Chapter 1267 - Chapter 1267 Chapter 830 Burned Out
Chapter 1267: Chapter 830: Burned Out Chapter 1267: Chapter 830: Burned Out Ange leaped forward, initiating a Space Solidification.
However, the Space Solidification only lasted for seven seconds before it could no longer withstand the strain and shattered, unleashing rolling waves of heat that radiated outward, accompanied by a dazzling bright light of extreme intensity, since the Space Solidification had solidified the light and heat for a full seven seconds, which now burst forth in unison.
Immediately, the surrounding plants and earth caught fire, quickly turning into a blackened expanse and rolling outwards.
Having already taken shelter at a great distance, Anthony and Negriss were still scorched by the heat wave. Their hair and scales singed instantaneously, prompting them to simultaneously summon their Consciousness Bodies.
“Kvada, why is the temperature so high? How many degrees is it?” Negriss asked in shock.
This temperature exceeded its comprehension; it wasn’t a temperature that could be achieved under normal conditions. Normal lava only reached between seven hundred to twelve hundred degrees, and even the flames of the God of Forging only reached up to seventeen or eighteen hundred degrees.
Ange had just drained the surrounding Fire Element and infused the Black Stone, generating a temperature of over three thousand six hundred degrees, a rare high temperature for this world, achievable only by certain Ancient Gods’ Secret Techniques or Fire Gods.
With a rough understanding of the situation, Anthony and others took shelter at what they believed was a safe distance, thinking that even three thousand six hundred degrees or an explosion of Ancient Black Stone wouldn’t affect them.
However, things far exceeded everyone’s expectations. The extreme heat directly scorched them, and though the accumulated effect of Space Solidification provided some protection, it still far surpassed everyone’s understanding–this was definitely not an effect achievable by mere thousands of degrees.
Ange scratched his head, hesitating for the first time as he said, “One… million, and now… six thousand.”
Negriss was baffled, “One thousand? Impossible. Ten thousand? Was it ten thousand degrees just now? That high?”
Ange scratched his head and corrected, “Point ignited, ten million degrees, now, six thousand.”
“Puff… Ten million degrees? Point ignited to ten million degrees? Are you kidding? Did you see it wrong? Or is your Ring of Balance broken?” Negriss almost spat out blood.
One thousand, ten thousand–he could understand, but ten million? What kind of nonsense was that?
A farmer who had never seen a thousand would feel similar to Negriss now if suddenly confronted with ten million–it was a figure completely beyond his comprehension.
Ange shook his head. He didn’t know either, but this was indeed what the Ring of Balance measured. The duration was very brief, only at the precise moment of ignition, as Tom and Lorca had said it ‘burned on its own’ for an instant, reaching that temperature, then quickly decreased, now stabilizing around six thousand degrees.
Anthony and Negriss looked at each other, facing such an incomprehensible number, they didn’t know how to react.
At that moment, Durken, who had been silent, suddenly spoke, “When I first learned Alchemy, I heard a theory that all substances in the world could burn, as long as the temperature was high enough. Now that this black stone has ignited, could it be that the temperature was high enough?”
“There’s such a theory? Why haven’t I heard of it?” Negriss wondered aloud.
Durken replied, “My Alchemy studies are from an era long past, you might have still been an egg then. I remember it was from ‘The 64 Conjectures of Ultimate Thermal Alchemy.'”
Anthony frowned and thought, then suddenly his face showed an embarrassed expression, “I think I’ve seen that book of Alchemy; it has all kinds of bizarre descriptions, including one that states: Any substance can burn, as long as the ignition temperature is high enough.”
“Exactly, that’s the one, your memory is really good; I only remember a rough idea,” said Durken.
“Can remember that? Not right, ah, you don’t even practice Alchemy, randomly flipped through a book and you remember so clearly?” Negriss eyed Anthony up and down suspiciously.
“If it’s a book that interests Anthony, it wouldn’t be strange if he remembered something after reading it, but how could he remember a line from a completely unrelated book just by casually flipping through it? That’s just absurd; he’s not the God of Knowledge.”
Anthony showed a rare embarrassed expression, “Because in the whole book, I only understood this one sentence. The rest, like ‘the world descends into chaos,’ ‘the void is endless,’ ‘all powers will eventually unite,’ I couldn’t understand any of it. It felt less like an alchemy book and more like a holy scripture.”
No wonder Anthony could remember it. He recognized all the words in the book but didn’t understand what they meant when put together in a sentence, except for the one line he got.
“Where is the book now?” Negriss had a bad feeling.
“It was burned,” Anthony said sheepishly.
“Damn it, you civilization destroyer,” Negriss exclaimed angrily.
Anthony lunged at him and grabbed his neck, “You cursed me again, quick, spit and swallow the curse back.”
“Ptui, ptui, ptui.”
While everyone was debating and discussing, Ange suddenly turned his head towards the Little Sapling on his shoulder, only to see the Little Sapling earnestly waving the True Leaf, sending intense signals towards the burning Black Stone: Push–Grow–Push–Grow–
From the moment the Ancient Black Stone was ignited, the Little Sapling had been ceaselessly waving the True Leaf. Ange hadn’t paid much attention, but now, he couldn’t help but turn his head because, under the Little Sapling’s encouragement, golden specks slowly coalesced in the space around them, drifting towards the Little Sapling.
These golden specks, gathering together, floated over the Little Sapling’s head like a ribbon of light, gently cascading down, sprinkling over its True Leaves, lateral leaves, and buds.
A light! A new bud sprouted atop the Little Sapling.
As soon as the bud appeared, the golden specks, like homing birds finding their nest, rushed into the new bud.
Ange, sharing life with it, only felt a pure energy continuously flowing into his Primordial Body.
This involuntary made Ange tilt his head.
Honestly, Ange’s level of power was so high now, ordinary energy meant little to him, much like an Archmage drinking Magic Potion after Magic Potion would not suffice to replenish his vast sea of Magic Power.
But now, Ange felt this influx of energy, transferred from the symbiotic Little Sapling, indicating this energy was incredibly pure.
What kind of energy was this? Ange motioned with his hand, and some specks flew onto his palm.
Seeing his action, Negriss curiously leaned forward, “What are you doing?”
Ange passed the little specks closer to him.
“Is there something there? Is there something in your hand?” Negriss asked, puzzled.
Ange tilted his head. Negriss couldn’t see? That meant this wasn’t normal energy specks but some kind of belief-level energy.
Just then, the burning specks suddenly extinguished, and the Ancient Black Stone had burned out.
