Chapter 169: Ending World Hunger, One Bath At A Time

"This one is your ensuite," Cheng Bo Jing said as he opened the door on the right-hand side.

Looking in, I saw a four-piece bathroom complete with a shower and tub. I think I would kill for a bath right about now... a hot one that I could soak in, but I didn’t know if that was allowed. But the rest of the room was bright white with fluffy purple towels hanging from their holders. It looked like a spa, and I never wanted to leave.

"Whatever you want, go ahead and do," smiled Cheng Bo Jing as he looked down at me. "Bin An Sha has enough clout in City A that no one would risk pissing him off over a bath or five. Besides, the water power users get paid to refill the water reservoirs, which also helps to strengthen their powers, so it is a win-win situation. You taking a bath would help a lot of people get stronger and fed. Look at you sacrificing for the sake of others."

The look on his face was so smug as he explained just how taking a bath would benefit the world that I burst out laughing. I was going to take him up on that tonight and toss him under the bus if I got in shit.

He could take the beating, not me.

Wait... there were no beatings here.

Right.

I was free.

"Okay, so spending time at the spa helps to end world hunger. Got it," I smirked. My stomach actually hurt from laughing so hard. "I’ll take a bath later, then."

"Perfect," he smiled before leading me to the next door. "And this was Ye Yao Zu’s idea, so if you hate it, blame him."

He opened what looked to be a smaller walk-in closet that had been completely emptied. Instead of clothes, someone had built a blanket fort inside. There were furry blankets cushioning the floor with more hanging from the sides, and even one over the top of the closet, resting on the shelves.

It was pure magic, and I couldn’t think of anything better.

I sank to my knees, slowly crawled into the space, and lay down. Someone had even thrown in a bunch of pillows so that I could sleep better. It was perfect.

"And if I love it?" I asked, finally finding my voice.

"Well, if that is the case, it was all my idea, and I set it up all by myself." The look of pride on Cheng Bo Jing’s face made me laugh again as I rested my head on the pillow and looked up at the blanket above me.

It was a small enough space that I felt safe, but it was so much more comfortable than the cage.

Words couldn’t even begin to express how much I loved it... and the fact that the guys did it for me made it even more special.

"All right!" clapped a set of hands behind Cheng Bo Jing. "Now that the tour is over, it’s time for her to meet everyone!"

I jumped at the sound, and Cheng Bo Jing narrowed his eyes at my movement. Was he upset that I jumped? Did I do something wrong? Of course, I did something wrong.

"She was just getting comfortable," answered Cheng Bo Jing as he spun around to look at Li Dai Lu.

"That’s all well and good, but we are wasting daylight. She has the next few years getting used to this place, and my guys want to leave," shrugged the smaller woman like it wasn’t a big deal.

And she was right. As much as I wanted to just spend the next few days here, I also wanted everyone to be gone and leave me alone.

Cheng Bo Jing stepped back as I crawled toward him, not coming to my feet until I was once again at the door.

Turning around, I closed it, cutting it off from the rest of the room.

I had a space of my own, privacy, and a washroom close by.

This was heaven, and I was going to enjoy every moment of it.

After I got rid of everyone else.

Once again, Cheng Bo Jing slowly reached out for my hand, and this time, I quickly took his. Pulling me closer to his side, he escorted me back down the hallway I never noticed before and into the living room.

I paused at the entrance, unable to move forward.

"It’s okay, take your time," he smiled, looking down at me. He switched hands with me so that I was standing in front of him, but his arm was wrapped around my waist.

Leaning back into him, I studied the massive room. It was an open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen combo as well as served for the main entrance of the house.

However, what got to me the most was the eleven people staring at me from different locations.

I felt like a bug in a museum exhibit, pinned down to the wall for everyone to stare at.

It was not a comfortable feeling.

"Now, I know we all look a bit different," chuckled Cheng Bo Jing, not moving a muscle. "But on the bigger couch are Bai Long Qiang, Zeng Xian Liang, and Ye Yao Zu. Beside the windows are Fan Teng Fei and one of Li Dai Lu’s men, Liu Wei. On the smaller couch are Wang Chao and Liu Yu Zeng. Chen Zi Han is in the kitchen, and Bin An Sha. He doesn’t like it when we touch his stuff, so he prefers to watch over everyone and clean up after us."

It was my turn to chuckle at his words. Yeah, I could see the OCD hypochondriac doctor not liking people touching his stuff. I was really surprised that he would even be willing to have his routine messed up this much as it was.

However, the one person I couldn’t easily see was Rip.

"Move," grunted Rip as he stepped forward and looked at Zeng Xian Lian and Ye Yao Zu. The two men quickly stood up and went to walk behind the couch as he took his spot on the couch. Patting his lap, he looked at me.
