Forbiddenly Bound To You -
Chapter 37: Suprise
Chapter 37: Suprise
Mira’s eyes widened as she processed the new revelation about Zamian. Learning that he was a virgin was a shock, making her reassess her feelings and perceptions of him. She wondered why she was so taken aback, realizing that being a virgin wasn’t a negative trait but rather a sign of personal values and restraint.
Not noticing that James was about to speak, Mira waved him off. "You may go. It’s already getting dark, and I think you’re probably tired. Thanks, it was nice talking to you."
James nodded respectfully and left without further comment. Mira watched him go, her thoughts still focused on Zamian. As she walked back into the mansion, her mind was occupied with questions. Climbing the stairs to their room, she wondered if Zamian’s virginity explained his hesitation during their practice session. Was he also shy? If she had known, she might have approached him differently.
Reaching the door to their room, Mira was surprised to find Zamian already lying on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. Walking over to the wardrobe, she retrieved her nightwear. The jeans skirt she had worn earlier was not suitable for sleeping.
After changing into her comfortable nightwear in the bathroom, Mira emerged and glanced at Zamian. Their eyes met briefly before she climbed onto the bed. Zamian seemed surprised by her action, having anticipated that she might express discomfort or reluctance.
Mira was determined to take things step by step, hoping to bridge the emotional distance between them. She settled on the bed and turned to face him, speaking softly, "Zamian?"
His gaze met hers. Mira took a deep breath and asked, "Would you like to cuddle?"
Zamian was caught off guard, his eyes widening slightly with surprise. Mira added reassuringly, "You don’t have to be shy."
Zamian, still taken aback, stared at her, struggling to process the unexpected offer. Before he could respond, Mira gently wrapped an arm around his waist and nestled closer. She rested her head on his shoulder and murmured softly, "Goodnight."
Mira had been taught by her grandfather that maintaining modesty was a sign of faithfulness and integrity. This belief instilled in her a deep respect for Zamian’s restraint, which made her feel more comfortable with him. The respect she had for him made the act of cuddling feel natural, despite the emotional complexity.
Zamian, initially tense and surprised by the intimacy, froze momentarily. His body tensed, and his jaw tightened slightly. As he stared at Mira, his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down. Her floral scent, delicate and soothing, filled the air, heightening his awareness of her presence. Although he noticed that Mira was drifting towards sleep, he was unsure how he would manage to rest with her body pressed against him.
He sighed quietly, brushing his hair back as he continued to gaze at her softly parted rosy pink lips. As Mira moved closer, drawn to him with a gentle instinct, Zamian wrapped his arm around her, allowing her calming scent to envelop him. Gradually, he relaxed, finding solace in her warmth. With a final sigh of resignation, Zamian allowed himself to drift into sleep, comforted by her presence beside him.
The next morning, Mira woke up to an unusual silence. As she opened her eyes, she immediately noticed that Zamian was no longer beside her. The bed felt emptier, and a sense of something being different lingered in the air. She sat up and scanned the room, unable to pinpoint exactly what had changed.
Shaking off her sense of unease, Mira got out of bed she had her bath and dressed in her usual casual attire: a baggy t-shirt and a flowy maxi skirt. She gathered her things and headed downstairs. The comforting aroma of breakfast greeted her, signaling the start of the day.
At the breakfast table, Nana greeted her with a warm smile. "Good morning, Miss Mira," Nana said. "Mr. Zamian left a few hours ago for an important meeting. Mr James asked me to let you know."
Mira nodded, absorbing the information. She served herself pancakes, noting the generous layer of honey on top. She took a bite, savoring the sweet flavor, and a contented smile spread across her face as she enjoyed her meal.
Once she finished, Mira turned to Nana. "Could you please call Mr. James for me?"
Nana nodded and went to fetch him. Soon, Mr. James arrived. Mira took a deep breath, feeling a mix of nervousness and determination. She wanted to get accustomed to using the term "husband" confidently, especially since she would be navigating public places where she needed to project assurance.
"Mr. James," Mira began, "do you know where my husband’s company is?"
James looked at her with understanding and nodded.
"I’d like to go there,"
James was surprised by Mira’s request, but he maintained his composure. He nodded in acknowledgment. "Yes, Miss Mira."
Mira then clarified, "I would like to go there in two hours’ time."
James nodded again and promptly left to prepare the car for the journey. Mira turned her attention back to Nana, who was tidying up the breakfast area.
"Nana," Mira asked, "are all the necessary materials for baking available?"
Nana looked at her with a reassuring smile. "Yes, Miss Mira, everything you need is here."
Mira gave her a small smile in response, realizing that she shouldn’t have needed to ask. After all, this was Zamian’s house, and it was well-equipped with everything they could possibly need.
Mira stood and said, "I would like to prepare some cookies." She decided to bake cookies to surprise Zamian at his workplace. Since she had heard that Zamian had left a few hours ago, she guessed that he might not have eaten yet.
As she began to make the cookies, she followed the recipe exactly as her grandfather had taught her back in the village. She shaped the cookies into cute bunny forms and added expressions reminiscent of the ones she usually saw on Zamian. Nana, who was by her side, watched in amazement. She wondered if Mira’s happiness was the reason for her enthusiastic effort but kept her thoughts to herself, happy to see the changes in Mira.
Once the cookies were baked, Mira arranged them in a cute pink box. She placed the box on the kitchen counter before leaving to prepare herself for the visit.
Entering her room, Mira slipped into a purple floral sundress, which was cuter and more flattering than the one she wore last time. The dress had a square neckline that highlighted her curves and slim waist while flaring out gracefully. She curled her normally wavy hair into soft curls that framed her face. A touch of tinted lip gloss added a subtle shine to her lips.
Mira wondered why she was going to such lengths, but she shrugged it off, deciding not to dwell on it. She walked back to the kitchen, grabbed the pink bag with the cookie box inside, and prepared to leave. Nana, who had taken it upon herself to clean the area where Mira had baked, ensured everything was tidy before Mira departed.
As Mira left the mansion, James, who was surprised by her appearance in such a pretty dress, thought she looked ethereal. He wondered if something special was going on but chose to remain silent. They both entered the car, which then drove off.
Inside the car, Mira asked, "Mr. James?"
"Yes, Miss Mira?" James replied.
"Do you think Zamian is still at work, or will he be done soon?"
James considered the question before answering. "I think he will be at work for some hours yet."
Mira nodded, relieved. She had enough time to surprise him.
