Chapter 1266 - Chapter 1266 Chapter 829 The Monarch... Has Gone Missing

Chapter 1266: Chapter 829: The Monarch… Has Gone Missing Again Chapter 1266: Chapter 829: The Monarch… Has Gone Missing Again “I curse you… Bada…” A new voice cursed, then swiftly fell silent.

“Hey, hey, hey, don’t go just yet, let’s chat for a bit. Void Will, the Undead Ruler wants to invite you…” Anthony stopped abruptly.

However, after a long wait, the new voice didn’t reappear. Instead, the sound of octopus eggs emerged, drowsy and confused, “What did you do to me?”

Anthony’s expression darkened as he murmured, “This is trouble.”

“What’s the trouble? What does the Old Immortal want with him? How come I don’t know about this?” Negris asked in confusion.

Could it be the Old Immortal had whispered something to Anthony? But that’s not right; he was there when they spoke. Could it be a secret conversation through Soul Contact?

“That’s why it’s troublesome,” Anthony whispered. “Hearing me say this, wouldn’t you be curious about what Your Majesty said? But he wasn’t curious, he just retreated.”

“There are two possibilities: either he doesn’t recognize Your Majesty, so he’s not interested in whatever Your Majesty said, or secondly, he’s met Your Majesty and knows where he is,” Anthony said.

“You were trying to trick him? Perhaps he realized you were trying to scam him, and that’s why he retreated,” Negris said, surprised.

Anthony shook his head, “Although that’s possible, I can dismiss this idea. Accidentally tricking him like this would suggest a lack of intelligence, which I think can be ignored.”

To have tricked the voice into revealing itself had truly taken Anthony by surprise. As a millennia-old Godman, setting traps was almost his instinct; whether there were dates in the tree or not, he’d shake it anyway, it wasn’t a hassle, so he was surprised he managed to trick anything out.

Octopus eggs could contaminate the consciousness of others through the Black Stone, so it stood to reason other consciousnesses could contaminate it via the Black Stone. Anthony was just making a logical inference, but who could have expected to trick a new consciousness into revealing itself?

Those capable of contaminating a Primordial God-like the octopus eggs through the Black Stone were certainly few, and the most likely were the few Primordial Gods themselves. So Anthony casually guessed Void Will, but the response from this entity was startlingly alarming–they didn’t deny it immediately.

The first reaction of this consciousness was to curse, the second was to retreat, but there was no denial whatsoever. Such instinctive reactions are likely the most truthful, so they merit deep consideration.

With this in mind, Anthony turned to Ange and said, “Sir, is it possible to contact His Majesty to ensure his safety?”

Ange had no Soul Contact with the Undead King and had no subordination relationship either, so he could only try indirect methods of contact.

After some attempts, Ange said, “Monarch, gone.”

“What? The Old Immortal is missing again? Isn’t the Dark Origin with him? How can he be missing?” Negris asked.

“The darkness, gone,” Ange said blankly.

“Ptuh! The Dark Origin is gone too? When did it disappear? Don’t you have a Soul Contact with it? You didn’t notice its absence? Did you ignore this information?” Negris burst out, exasperated.

Ange scratched his head in vexation and said, “Soul Contact exists, but the person is not on this plane.”

For Ange to be troubled, the situation had to be unprecedented, indescribable even–and now it was. Yet, surprisingly, Negris seemed to understand it clearly.

“So you’re saying the Soul Contact with it still remains? It’s still alive but just not in this dimension?” Negris interpreted.

Ange quickly nodded his head.

The Dark Origin was now a peculiar existence–it’s Primordial Body had been detonated, but thanks to the Holy Shroud, its consciousness was preserved, and Ange had re-crafted a soul to house its consciousness.

So the current Dark Origin still had a Soul Contact with Ange but had lost its former strength.

Within the range of the Chaos Mist, Soult Contact wasn’t very stable, flickering in and out. Ange, interested only in certain things by nature, naturally didn’t pay much attention to the Soul Contact with the Dark Origin. After all, it hadn’t been severed; if it had been broken, he might have noticed more quickly.

The Dark Origin claimed to have a method to kill the Void Will, an opportunity the Monarch certainly wouldn’t miss. It strongly demanded Ange to anchor the location while it went out to fight.

Now, the Dark Origin was gone. Although the exact circumstances were temporarily unknown, if the consciousness encountered earlier was indeed the Void Will, it likely meant the Dark Origin’s plan had possibly failed.

And it itself could have been sealed, restrained, or exiled to another dimension.

With the Dark Origin gone, Ange couldn’t contact the Monarch, effectively making the Monarch gone as well.

“This…” Everyone looked at each other, a bit at a loss; even Anthony didn’t know what to do next. There was no contingency plan for failures at this level; either you succeeded, or if you failed, nobody knew how to proceed.

“Now, we need to figure out what happened to His Majesty first. Where’s the Abyssal Big Mouth? Can we contact the Abyssal Big Mouth?” Anthony said.

Abyssal Big Mouth naturally had left a way to contact it; Ange pulled out a bead, inside which was a pitch-black abyssal vortex that looked like the Abyssal Big Mouth sealed within.

Ange sent his thoughts into the bead, and the abyssal vortex inside slowly began to spin.

However, after quite a while, Ange said, “The Abyss, gone.”

Everyone’s expressions grew grave. Even the Abyssal Big Mouth was gone. The three of them had gone to attack the Void Will together–could it be that their move had been exposed and they had all been stewed in one pot by the Void Will?

“It shouldn’t be. Because the lord’s Soul Contact with the Dark Abyss hasn’t been severed, it’s likely they are just trapped within some kind of dimensional prohibition,” Anthony speculated.

“So what now? Should we go save him? This unreliable Old Immortal also talked about overturning the entire Chaos Plane, and now can’t even deal with a single Void Will,” Negris muttered, displeased.

“How to save them? Without the Dark Origin to lead the way, we don’t even know where they are trapped,” Anthony said, troubled.

According to Ange, the Dark Origin was ‘not on this layer’; so which ‘layer’ was it on? Without a guide, they couldn’t even locate it, let alone mount a rescue.

In the Void, this was practically an impossible task–akin to the difficulty of killing a Primordial God.

“If we can’t save them, then let it be. After all, the location anchored by Ange will always find its way back as long as the Old Immortal isn’t dead,” Negris said helplessly.

“What now? How do we deal with these Ancient Black Stones?” Anthony asked.

“What else can we do? Keep them to contaminate consciousness and then be controlled? Let Tom and Lorca try, see if they can burn them.”

Tom and Lorca moved over to try igniting the Ancient Black Stones with a method of lighting a point of fire. To their alarm, the stones, which bore three thousand degrees of heat without changes, shone brightly under the pressure of the force field, emitting a bright light.

However, soon after, Tom and Lorca withdrew, alarmed and saying, “It’s no use; they started burning on their own.”
