Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband -
Chapter 119: Should I
Chapter 119: Should I
Tony blew in her ear.
The sudden gust of air in her ear made her jump. "Tony!" she pushed him aside.
He caught her hand and kissed it.
"I make enough to keep you unworried," he said.
"Whatever," Marcella walked away.
She didn’t know why he had to keep his salary a secret from her. He happily continued vacuuming and she sat and watched his lovely backside without blinking her eyes. She had an urge to slap him hard on those round mounds as he shook them dancing to the tune of the song. But she kept her hands to herself. She didn’t want to lose her view.
Tony prepared Sunday dinner that day. She tried to help him prep but he insisted he did everything. She didn’t insist. Why should she when he was enthusiastic?
She understood that he wanted to cook for her. He tries to help her in cooking most of the time too. Maybe that’s his way of following her father. Her father cooked most of the meals in their family.
I married my father’s fanboy!
She found that she liked staying at home with her little family. Being out and having to interact with others drained her as she realized. Being at home energized her.
She didn’t want to get too comfortable with the solitary life after she quit her job though. She will have to attend parties and arrange parties for Tony’s sake.
I cannot do it alone. Mom had Mrs. Crawford and others. I need to find trustworthy help!
That entire day, she spent time with Tony. He didn’t treat her as a fragile flower when he asked her for a dance. She loved dancing with him. When she leaned on his shoulders as the song "Put your head on my shoulders", she was exhilarated.
When she looked into his eyes, she could see his happiness too. She leaned on his shoulder and listened to his racing heart. That was the greatest melody she ever heard.
"I love you, Marcella..." he said, his voice heard as a rumble as she was leaning on him.
Marcella’s lips curved. She closed her eyes placing her hand on his chest.
I love you too, Tony...
Ah... I should tell him, shouldn’t I?

The next day, Marcella was pretty enthusiastic to go to work. She didn’t realize she would be this happy to quit her job. She quickly wrote a resignation letter and went to her personal editor, Tony.
Tony read her letter. "Personal reasons?" he looked at her. "He’s going to ask why."
Marcella shrugged. "I’m going to say I want to start a family."
Tony leaned and kissed her.
"If you are free today, go and check your family home and see if you need to do any renovations or remodeling. I think we will need some new furniture too," he said.
Marcella agreed. If they are going to move there, they need to make sure the house is ready. They also need a nursery for the baby. It would be better if his room was closer to their room.
"I think, we don’t have to use my parent’s bedroom as the master bedroom," she said.
Her parents had the East wing of the house and it was like a separate apartment. They don’t go there often. It was their place although they went there only at night. She still felt like she would be intruding if they went there.
"Of course, not," Tony said. His expression said that he too didn’t want to intrude there. "We can use those rooms as office space or a playroom for the kids."
Marcella agreed. Their kids can peruse the area. That won’t be weird and her parents would be happy when they look down to see their grandkids playing in what used to be their place.
"Your old room would be enough for us, right? You had a pretty big closet, didn’t you? If that is not enough, we can do some remodeling and do an extension," he said.
Marcella agreed.
She definitely needed a bigger closet. Who wouldn’t want a bigger closet?
"Have a look and I’ll find someone to do the remodeling," Tony said.
Marcella smiled and kissed his cheek. She was happy.
After handing over Joey to Rosy, Marcella was ready to leave. Tony was still in the bedroom when she was about to leave.
"Wait for me!" he shouted.
Marcella waited for him by the door. She wouldn’t miss a chance to leave with her husband. She looked out the window. It was gloomy outside. It was already the end of autumn but it looked like it might rain.
She got the umbrellas for Tony and her.
Tony rushed out wearing his suit. His coat was hanging on his arm.
"I would have waited. You didn’t have to rush," she helped him wear his coat.
His hair was messy and she ran her fingers through it. He bowed a little to make it easier for her.
"Okay?" he asked her.
"Okay," she smiled.
She almost leaned to kiss him but she didn’t want to do that in front of Rosy.
Both of them stepped out together.
"Your stop is that side," Marcella told Tony. He said he was going to meet someone in the opposite direction and she didn’t understand why he was walking with her to her bus stop.
"I know," Tony held her hand. "Oh, it’s getting cold," he looked up at the sky. "Why does it look like it is going to rain? Or is it going to snow already?" he said.
"We should get some winter clothes for Joey," she said.
Tony nodded and didn’t say anything more. Shopping is her forte. She would take care of it.
Marcella looked to her side and smiled seeing Tony standing beside her. He was holding her hand inside his coat pocket. Her hand was double warm. He didn’t say it but it looked like he was planning on dropping her off at work.
How cute...
The bus stopped and Tony joined her. They had a seat and he sat beside her. Just as the bus started to move, raindrops fell from the sky. Everyone tried to close the windows, but Marcella sat there enjoying the cold drops of water on her face.
She was warm. Her heart was warmer. She was beyond happy.
"Love you, Birdie," he sneakily kissed her cheek just as the stop arrived.
Marcella stood up. He stood up with her but he pressed his shoulder to make him take his seat.
She leaned to his ear. "I love you, Sweet Baby Tony," she kissed his cheek.
And like a fluttering bird, she rushed out of the bus.
