Chapter 87 - 87 87 The Reservoir Area in the Early Morning

87: Chapter 87 The Reservoir Area in the Early Morning 87: Chapter 87 The Reservoir Area in the Early Morning Thanks to Liu Fengnian’s awesome set of camping kitchenware, Yue Feng didn’t feel like cooking was much different from doing it at home.

The crucian carp soup was arranged in a wave, and soon a delicious aroma filled the entire campsite.

The main course wasn’t ready yet, and Yue Feng wasn’t in a hurry to serve the soup.

He turned the flame down low and let it stew slowly in the pot.

As for Liu Fengnian’s sauerkraut fish, the moment Old Liu got to work, he opened the eyes of the rest of the guys.

It turned out that Liu wasn’t just skilled in fishing; his cooking was also a master skill.

The kitchen knife flew through his hands, and he cut the grass carp into slices that were both neat and even.

“Tsk tsk, Big Brother Liu, did you get formal training in this?

So professional!”

“Now I finally understand why we needed to bring several stoves, it’s obviously for Brother Liu to cook himself!

You had planned this sauerkraut fish even before you came, hadn’t you!”

Liu Fengnian wasn’t vague, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, he didn’t let it interfere with his work: “Playing outdoors naturally requires doing it right, we should not only have fun but also eat and drink well!

If you have to rely on instant noodles to get by when going out, you might as well stay at home!

Dongzi, clean up the table, the dish is about to be ready!”

A moment later, a basin of fragrant and sour sauerkraut fish was brought to the table!

I don’t know if it was the illusion of being outdoors, but the dinner tonight seemed especially delicious, and the five grown men faced the full table with an increased appetite.

Ma Boqiang brought over two cases of beer from behind, generously cracking open a round for everyone.

“With such good dishes, it would be a shame not to drink.

Come on, bros, cheers!”

Going out to play isn’t only about playing per se; being close to nature relaxes a person from the rigid and repressive state of everyday social life.

Everyone drinks, chats, and just above are the stars in the night sky—an unspeakable sense of comfort.

The group exchanged toasts and drank from each other’s cups.

Unknowingly, they finished all the dishes, emptied the soup, and a circle of beer bottles accumulated next to the folding table.

Yue Feng, too, unconsciously drank his share, swallowing seven or eight bottles of beer.

The drinks didn’t make Yue Feng collapse on the ground, but they did make his forehead feel a bit fuzzy.

After drinking, the planned night fishing was canceled, and Yue Feng, fighting the drowsiness, joined the others to quickly clean up the camp.

He made a round to tidy up the fishing gear next to his spot before bidding everyone goodnight and crawling into a tent, falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

The next morning, at four o’clock sharp, Yue Feng was awakened by the alarm on his phone.

This alarm had been set for the previous morning’s meet-up, and he hadn’t had time to change it.

Having rested early because of the drinking, he woke up refreshed.

Yue Feng unzipped the tent and peeked outside; the sky was just beginning to brighten, and it wasn’t light out yet.

The rest of the camp was still asleep, and he could faintly hear snoring sounds coming from all around.

“Don’t know what time these guys went to bed last night, or if they’ve been topping each other up,” Yue Feng murmured as he crawled out of the tent, grabbing a headlamp from the entryway to put on his forehead.

It was still dark outside, and wearing a headlamp would at least make the path under his feet clearer.

The morning air around the reservoir was a bit damp.

Taking a deep breath, Yue Feng felt instantly invigorated.

He took his toiletries to the water’s edge for a quick wash, which completely cleared his head.

Apart from the somewhat discordant snoring from the campsite, the reservoir area wasn’t all that quiet.

There were occasional calls of unknown birds, and in the distance, one could vaguely see nocturnal water birds skimming the surface, maybe hunting, or doing something that left behind strange cries as they passed.

Concerned about the fishing spot he had prepared, Yue Feng headed straight there first thing.

The humidity around the reservoir had caused a layer of dew to condense on the fishing box.

Yue Feng wiped it down neatly with a towel before sitting down, raising his rod, and casting out the bait.

After casting his line, Yue Feng squinted his eyes and scanned around but couldn’t find where his float was,

Then, he slapped his forehead as he suddenly remembered he had inserted an everyday float on the main line, which was now utterly invisible.

Hurriedly, he reeled in his rod to attach a glow stick to the float and readjusted the buoyancy of the lead skin on the line assembly before he could finally settle down.

Early this morning should have been the prime time for fish activity according to common sense, but after trying to fish for a while, Yue Feng’s brow slightly furrowed.

Not a nibble, not even the slightest movement at the crucian carp nest near the grassy spot!

With patience, he crouched at his fishing spot and cast his line for half an hour, still without any sign of life!

Damn, did they forget to refresh the fishing ground last night before going to sleep?

Yue Feng muttered to himself as he stood up from his fishing position.

After all this fuss, a hint of daylight began to glow in the east.

Catching sight of a strip of dawn on the horizon, Yue Feng was slightly startled.

Why was he insisting on competing with the fish?

The reservoir scenery in the morning was like the Heavenly Realm when he had arrived yesterday.

Wouldn’t it be delightful to film a segment of that?

With that thought, he immediately sprang into action.

He opened his equipment box, took out his drone, and with a thought, activated it.

The drone ascended into the sky.

Yue Feng hadn’t yet unlocked the feature to film independently; to use the drone’s most advanced equipment to film a segment, he needed to start live-streaming mode.

Having made the trip to the reservoir, Yue Feng didn’t dwell on the detail too much.

At most, it would take an hour to finish filming, so a shorter live-stream duration was no big deal.

Once decided, Yue Feng discreetly started his live-stream and controlled the drone to cavort over the reservoir.

When it came to fishing, Yue Feng was somewhat of an insider, at least understanding the basics.

But filming was a whole different story; he was a complete novice.

However, he wasn’t worried since the drone had an automatic editing module that would select the best shots on its own.

All Yue Feng needed to do was let the drone fly wherever he thought of.

The live stream’s content now took on a life of its own, with the drone skimming the water’s edge of the entire reservoir at low altitude, passing over the neatly arranged campsites.

Then it would ascend to hundreds of meters in the air, almost vying with birds for flight speed.

Yue Feng’s operation lacked any particular method: he just improvised on the spot, attempting every idea that flickered through his mind.

In theory, at this early hour when dawn was just breaking, one wouldn’t expect much of an audience, but shortly after the stream started, dozens of viewers were already watching.

These folks seemed to get a kick out of the bird’s-eye view provided by the drone, watching avidly.

After about half an hour of spirited cavorting, Yue Feng had nearly executed all the ideas in his head.

A round red sun slowly rose in the east, and the sky brightened completely.

“Huff!” Who knows what kind of clips the editing will yield!

Yue Feng exhaled and controlled the drone to return to his side.

After all this activity, he glanced casually at the live stream and saw that there were already over two hundred people.

There weren’t many comments in the public chat, but there was a long line of prompts sharing the live stream.
