Chapter 1342 - Chapter 1342 Chapter 903 That Fool is Begging for Attention

Chapter 1342: Chapter 903: That Fool is Begging for Attention Again Chapter 1342: Chapter 903: That Fool is Begging for Attention Again Anthony, clutching a bone stick and emanating a holy light, whooshed into the sky.

Left behind were Little Bone, Negris, and Emil, who looked at one another in confusion.

Emil hesitantly asked, “Who was that person? He looked so wicked, I felt like Lord Adams was about to cry.”

“That was the Pope of Light; you can address him as ‘Your Holiness,'” Negris said.

“Pfft–The Pope? Uh, in terms of rank, who is higher, a Divine Envoy or the Pope?” Emil whispered.

“The Pope is the highest-ranking Divine Envoy–God’s Spokesperson. His words represent God’s will, and sometimes even God listens to him,” Negris explained with hands on hips.

“No wonder he seemed so kind yet imposing. So he is God’s Spokesperson, a symbol of divine majesty, and yet carries the mercy of a Pope, a harmonious unity of divinity and humanity,” Emil said solemnly, full of admiration.

Negris couldn’t help but glimpse at Little Bone, thinking, How did this paladin become as slick as Little Bone?

After Emil spoke, he shifted the topic, “So, where do we head to now?”

Thinking back to the key points Anthony whispered to him before leaving, Negris said with a slight headache, “We’re off to a big city, which one is more developed in terms of beauty care?”

Emil immediately grimaced, “How would I know? I’m just a poor paladin from some backwater area; I haven’t even seen a naked woman, let alone know about beauty care.”

Negris, feeling a sense of solidarity, patted his shoulder and sighed sympathetically.

“Not sure about beauty care, then how about places rich in resources, where harvests are bountiful year-round, you should know that, right?”

“I don’t know where the resources are plentiful, but I do know a place that enjoys abundant harvests every year–it’s Harvest Country. The land is infertile there, yet the harvests are always abundant. Everyone calls it the land blessed by the Harvest Goddess,” Emil explained.

“That’s the place, how do we get there? Take us,” Negris slapped his hip decisively.

“It’s quite far. We have to leave the Land of Death first, then go to a major city on the edge of the desert, and find a Teleportation Array to get there. But I have no money,” Emil said, patting his empty pockets.

Negris was stunned, then turned towards Little Bone, “I have no money either, oh heavens, how could I forget that detail? I haven’t used money in so long that I even forgot we need it to use the Teleportation Array. Had I known, I would have asked Anthony for some; he cheated thousands of men out of their private stashes up there. What do we do? What can we do without money?”

Little Bone cocked its head to the side, “Rob?”

“Great idea, I’ll leave it to you. Rob whoever looks like they have money,” Negris agreed immediately.

Emil began to question if he had misheard. How could a Libra Knight suggest such a thing? Was this really the Libra Knight of fairness and justice?

Little Bone paused for a moment, then seemed to remember something, and pulled out a bag of Soul Crystals, tossing one to Big Bird before revealing it to Negris.

Originally, when escorting the silver ingot, it collected a commission of ten thousand Soul Crystals. Later, to avoid being hassled, Little Bone had fled without even claiming the final payment. So now, it had over ten thousand Soul Crystals on hand.

“You have money, so much of it? And you still said we should rob?” Negris was so angry his mustache twitched. Having money yet still fooling him into contemplating robbery, wasn’t this just setting him up? This Dead Skull.

Little Bone scratched its head, for it had actually forgotten, as it had never had the habit of spending money.

“Actually, we could first loot the enemies’ bodies, since those are spoils of war, but let me judge them first,” Emil weakly raised his hand, pointing at the surrounding sand thieves.

When the numerous sand thieves came to, they discovered that everything valuable on them had vanished into thin air, and even the valuables in the village were completely looted, including the gold ingots poured into the deity statues.

Their leader and the chiefs of the sand thieves had also disappeared, and a bright red imprint of the God of Balance had appeared on all of the sand thieves.

The imprint was bright red, as if it had been stained with fresh blood before being stamped onto their bodies. Many rubbed it in confusion, finding it impossible to remove.

Insignificant and irremovable, most gave up trying to get rid of it. Realizing the disappearance of their leader and chiefs, they guessed that their fates were grim, and the thought of disbanding suddenly rose among them.

One fierce sand thief shouted loudly, “Let’s go join the Rapid Wolf Association. I’ve wanted to join them for a long time. They commit all kinds of atrocities without restraint, unlike us, living so…”

He was cut off mid-sentence when he suddenly noticed that the gazes of the sand thieves around him turned to him with alarm, all focusing on the imprint on his forehead.

As the fierce sand thief reached to touch it, he found he couldn’t feel his forehead at all. The spot where the imprint was seemed to disintegrate and burn away, continuously crumbling and burning until he was ‘burned’ away right in front of everyone’s eyes.

Emil was both shocked and excited as he looked at the ring on his hand with a clear imprint of Libra on it, “So, the weighing of good and evil, the descent of judgment, is real? Oh my God, the guilty are instantly reduced to ashes. Why didn’t it have this effect before?”

The leader and chiefs of the sand thieves had disappeared because, as soon as the imprint of Libra was stamped on them, their sins were immediately weighed and then they were burned to ash.

Those whose sins did not meet the standard for death were temporarily spared until they harbored evil thoughts again, at which point, old and new sins would be reckoned together.

Regrettably, Emil had never achieved this effect himself; it was all for show, to intimidate people by stamping them, and if they offended him again, they would be executed. That had been the extent of it.

Unimpressed, Negris replied, “You are a Divine Envoy now, don’t make such a fuss. Can you move more quickly? Your horse is too slow; it can’t even outrun an ostrich.”

An ostrich? Big Bird turned its head blankly.

Emil couldn’t help but give a wry smile. What could he do? Live four-legged horses couldn’t outrun two-legged Undead Phoenixes. Big Bird’s long, slender legs took strides that equaled several steps of a horse’s, leaving the horse panting with its tongue out, requiring a switch to another horse.

It was stop-and-go like this, and after three days, they finally reached the nearest city with a Teleportation Array. Paying ten Soul Crystals, the two men and two horses were transported to Harvest Country with Negris not requiring payment.

Stepping out of the Teleportation Array, Negris immediately understood why this place was barren compared to the fertile Harvest Country.

Outside the Teleportation Array was a towering canyon, and the cliffs on either side had been terraced into layers upon layers of farmland, each planted with various crops. Massive water wheels were built against the cliff faces, dipping into the river at the bottom of the canyon, endlessly drawing water up the cliffs to irrigate the crops on every level.

With such a meticulous arrangement, even the barren cliffs were bursting with bountiful harvests.

Just then, a naive voice sounded by the side of the Teleportation Array, “Such pure light, can you, give me the light?”

Negris turned to look and saw a woman with disheveled hair and dirty clothes, holding a laundry bucket, staring blankly at Emil.

Negris’s eyes lit up, but before he could say anything, a mocking laughter came from not far away, “That fool is asking for light again. Who knows if she’s really looking for light or for a man. She might as well strip naked and let men touch her; she could have any man she wanted then.”
