Chapter 1278: Chapter 1278: Do You Want Elder Cheney?
"Make sure to take all your luggage, don’t leave anything behind. I’m still in Cakago, I haven’t left yet."
"Are you not at work yet?"
"Not yet, I made some cookies for you, they’ll last a month, so you can eat them when you get back," Yukon’s voice was clear and moist, "Sweet Kitty misses you a bit, lately he’s been quite irritable staying with me."
Jasmine Yale listened to Yukon talk about everyday things, simple as they were, she found herself enchanted.
Chale Cheney looked at Jasmine Yale on the balcony, his little hand twisting his sleeve.
His little mouth puckered, and he played with his fingers as he hung his head.
He silently waited for Jasmine Yale.
After about ten minutes, Jasmine Yale finished her call with Yukon.
Back in the bedroom, she saw Chale Cheney hanging his head, looking aggrieved as if he had been bullied.
Jasmine Yale crouched down, smiling as she stroked his head, "What’s wrong? You seem unhappy."
"Jasy..." he called in a whiny voice, sounding very wronged, "Do you have someone you like?"
It was the uncle who had called her.
He heard the voice; the uncle’s voice was nice.
When Jasy was on the phone, she was also smiling.
"No, don’t think about such things, child."
"Who was that uncle who just called you? Do you like him?"
"He’s a friend of Jasy."
"No, that’s not true, Jasy is lying, Jasy has someone she likes, Jasy, don’t you want Chaley anymore?" Chale Cheney bit his lip, his big eyes looking up at Jasmine Yale.
"How could Jasy not want you? Jasy wants you."
Jasmine Yale embraced him tightly. She couldn’t stand to see the little guy feeling aggrieved and unhappy.
She wanted him to be happy every day.
"Jasy, then do you want Elder Cheney? Do you?" Chale Cheney asked, lying in her arms.
Jasmine Yale was at a loss for words.
"Why don’t you answer the baby..."
"Your dad is a very good person."
Chale Cheney clearly didn’t like this answer; he burst out crying, "The baby knows that dad is a good person, the baby likes him a lot, so Jasy, do you like him or not..."
Jasmine Yale’s face showed her dilemma.
Chale Cheney had the attitude of not stopping until he heard the answer he wanted.
"Like or not, like or not."
Jasmine Yale said quietly, "Chaley, no more fussing, okay? Let’s go downstairs for breakfast, and after we eat, Jasy has to go to the airport."
"You don’t like dad anymore, the year before last, you said you liked him. Jasy, you’re lying, you’re lying. Jasy, now that you have uncle, you don’t want dad and the baby anymore, right?"
"Chaley, your dad was never really Jasy’s to begin with," Jasmine Yale didn’t know how to reason with a child.
No matter how she explained, it was wrong.
The child had his own answer already.
"I understand." Chale Cheney’s long eyelashes drooped.
Seeing the little guy’s dejected expression, Jasmine Yale felt a pang in her heart.
She couldn’t help but ruffle his hair, "Let’s go, downstairs for breakfast."
"Jasy, who is this uncle?"
"A friend of Jasy, Uncle Carbon."
"Does Jasy like him very much?"
"Children don’t understand."
"Children do understand, children do!" Chale Cheney got a bit anxious, "Jasy, Elder Cheney really is a good person, please like him a bit? Or, take the baby with you, let the baby give you an Elder Cheney, okay?"
Buy one, get one?
Jasmine Yale laughed.
But she still shook her head, "Chaley, one shouldn’t ask about adult matters anymore, okay?"
"Then, is Uncle Carbon good or is Elder Cheney better?"
