Chapter 1468: Chapter 1029: Hitting Them with Grain
"That’s awesome, there’s actually such a good thing? What denomination? How many believers?" Anthony asked, excited and eager, ready to teleport to the Court of Rio, but was stopped by Silver Coin.
Then Silver Coin gave them another set of coordinates, telling them to teleport there and regroup. Looking at the teleportation array that lacked a name and only had a string of marker symbols, Anthony nodded thoughtfully: "Seems like the Court of Rio is heavily guarded."
Don’t be fooled by Ange handcrafting teleportation arrays casually, making it seem as if traveling anywhere is easy. In fact, those teleportation points are all in unguarded locations.
If it were a well-defended plane, there would first be a coordination mechanism akin to a ’Plane Security Council.’ This mechanism can mobilize the strength of the entire plane to hunt down invaders.
Additionally, the Prime Material Plane possesses plane barriers, leading to teleportation arrays generally being configured in areas where these barriers are weaker, which are marked for identification.
Just like when Titans were hunted down in the past, they used the marked locations to set up temporary teleportation points, continuously mobilizing forces until the Titans were left panting in exhaustion.
If someone forcibly breached the plane barriers, it would create significant commotion. The Plane Security Council has detection mechanisms, and upon sensing the disturbance, would mobilize forces for encirclement and elimination.
If Ange hadn’t turned the Plane Security Council into his own personal establishment at that time, he definitely would’ve been hunted down as well, just like how the Titans were.
Of course, to efficiently mobilize the entire plane’s strength, the mechanism needs to be well-designed. Otherwise, flaws abound, and invaders teleport in while defensive forces take half a month to respond—how could you possibly defend then?
Given Silver Coin’s cautious demeanor, the Court of Rio’s defenses must be extremely stringent.
The group teleported to the new coordinates, which turned out to be a dungeon-like space. Upon stepping out of the teleportation array, they saw a city spreading out along an axis.
All the buildings were low and crude, some even just tents made from two pieces of cloth. Various creatures gathered around the teleportation array in the plaza, some engaging in loud conversations while others whispered discreetly.
Ange couldn’t help but look around a few more times as the environment here bore an uncanny resemblance to the Lich Underground City in the Resting Abyss. The harmonious coexistence of creatures from various races created an incredibly lively atmosphere.
While Ange merely found it somewhat similar to the Lich Underground City, Anthony instantly spotted the key difference: "Looks like there’s a powerful figure here."
The Lich Underground City maintains order thanks to Feilin. If this place upholds order, there must be a similarly strong individual or organization like Feilin here.
As they were pondering this, the teleportation array activated once more. With a flash of intense light, Silver Coin arrived, bringing along a group.
Upon seeing Ange and the others, Silver Coin quickly waved at the people he brought. The group dispersed in an orderly fashion, heading off in different directions, leaving only two attendants behind. Silver Coin briskly ran over to pay his respects: "My Lords—Lord Nage, Lord Anthony."
Anthony glanced at the dispersed crowd and asked, "What is this place? Who’s in charge here? The order is rather impressive."
Silver Coin scratched his head: "Eh? This is our territory. Oh, the Violet territory. Right now, I’m the one in charge."
"Pfft—so this is Violet Mercenary Group’s land? How big can a mercenary group’s territory be?" Nagri asked. Not only was the land massive, the main issue was the dense population. If it were an Abyss Dimension devoid of inhabitants, size wouldn’t matter.
"This is nothing. With the equipment provided by Lord Durken, Roland and the others are currently doing some shady business, sweeping away local criminal forces. Soon, the territory will be even larger," Silver Coin said dismissively.
The Violet Mercenary Group’s personnel were decent but previously lacked proper equipment. Now, each had a Dragon-patterned Steel Core Crystal-coated Sword, an authentic Double Crystal-Coated Fighting Cape, and a personal Teleportation Scroll, along with Grieving Undead Ziora. Their overall strength had skyrocketed.
With such power, they were among the elite in the circle of criminal forces, aside from a few god-level mercenary groups like the Heisuo Mercenary Group that once captured a Prime Mourning Skeleton. The others didn’t warrant much attention.
While Ange and his group were running around randomly, the Violet members had paid a hefty price to teleport multiple times via different arrays, eventually returning to the Divine Light Alliance. They were now fully engaged in their shady dealings.
"So this is our territory? Then this teleportation array is far too rudimentary—short range, unstable connection, poor safety, no defenses or forced interruption capabilities. The city’s planning is lacking, the spatial utilization is inefficient, functional zone distribution is unreasonable, and traffic flow layouts are conflicting..." Upon realizing it was their own territory, Durken immediately shifted his perspective and began picking faults.
Silver Coin turned back and gestured for one of the attendants to come over. He handed the attendant a silver coin, tasking him with leading Durken away: "With the King of Alchemy designing the layout here, we’ll definitely be able to extort Roland later."
Returning to the main topic, Anthony asked, "What denomination? How many believers?"
"Around a hundred thousand core believers and over ten million casual believers. They worship..." Here Silver Coin glanced at Nagri, "...the Omniscient God, who is proclaimed to be the all-knowing and all-powerful deity."
"Pfft—" Not only Nagri but even Anthony couldn’t help bursting out laughing. Isn’t that just the God of Knowledge?
"How did they go bankrupt?" Anthony queried.
"It’s a long story. Lord Anthony, is it really possible to buy them out and rebrand?" Silver Coin asked.
Anthony replied, "Absolutely. Historically, this sort of thing has happened repeatedly. As long as we control the authority to interpret their scriptures, we can completely take over their faith system under the guise of a new denomination. We could even rebrand it as the Nage Sect, Silver Coin Sect, Lutherism, or Calvinism, for instance."
"Can we seize their god status?" Silver Coin inquired further.
Anthony mulled over the question: "That depends. If the Master God has already perished and the god status has shattered, you’ll need to relight the Divine Fire, like Lisa did. If the god status isn’t shattered, but the Master God has merely fallen, seizing the god status would be straightforward—just beat it up."
"But for a faith system, its believers and its name are far more critical. Whether there’s a god status doesn’t really matter. Why do you want the god status?" Anthony asked.
Hearing this, Nagri was puzzled and interrupted: "Wait, why is a god status unimportant?"
Anthony explained, "It doesn’t matter to me. I can convince the non-believers to join us anyway. Having the name just makes it easier to persuade them."
Nagri felt defeated. Convincing believers was extraordinarily challenging for him. Without a god status, he could only act as a mere interpreter.
Returning to the subject at hand, Silver Coin rubbed his nose with a peculiar expression: "Because the Omniscient God stored all the grain in the Sea of Omniscience. Without a god status, we can’t unlock the restrictions on the Sea of Omniscience to access the grain. The Church of Omniscience has already gone bankrupt and is on the verge of starvation."
"Pfft... No wonder you want to buy them out. Are you planning to crush them with grain if you can’t access the Sea of Omniscience? Borrow some from Ange and use the grain to demolish them?" Nagri asked.
