.
"Anything else? Any other distinguishing features?" Anthony pressed.
Kram pondered deeply for a while before frustratingly admitting, "Although I know what the Celestial Descendant Clan is, summarizing their characteristics is truly difficult. There’s one trait that might count—they can drastically enhance the power of others."
"Drastically enhance? By how much?" Anthony asked.
"Several fold, perhaps. They can elevate other beings to higher realms," Kram explained.
Negris reacted with astonishment. "Higher realms? Upgrades? They can upgrade other beings?"
Kram clapped his hands in realization. "Yes, upgrade! They can raise the tiers of other beings. I once saw one of them elevate a Dragonkin to the level of a true Giant Dragon."
"Hiss—upgrading a Dragonkin into a Giant Dragon? Could they also upgrade an Iron Skin Zombie into a Mourning Zombie?" Anthony drew in a sharp breath, horrified by the thought of Mourning Undead Soldiers.
No one could provide an answer. Kram, after all, had been imprisoned for an unknown number of years. During the time of his confinement, this place didn’t even have a well-established calendar. Several timelines from the Fei Lie Empire and the Divine Light Alliance were mentioned by Silver Coin, but Kram was unfamiliar with them all.
At that moment, the Abyss of World-Ending slowly came to a halt. Kram asked, "We’ve arrived at the place you mentioned. Which way now?"
"Can you see a large cluster of broken stone and meteorite plane fragments? Fly into it and hide. This is near the Violet Underground City. There’s a sizable abyssal ruin here, which makes it difficult to be discovered," Silver Coin instructed.
The Violet Underground City, the Sea of Omniscience, the Undead City—all of these were located in the same region of the Void, called the Leo Faction. It was one of the six major factions of the Divine Light Alliance, with its Master Plane being the Court of Leo.
This zone of the Void was so vast that even a Crystal Dragon flying continuously would require seven to eight days to traverse from one end to the other.
As long as they created sufficient distance, even forty Crystal Dragons, let alone a thousand scattering Crystal Stones, would struggle to locate a single Array in the pitch-black Void.
"The chaos here is just like the Land of Shattering. No wonder the Violet faction chose this as their headquarters. If they pile up fragments of stone and meteorites on the surface, even North Corona wouldn’t be able to recognize it," Anthony remarked as he glanced out at the surroundings.
"Makes sense—bury it under debris and alter the Array’s appearance. It’s like repainting a carriage; how could anyone recognize it?" Negris agreed.
"Simple enough. I’ll have the Violet faction bring people over. It’ll take them just a day or two to get it done," Silver Coin said, then walked aside and retrieved a communication magic tool.
After placing the call and exchanging only a few words, Silver Coin suddenly turned back and shouted urgently, "My lord! Roland is dead! The Heisuo Mercenary Group has allied with six other mercenary groups and is attacking the Underground City!"
