Chapter 157: Easier Ways To Die
Chapter 157: Easier Ways To Die
He didn’t know the intricacies of her power, and for that reason, he had made sure that all the Reavers he offered her were healthy. He wasn’t willing to have her heal them like she did him.
Letting out a soft sigh, Rip took a step back as Li Dai Lu crouched down and whispered something in Alpha’s ear. He tried not to sneer at her actions. She and her men seemed to think that she deserved to kill him, but as far as he was concerned, out of everyone there, Wang Tian Mu had suffered under his hand the most.
If anyone deserved revenge, it was her.
Li Dai Lu hadn’t even been in the camp for an hour.
But he held his tongue. He wasn’t in a position to fight the other four men, and he couldn’t trust her men not to take her from him if he handed her over to them while he killed the others.
So instead, he stood there, watching...
----
"You shouldn’t have," purred the woman as one of her men dragged the body of the Alpha behind him.
Fan Teng Fei had to admit that it was a foreign concept to share a woman, but they seemed to be doing it just fine.
He stood off to the side, invisible to everyone else as they played whatever games they wanted to. It was so staged that it was laughable in a way.
The newcomers wanted to kill the Alpha?
Whatever, it had nothing to do with him.
Instead of listening to the monotonous dialogue that the woman was going off about, he turned his attention to the monster holding his woman.
It was truly beauty and the beast. Too bad this wasn’t a fairy tale.
The smell of burning flesh turned his attention away from where Wang Tian Mu had yet to wake up and back to the strangers. The Alpha was completely engulfed in a purple flame.
It was too easy of an ending for him.
"Ready?" asked the woman as she turned to look at every one.
"Not yet," grunted Rip, "She is going to want everyone released."
Fan Teng Fei’s head snapped toward the giant. Was he really thinking about the same woman he was? The Healer whom everyone wanted to kill? Did he really believe that she would be willing to save everyone?
"Fine," grunted the woman as she looked at the General. "You are a metal power user, right? Want to open the cages for me?" The General nodded his head slowly as if he had completely forgotten that he had such a power.
The two of them talked some more, but Fan Teng Fei ignored them. If they really did release everyone, they would have to be prepared for an attack. He wouldn’t put it past the other women and fighters not to take a swing at Wang Tian Mu while she was down.
And by the look on the monster’s face, he was thinking the same thing. So why did he tell them to open the cages?
"Apparently, the woman considers herself to be best friends with Wang Tian Mu," murmured Si Dong as he came over to stand beside Fan Teng Fei. He spoke so softly that the other man could hardly make out what he was saying, let alone anyone else.
Fan Teng Fei nodded his head to show that he had heard him, but still didn’t know what he was talking about.
"Rip figured that if she really knew our woman, then she would have shot down the suggestion of opening all the gates. However, that plan backfired now that she has agreed. And there are more than a few people watching Wang Tian Mu."
This time, when Fan Teng Fei nodded, it was because he understood.
But talk about something blowing up in your face.
When the General waved a hand, and more than half of the women’s cages were opened, Fan Teng Fei knew they had to do something.
He caught Cheng Bo Jing’s eyes and tilted his head to the remaining cages.
"I can help," announced Cheng Bo Jing as he approached the General and his woman, a big smile plastered on his face. But Fan Teng Fei knew the other man well enough to know that he was thinking about how he could stab the woman without any repercussions.
Too bad that wouldn’t happen. The General would snap his neck before he even managed to reach for his knife.
"My name is Cheng Bo Jing, but my teammates call me Lao Tie," he continued as if he was everyone’s best friend. "Metal is my main power."
And while they joked about his age on occasion, no one in his team ever called him Lao Tie unless they were trying to get under his skin.
And metal was not his only power... but that was a well-kept secret.
When the woman nodded her head to let him go open the gates, Cheng Bo Jing shared a look with Fan Teng Fei and Si Dong.
When neither man moved, Cheng Bo Jing’s smile brightened even more.
But that was fine. Anyone that messed with their woman deserved whatever he was willing to dish out.
The only question would be if he could achieve his goal under the watchful eyes of the General and his woman.
----
Cheng Bo Jing walked slowly through the crowd of women who were released by General Wang.
Smiling at them as he went, he listened to their plans to kill his woman. Did they really think they could go through with it? Did they really want to die that badly?
There were much easier ways to die.
They had been here for months, and during that time, he had heard more than a few plans from both the fighters and the women about how they would take out the Healer if given half a chance.
Back then it didn’t really matter to him, he had no idea who the Healer was, but that all changed tonight.
They wanted to hurt his woman? Then they needed to be prepared for the consequences.
