Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband -
Chapter 116: Her Plan
Chapter 116: Her Plan
Marcella waited for some time outside. She had a feeling that Tony knew a little more about this than she did. She might have been present when her father negotiated but she didn’t learn anything from it. She was too emotional to handle it.
She trusted Tony would do it well.
Paul Romano...
She couldn’t believe that Paul Romano killed her sister for having access to that island. He wanted that island so that badly he was willing to kill his son along with his daughter-in-law.
But then even the cops said that Andrew was not the intended victim. He died because he refused to leave Mellissa’s side.
Now, Paul is coming for little Joey. Joey’s entire life would be spoiled if Paul got a hold of him. They need to protect Joey from Paul.
It made her think that John Emerson knew about the deal that went wrong and Paul’s involvement in it. Maybe that’s why he told her that Joey would be better off with her than with Paul.
Tony came out after a while.
"Have you finished?" she asked.
Tony nodded and rubbed her back. "Are you okay?"
"I’m fine. I was just standing," she said. "Shall we go?"
When they walked out, there was a cab waiting for them. Marcella was surprised that Mclaughlin had the common courtesy to get a cab for them.
"Excuse me! One moment, please..."
Tony immediately blocked her back as the voice came from behind. Marcella stopped and turned to look. It was Mr. Yamaguchi standing alone. His men were all standing by the door to the container with their eyes trained on them. He must have asked for them to wait for them.
Tony walked in the front and Marcella walked behind him. Mr. Yamaguchi bowed at them and both of them bowed back. Mr. Yamaguchi handed over a card to Tony. There was nothing on the card except his name. Not even his phone number was in that golden gilded card.
But Marcella knew that’s how they operated. If there is a meeting is to be set, somehow that will happen.
"I heard you are in politics and want to rise up?" Mr. Yamaguchi asked. "My wife is from the Takeda family."
"I do want to be the President one day," Tony said with a straight face.
Marcella truly admired his courage. With the chances he has now—if she were him, she wouldn’t have had the courage to say it with such conviction to others. Maybe that’s what testosterone does. It’s probably the reason women live longer too. She wasn’t sure but it could play a part.
"President?" Mr. Yamaguchi nodded. There was no change in his expression. "Good... Good..."
Mr. Yamaguchi then turned his attention toward Marcella. Marcella stepped forward.
"My wife always wanted to go on a shopping spree in this city..."
"If you wish, I can be of help, Mr. Yamaguchi," Marcella smiled. "I grew up in this city."
"It’s a wonderful idea!" Mr. Yamaguchi had a trace of a smile on his face.
After shaking his hand with Tony, he walked back to his men.
Tony opened the door for her and Marcella got inside the cab.
"It’s late. I think I’d rather go home," Marcella said checking the time.
"Then I’ll drop you on the way," Tony said.
Both of them didn’t speak anything else on their ride back. Marcella noticed the cab driver was observing them a little too closely. At one glance, she could figure out that he was fed. Neatly cut hair, fake tattoos, and clean clothes. Just because he was wearing gaudy clothes and had messy hair, doesn’t turn him into a gangster.
And is the FBI that stupid? Did they think someone who grew up with men having tattoos couldn’t figure out a real one from a fake one? Wow!
Marcella kissed Tony before alighting from the cab. "When will you be back?" she asked.
"I wouldn’t be long. I’ll be back for dinner," Tony said checking his watch.
Marcella didn’t relieve Rosy immediately and asked her to call Randy there. They need to get their plan moving. They cannot wait for the FBI to make their first move.
Randy came there in a hurry.
"We are breaking up the gang, Randy," Marcella said. "It’s a liability."
Randy protested. He couldn’t believe what she was saying.
"What does your husband say?" he asked.
Marcella wanted to laugh. Oh, now you respect my husband? She wanted to ask. But she held back. Randy is a loyal man. She didn’t want to hurt him.
"Does it matter?" she asked. "We are breaking up the gang, but you all will still be working for us," Marcella said pouring the coffee for him.
Randy calmed down and looked at her, willing to listen.
"I want you to listen to me carefully, Randy. We are under the surveillance of the FBI. You cannot stay here for long and yoy have to be careful here on out. Other than the warehouse, you guys have other means to contact each other, right?" she asked.
Randy nodded and leaned closer. He could see that she was serious.
"I want anyone in the gang without any records to sign up for the police academy, the military, or the FBI and the CIA if they can... I want you to run a newspaper, Randy; It doesn’t matter if it is a gossip rag. Henry should open up a private detective agency. We will need others to open up a furniture store, an art museum, a music store... Those with records can find work in any establishment that would help them get closer to the elites—the fashion industry, music industry, arts...anything. Do you get me?" She asked.
Randy sat up straight. "I got you, Bambina," he bowed his head. "I totally get what you are planning," he smiled.
Bambina is planning for the future. Rather than buying people, it would be better to have people loyal to them in those fields. Bambina truly is a genius.
"Tony and I will give any support anyone would need in this infiltration process," Marcella said.
Randy stood up. "Not everyone’s going to be loyal till the end, Bambina. Your plan might not~"
"Then they will be punished and replaced. We are still a gang, Randy. Just that, we are spreading out and getting more legal side hustles. Let everyone know that."
Randy nodded. "I will do my best, Bambina. The FBI won’t suspect a thing."
Randy asked Rosy to act like she was not feeling well. He brought her downstairs and booked a cab. If anyone got concerned about the nature of his visit, he would tell them that he was there to get his sick daughter.
Marcella leaned on the couch.
If Tony is going to run in the future, he will need access. Nothing gives more access to anyone other than being a journalist. Private detectives will come in handy too. That’s why she gave those important positions to the two people she trusted more than anything.
Everything else... Tony would take care of it.
