Chapter 1300: Chapter 1300: Why Can’t She Get Married?

"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that." She lowered her head and broke free from his embrace.

Joe Heath grabbed her arm and refused to let her go.

"Look at you, so reluctant. Do you really think I want you to wait on me? I was just teasing you a bit, but with that attitude, no man would want to look at you, not even a chest."

While saying this, Joe Heath grabbed at her chest.

"Ah!" Melody Xylas screamed, feeling as if electricity was coursing through her body.

"Damn, why are you screaming?" Joe Heath glanced at her and said, "Go tell my dad if you dare!"

"Master, I’ve never complained to the old master."

"Get out, I’m not interested anymore." Joe Heath’s interest was entirely spoiled, it was just a touch, did she have to scream like that?

"Yes." She couldn’t wait to leave right now.

"Wait, my mood has been ruined by you, you have to pay a price. It’s quite cool outside, go out and cool down." Joe Heath touched his chin, looking at her with a playful expression.

Melody Xylas’s eyes widened, and she looked at him with a face full of terror, "Master, it’s winter now, can I not go?"

The old master and his wife were out, and she hadn’t expected Joe Heath to return today.

"Bargaining with me? Fine, go to the ice cellar instead, it’s even cooler there." He sneered.

Melody Xylas looked at his face, feeling it was so unfamiliar.

He was like a demon, and she was like his prey.

She gazed at him steadily, her eyes misty with a haze rising slowly, like white smoke.

The room’s dim yellow light held a hint of ambiguity, he leaned against the bed, his posture lazy, the corner of his mouth holding a bloodthirsty smile.

"I’ll go out." Melody Xylas was close to crying, her voice lowered.

"Good, that’s more obedient." Joe Heath sneered, "Remember, you can bargain with anyone, just not with me. Otherwise, I’ll make you pay a price. And don’t try to scheme against me behind my back, or it won’t be as simple as just standing outside."

"I have never schemed against you." Melody Xylas raised her head, looking at him.

"Get out!" Joe Heath’s expression turned stern.

Melody Xylas wiped her eyes and hugged her arms as she left his room and walked downstairs.

It was the depths of winter now, and the night brought even colder winds.

With the old master and his wife not at home, Joe’s house was his domain, his word was law.

Only dressed in a thin nightgown, Melody Xylas sneezed as soon as she stepped out of the living room.

She dared not disobey Joe Heath’s words, she chose a relatively secluded spot to stand, not making a sound, hugging her arms tightly.

The cold wind was like a knife, cutting into her face.

Back in the bedroom, Joe Heath picked up his wine glass and took a sip of red wine.

The air still carried the scent of Melody Xylas, he frowned, annoyed, how come such an annoying woman couldn’t get married off?

Out of sight, out of mind. He decided he would return to his apartment the next day.

Joe Heath’s dark eyes fixed on the wine glass. The red wine in it shone like Ruby, illuminating his eyes.

Outside, the cold wind began to rise, causing the windows to tremble.

The Joe house was very quiet. You could even hear the rustling of tree leaves against the ground.

He glanced at the wall clock—it was just past nine in the evening.

Landon’s night, and Cakago’s morning.

The edges of Joe Heath’s lips curled up in an attractive curve. He pulled out his phone, played with it for a bit, and scrolled to Jasmine Yale’s number.

Jasmine Yale had just gotten out of bed and was combing her hair, getting ready to go out.
