Chapter 1357: Chapter 1357: The Young Wife Acts Coquettishly
During a meal, Jasmine Yale ate slowly, fearing that once she finished, he would leave.
She also served him a bowl of soup, squinting her eyes at him: "Drink more of this, it’s good for your health."
"Good for my health?" Sylvan Cheney looked at her with a meaningful gaze, "If you keep nourishing me like this, can you handle it?"
"Try me."
Jasmine Yale suddenly leaned closer, smiling slyly, stealthily wrapping her small hand around his waist.
Sylvan Cheney didn’t speak, just glanced at her again.
After the meal, Jasmine Yale paced around the living room, washing fruits for Sylvan Cheney, and squeezing juice for him.
Sylvan didn’t leave immediately, sitting on the sofa, casually flipping through a magazine.
Riceball didn’t know when it had run in, circling Sylvan for a while, then running to Jasmine’s side.
After the meal, craving a smoke, Sylvan reached into his pocket and felt a pack of cigarettes.
Just as Jasmine came over, she pounced, holding down his hand.
"Don’t smoke, I made you some orange juice. Drink that instead." She looked at him with puppy eyes, "Smoking is bad for you, not to mention, you’re on medication."
In Jasmine’s memory, he seldom got sick, seldom took medicine.
But this time he came back, and his health wasn’t as good as before.
Sylvan reluctantly put away the cigarette pack.
Jasmine smiled, handing him the freshly squeezed orange juice, and took a glass for herself.
"Listen to me, I guarantee I can take good care of you." Jasmine said.
"So you want to be my housekeeper?"
"You can consider me whatever you like. The Cheney Residence now has no housekeepers, so being a housekeeper is fine too. I can take care of your daily needs."
"That’s quite the ambition."
Jasmine smiled and sat beside him, snuggling close.
She handed him the medicine: "Did you take your medicine this morning? Butler Santana said you don’t really like taking it, how can you be as stubborn as Chale Cheney?"
Sylvan took the medicine from her hand, without denying it.
Jasmine leaned in closer, wrapping her arms around his waist, resting her little head on his shoulder.
The way she was acting was just like a little wife throwing a pout.
The air was tinged with a light hint of ambiguity and endless warmth.
Sylvan frowned, looking down at her on his shoulder: "Jasmine Yale, you went to Cakago and didn’t learn anything else, but your skills in being coy and clingy have certainly improved."
"Guess who I learned from."
"You’ve been like this since you were little."
"Not true, as a child, you always had such a stern face, I was even afraid to get close to you."
"Afraid to get close to me?" Sylvan pinched her face lightly, "Who would run into my room at night? Hmm? When it thundered and rained, who would crawl into my bed?"
"I thought you had forgotten."
"Your dark history is something I’ll have to remember for a lifetime."
"And then, are you going to tell those stories to your son, your grandson? Why are you so cruel? Just forget it, you’re only allowed to remember the good about me, especially you must not smear my name in front of Little Chale."
"Are all those things you actually did?" Sylvan looked at her on his shoulder.
"Um..." Jasmine didn’t deny it, reaching out to tickle his waist, "Let’s not talk about it anymore, okay? I haven’t even mentioned the time you kidnapped me and brought me home. When I think about it now, you were like a human trafficker."
"Are you sure it was me who kidnapped you?"
"Of course, it was you who kidnapped me, so you’re the one responsible."
Jasmine leaned in once more, shifting her little head down, burrowing into his embrace.
His embrace, warm and comfortable as always, she liked it very much.
