Chapter 172: Jealousy and Trust
"Are you blaming me without blaming me? When you look at me, do I look like someone who ruins the lives of innocents?" Tony asked.
Marcella was stunned by his question. That was a big leap from the silence! She preferred him talking though.
"No, you will not hurt innocents. More importantly, you will not hurt my friends. I know that you are powerful to do whatever you want to," she said.
He didn’t stop the car but he slowed down. Although it was the city that never sleeps, the traffic was down considerably.
Tony sighed. His eyes were unfocused. He almost missed the exit and swerved hard to take it. A truck whooshed past them missing them just by a few feet. Marcella held his hand.
"Shall I drive?" she asked.
Tony didn’t turn to face her. He went silent. Marcella pressed her lips and leaned back on the seat. They had a pleasant night and she had to ruin it by bringing up Beth.
She didn’t understand why he hated Beth that much though. She was from a small town and was a little weird. She was not evil to be hated. She wanted to know what he thought about Beth but if he went silent or spoke in riddles, she wouldn’t know what bothered him.
He parked the car on the side of the solitary road to Olive Groove.
"There are rumors floating around, ever since I helped her in that restaurant..." Tony said, still not facing her.
He was pondering on whether he should talk about the photograph. He thought it would be better to give her a warning about Beth’s intentions. If he told her the truth immediately, it would be different than when she possibly learned of it herself. She would get hurt if she learned it from someone else. She was a jealous person. She didn’t like it when he talked to Cindy. She wouldn’t like this either. He wanted to see how she reacted.
Marcella saw him holding on to the steering wheel for dear life. She realized that his silence was not anger but hesitation to talk about it.
"Yeah, I’ve heard those talks. Some "well-wishers" of mine talked to me about Beth," Marcella said. She couldn’t help but laugh.
Tony whipped his head to look at her. He furrowed his brows in confusion. "Why are you laughing? And if you heard about those rumors, why did you let her in our house?" he asked.
"Oh, dear. Why would I believe those rumors?" Marcella laughed. "You were worried about it?" She held his hand. "I get it. Rumors can affect your political future~"
"That’s not it!" Tony raised his voice.
He didn’t like it when she talked like this. He didn’t care what others think either and his political aspirations were not the reason he didn’t want such rumors to exist. Earlier, she thought that the secrecy of the documents he left in their room was the reason he got mad at her for letting that woman inside their bedroom.
How can she be this... Does she truly not care about his feelings at all? Is she not even a teeny bit jealous?
"Then what is it?" Marcella asked. Her face was red with all the laughing. "Tony, what’s in your mind?" she asked.
"Don’t talk to me," he turned his face. "I don’t even know whether you love me or not..."
"Well, that can’t be allowed," Marcella chuckled. She found him cute with his pouting. She didn’t think that he was doubting her love though.
Why was he so... Can’t he see how hard it was for her to control her jealousy?
Beth was a beautiful woman. Beautiful as in heavenly beautiful—angel-level beauty! If she was a man, she would have fallen for Beth. If her husband had a wandering eye—even if he didn’t—it wouldn’t be hard to fall for Beth.
She was trying, all right? She was trying hard not to get her jealousy known to him and hurt him. She wanted him to think that she was trusting him explicitly.
It was hard for her too. She didn’t mind Beth in her closet for some time. But when she saw Beth standing beside her husband’s clothes, she didn’t like that. That was the reason she moved her to the bedroom. But there was the bed—their bed. She almost lost her composure and threw Beth out of their room. Poor Beth would have been hurt by it but she couldn’t control her anger.
Thankfully Tony came at the right moment.
He was not helping by getting angry at Beth. Why was he getting angry? Why wouldn’t want to see Beth? Was he getting affected by her beauty? Was his heart wavering? Is that why he avoids her?
She had a lot of questions. She wanted to ask him but she knew she could not be open about it. He would definitely get hurt.
Marcella straddled on his lap. Rubbing her crotch on his, she held his cheeks and kissed him.
"I love you, Tony. Don’t you ever..."
She unzipped her dress and her sleeves slid through her arms.
"What are you doing, Birdie?" Tony was shocked.
She was not happy when he wanted to do it in the car before. What was she doing now?
Marcella covered her lips with hers. Her nimble fingers quickly unbuttoned his shirt and unzipped his trousers.
"You’re ready," she smirked running her hand through his erect length.
Tony could not hold back any longer. He stuck his finger inside her as he deepened the kiss. He pulled her bra down and as her bare skin touched his, he slipped inside her.
Marcella moaned.
A blaring horn was heard from the front along with a glaring light. Although it wouldn’t nearly be enough, Tony hugged her closer and covered her bare back with his arms. He knew the driver of the truck would know what was going on.
He thought that Marcella would stop and go into hiding, but she didn’t stop thrusting her hips.
The driver tooted the horn loudly as he passed their car and even that didn’t deter Marcella’s enthusiasm. Tony couldn’t care either. She was so good. She was so into it and he grunted as he was already in the verge of finishing.
"Oh, don’t you finish," she bit her earlobe.
How she knew what he was thinking, he didn’t know. But he loved his wife taking charge like this. It was extremely rare.
"Then don’t squeeze me-tight..." he grunted.
She kissed him and moved her hips on him. He held her back for her to avoid hitting the steering wheel. She was not caring for anything. She rarely gets this excited.
He loved every moment of it.
She slumped on him as he finished. He pulled up her clothes over her shoulder and hugged her.
"I know you love me, Birdie..." he said.
And she trusts him!
He realized that he should be happy that she trusted him this much. He will have to handle Beth himself.
