Chapter 1369: Chapter 1369: This Feeling, It’s Sweet
Walking down a path, for a very long distance, for a very long time.
Jasmine Yale was so engrossed that she didn’t even think of turning back.
It was Sylvan Cheney who stopped for a moment and with his thin lips slightly opening, he said, "It’s late. We should head back home."
Jasmine Yale turned around to look and realized how far they had walked.
She didn’t feel the cold at all.
Suddenly, Jasmine threw herself into his arms, wrapping her arms around his waist and pouted, "I can’t walk anymore."
"Then I’ll just leave you here."
"You can’t. Would you really bear to leave me here? What if someone as bad as you comes along and kidnaps me?"
"Are you sure there would be anyone else who’d want you besides me?"
"..." Jasmine was annoyed, and bit him, "If I say I can’t walk, I can’t walk."
Sylvan looked at her resignedly, and as he lowered his gaze, the profound and deep light of his eyes fell on her cheeks.
Jasmine also looked up at him.
Underneath the street light, their eyes met, sparks flying in the air.
Sylvan, with his head bowed, said nothing, and made no move.
Jasmine had no choice but to tiptoe, wrap her arms around his waist, and lightly peck his lips.
Her face flushed red, "Is that sincere enough?"
"I had no idea you were so good at acting spoiled," Sylvan squinted his eyes leisurely as he watched her, the fragrance of her lingering on his lips.
The old Jasmine Yale never took the initiative to kiss him.
But the Jasmine now, she knows how to act spoiled.
"Don’t you like it? Obviously, it’s full of sincerity," Jasmine hugged his waist and rested her cheek on his coat, "Carry me home, carry me."
"You’re asking for a mile after being given an inch."
"I thought you were used to it by now," Jasmine said with a smiling gaze.
"Get on."
This time, Sylvan didn’t refute her and bent his waist.
Jasmine was overjoyed, she jumped onto his back, wrapped her arms around his neck, and buried her little head in the nape of his neck.
As she drew closer to him, the subtle agarwood fragrance of his body reached her nose, providing her with a sense of comfort.
She wasn’t heavy, and it didn’t take much effort for Sylvan to carry her.
This wasn’t the first time he had carried her; he had done so once before at Maple Mountain.
Jasmine lay on his shoulder and sneakily kissed him.
"Let’s have a good life together," Jasmine spoke calmly, her voice gentle.
Sylvan didn’t respond, his thin lips pressed lightly together.
Under the street lamp, he carried her home, their shadows overlapping on the ground, inseparable.
When the cold wind blew, she buried her head in his neck, and that way, she wouldn’t feel cold.
Sylvan’s footsteps were slow and as steady as a mountain.
Lying on his back, she felt like a child, content and happy.
For the first time in her life, she felt the sweetness of "happiness."
Just like that lollipop, it was sweet.
The wind was clear, the moonlight serene, and thin clouds brushed lightly across the sky.
Birds flapped their wings amongst the treetops in the night, rustling softly.
Such a night was quiet to the utmost.
No other sounds could be heard, only their even breathing and the sound of Sylvan’s footsteps.
Not long into their walk, Jasmine coaxed again, "I want to walk by myself."
She knew that his body had not fully recovered yet.
"I still have the strength for this," Sylvan stated plainly.
"Best let me walk on my own, or else if I exhaust your energy now, what will we do later..." Jasmine said, her face blushing.
In the past, she wouldn’t have been so open.
But since last night, she had let go.
At least, she was open around him.
After all they had done, there was nothing left to be embarrassed about.
