Chapter 1280 - Chapter 1280 Chapter 843 Stay as Far Away as Possible
Chapter 1280: Chapter 843: Stay as Far Away as Possible Chapter 1280: Chapter 843: Stay as Far Away as Possible The Monarch materialized a small stool, squatted on it, with the Scythe of Death resting on his left shoulder, casually watching as he pulled out a nut and leisurely cracked it open.
Ange saw his posture, and familiar memories immediately surged into his soul. Back on the farm, hadn’t the Old Skeleton Lord always squatted like that on the farm’s ridges? Only before, the tool resting on his shoulder was a hoe.
Noticing Ange looking over, the Monarch smiled and lifted the nut in his palm, showing it off, then picked one and flicked it with his index finger.
The nut turned into a shadow and shot out with a whoosh, flying right in front of Ange.
Ange was in the middle of pulling people out, his hands occupied, so he could only tilt his head as a white-boned hand emerged from his body and grabbed the nut, and then the Undead God slowly rose from Ange’s body, looking at the nut in his hand.
It was actually a real nut, not just an empty material manifestation, but it was no surprise that the Monarch could manifest material objects. What was surprising was that it carried some additional information.
The Undead God gently crushed the nut, and the attached information immediately entered Ange’s soul.
The amount of information wasn’t large; Ange nearly instantly finished reading it and twisted his head in shock.
The Monarch nodded with a smile, “This is the secret of the Void.”
Noticing their interaction, Negris couldn’t help but fly over, asking curiously, “What are you secretly talking about?”
Ange, while continuing to pull people out, replied, “The King said, ‘It’s a secret.'”
“Pfft–secret and he tells you? What kind of secret can you listen to that I can’t? Damn, Old Immortal, you’re playing favorites.” On the last remark, Negris shouted at the Monarch.
Nonchalantly cracking nuts, the Monarch slowly said, “This secret you cannot handle. Not telling you is for your own good.”
“Not handle? It’s just a secret. What’s wrong with listening? I can listen and forget if you want, pah, I… hmph.”
Negris was so frustrated he wanted to curse ‘may you be crossed crossed’ or something, but as soon as the thought arose, an ominous feeling immediately surfaced in his heart, and images of the Serpent of Misfortune’s offspring Sisi cursing the consequences of their rotting mouth corners flashed through his mind, causing him to swallow the words he was about to say.
Ange pulled out a bunch of Chaotic Holy Spirits and, adeptly following the domain boundary, laid them out, then he began his performance.
Unlike before when he poured things into the Abyss Ball, the acceleration matrix of the Chaotic Holy Spirit could only be laid on one side; ahead lay the boundary of the realm, which prevented further laying, so the accelerated range was only half of what it used to be.
This caused Ange’s shooting speed to greatly decrease, but it was enough to send the New Dark Source into a panic. Watching the continuous stream shoot into the Energy Orb, it roared angrily, and darkness spread from the Energy Orb, swiftly enveloping the entire realm’s range.
Ange could only see darkness ahead; the New Dark Source, the Dark Energy Ball, and even the Monarch were all engulfed in darkness, and the front presented a matte black bubble appearance – the true face of the Absolute Dark Realm.
Ange tilted his head; now he couldn’t see the point of impact. Although he could use his memory to hit the original point through the darkness, the stream seemed to be experiencing some sort of delay, and it was uncertain if it had landed in the original position.
Ange scratched his head and was just about to try a different tactic, when the black bubble suddenly burst, and the darkness that had expanded snapped back quickly, revealing the Monarch and the New Dark Source, except the revealed New Dark Source had broken into eighteen or nineteen pieces again.
The Monarch slung the scythe back over his shoulder and muttered, “Am I dying? Wait, that doesn’t sound right. I am already dead. Am I… what’s a good word? Paralyzed? That works, makes sense.”
As the Monarch mumbled to himself, he floated back to his original spot and crouched down.
The shattered remnants of the New Dark Source, broken into seventeen or eighteen pieces, stared with wide eyes, reluctantly falling back into the Dark Energy Ball. As long as the Monarch was around, it could forget about unleashing the full power of the Absolute Dark Realm.
“Alright, that makes things much easier,” Ange resumed his original pace, continuing to shoot Holy Dark Elements mixed with impurities into the Energy Orb.
Perhaps realizing it would gain nothing from popping up again, the New Dark Source simply didn’t appear any longer. Without an enemy to fight, the whole scene became very boring.
After watching for a while and seeing Ange methodically guiding the stream, one hand reached back into the space again.
“This Dead Skull is playing around again,” Negris muttered powerlessly before shouting at the Monarch, “Hey, Old Immortal, this so-called Absolute Dark Realm doesn’t seem so tough after all. How could you be trapped by something like this? Are you getting old and losing your edge?”
“Come and stay inside for a while and see if you’re up to it,” the Monarch retorted, as he casually threw a nut towards the ground. The moment the nut moved a certain distance from the Monarch, it suddenly swerved sharply and plummeted straight into the central Dark Energy Ball.
Indeed, within the realm, there was an incredibly strong force pulling every piece of matter and energy into the central Energy Sphere. However, because the Monarch looked utterly unaffected–with a breeze at his back and clear skies over his head–Negris had completely failed to notice this force.
The Monarch continued, “If I hadn’t repeatedly struck it down, preventing it from fully launching the Absolute Dark, the entire realm would be enveloped in darkness. Everything would have been corroded, dissolved, and ultimately assimilated by the darkness, myself included.”
“What?” Negris exclaimed in shock, anxiously asking, “What about Locke? Can Locke hold on? They’ve been inside for so long. Won’t there be trouble? Ange, stop messing around, think of a way to speed things up. We don’t want to end up with just a skeleton of Locke when this is over.”
“Oh,” Ange replied noncommittally.
The Monarch wasn’t in any hurry at all, speaking leisurely, “If Locke were trapped inside alone, he wouldn’t last a few days. But with that… Little Dark Source there, it seems the Dark Origin can’t use all its darkness, so there’s no trouble for the time being.”
“Temporary? How long is that temporary? And what does it take to get this done?” Negris asked.
At the moment, Negris didn’t even know what achieving their goal looked like. He only knew that Ange was mixing blessed Holy Dark Element into the dark energy, but at what proportion was needed for success, he had no idea.
The Monarch’s laid-back demeanor was more irritating than a tree, but then again, it made sense. Even a long-lived tree only lives for a hundred thousand years, while the Old Immortal is eternal. If he truly wanted to relax, what tree could ever be more leisurely than him?
He said, “That I don’t know, but it doesn’t matter. Even if Locke ends up as just a skeleton, he’ll still be that resilient bone–bone–Kvada, what are you doing!”
The Monarch’s expression changed drastically at the end, and he jumped up involuntarily, surprised at his own loss of composure for the first time.
Negris also sensed a powerful energy reaction behind him and, turning his head, saw Ange letting Little Sapling spit out the Abyss Ball.
Hearing the Monarch’s words, Ange tilted his head in confusion, “No playing, speeding up.”
“Pfft–Negris just asked you to stop goofing around, not to blow up the Chaos Plane! What is this abomination? What have you sealed inside of it? Don’t point it at me!” The Monarch dodged as far away as possible, finding himself at the edge of the realm that was perpendicular and ninety degrees from Ange’s position, centered around the Energy Orb.
