Chapter 111: Chapter 111 Revisiting the Past (1)

With the testimony of the witnesses, coupled with the hospital’s examination report proving Li Mei was raped, along with the previous accusations from other victims, the entire case was firmly irrefutable. No matter how Hei Ziyi tried to argue, it was of no use. And since Song Guotao’s "evidence" was limited, he stood no chance against Mi Wan’s powerful evidence.

Therefore, the judgment unsurprisingly favored the plaintiff, and Hei Ziyi was sentenced on the spot.

As they walked out of the courtroom, Mi Wan, Li Bing, and Li Mei felt completely relaxed and joyous, with varying degrees of smiles on their faces.

"Wanwan." Song Guotao stood at the main entrance waiting. When he saw Mi Wan chatting and laughing with Li Bing and Li Mei, he immediately walked over, pretending to congratulate her with a smile, "Congratulations on winning the case."

Congratulations?

Heh!

Was there really any necessity to share her joy with him?

Of course not! There was neither the possibility nor the necessity!

Mi Wan glanced coldly at Song Guotao and said expressionlessly, "There’s no need for congratulations. Instead, you should think hard about how to deal with the judicial investigation!"

One of the worst things for a lawyer is to help their client forge evidence. There is no wall that doesn’t have ears; sooner or later, the investigation would lead back to Song Guotao, perhaps today or a few working days later. It was just a matter of time.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. I was also pressured by Black Dragon and had no choice." Song Guotao thick-skinnedly interpreted Mi Wan’s cold sarcasm as concern, smiling shamelessly.

At that moment, Mi Wan regretted it deeply, feeling as though she had swallowed a fly. A wave of nausea hit her stomach, making her feel like vomiting!

Worry at this point?

Ridiculous!

"Let’s go." Mi Wan felt disgusted with every extra glance at Song Guotao. She sneered, then turned to look at Li Bing beside her, and said nonchalantly. Then she took the lead and walked forward.

Ziyi.

Mi Wan usually wore flat shoes and hadn’t worn high heels for a long time. Walking down the steps now, she felt a bit cautious and tense, worried that she might step wrongly or lose her balance and twist her ankle. Therefore, each step she took was carefully watched, in stark contrast to the confident aura she had exuded moments ago.

"Wan, let me hold your arm." Li Bing walked alongside Mi Wan, slowing her pace to match Mi Wan’s, then proactively linked her arm with Mi Wan’s, walking together.

"Wan, let me hold your bag."

Upon hearing this, Mi Wan was about to refuse, but Li Mei had already grabbed the briefcase. Seeing the joyful smile on her face, Mi Wan gladly accepted her goodwill and cheerfully let go of the briefcase.

Even with Li Bing holding her, Mi Wan still kept a close watch on her steps. Hence, when Li Mei and Li Bing’s attention was drawn to the dashing Ji Dongquan, she didn’t notice their unusual behavior or Ji Dongquan’s presence.

Seeing a handsome stranger looking in their direction, Li Bing didn’t narcissistically think he was looking at her. Instead, she reached out to touch Mi Wan’s arm, nodding towards Ji Dongquan, and asked, "Wan, is that man looking for you?"

Upon hearing what Li Bing said, Mi Wan immediately lifted her head and looked in the direction Li Bing indicated. She saw Ji Dongquan standing with his back against his car, looking calm and elegant. As soon as their eyes met, a long-forgotten scene flashed through Mi Wan’s mind.

Once, he always waited for her downstairs, riding a cool motorcycle. He wasn’t as mature and steady then as he was now; he was proud, arrogant, charming in every move, and won the hearts of many girls in their neighborhood who were her age.

Before Ji Dongquan appeared, she was always praised by many parents in the neighborhood for being obedient and achieving excellent grades, constantly urged by them to have their children learn from her and take her as a role model. Her parents felt proud for many years, gaining face among neighbors.

But when Ji Dongquan appeared, her obedient image was somewhat tarnished. Technically, dating at twenty wouldn’t be considered premature, but because of Ji Dongquan’s relentless pursuit, their relationship not only caused a stir in school but also created quite a sensation in their neighborhood.

Everyone in the neighborhood knew there was a "not so proper" handsome guy chasing her. Initially, people thought a quiet, obedient girl like her wouldn’t be interested in someone "not proper" like Ji Dongquan. However, she not only liked Ji Dongquan and got together with him but often returned late at night on his motorcycle. Consequently, she turned from being a role model to a "negative example."

Her parents were relatively open-minded, feeling she had been serious about her studies without many opportunities to relax and have fun, so they didn’t forbid her from going out with Ji Dongquan. Despite her quiet and dull personality, there was a soul within her that craved excitement and had a touch of rebellion. She hadn’t had the chance or desire to reveal that side of herself until she got together with Ji Dongquan. Influenced by him, she gradually changed, becoming her true self.

The time spent with him was truly wonderful; thinking about it always brought sweetness to her heart. Now looking at him, just a few steps away, she lacked the courage to rush toward him like before, to intimately hold his arm or embrace him boldly...

Her thoughts surged in her mind, but Mi Wan concealed her emotions well, pretending to be calm and collected as she withdrew her gaze. She then took out her car keys from her bag and handed them to Li Bing, saying, "Bingbing, I have a dinner appointment with a friend. You drive my car back."

Li Bing took the keys, looked at Mi Wan, then at Li Mei, and said, "Mei, let’s go."

Then, the sisters walked left to get the car while Mi Wan stepped forward slowly towards Ji Dongquan.

"Why the long face? Won the case but still unhappy?" Ji Dongquan, always proactive, seeing Mi Wan’s slow pace, took big strides towards her. As he reached her side, he intimately wrapped his arm around her waist and smiled, asking.

"I’m unhappy because I saw you." Mi Wan glanced at Ji Dongquan, deliberately trying to annoy him.

"Being hypocritical." Ji Dongquan didn’t take Mi Wan’s words seriously at all and continued smiling, "I know you’re happy now because I’m here to pick you up."

Hearing this, Mi Wan stayed silent. She habitually glanced at Ji Dongquan, thinking where did this man’s confidence come from?

Once in the car, both sat in the back seat, remaining silent for a while. In the quiet atmosphere, Mi Wan didn’t feel awkward or uncomfortable; instead, Ji Dongquan’s unusually calm demeanor made her feel somewhat uneasy.
