Chapter 1276: Chapter 1276: Jasy and Daddy, Both Want
Jasmine Yale’s heart melted, just like the ice after a long winter, instantly liquefying.
Chale Cheney smiled sweetly, sitting on the ground like a rag doll.
Unable to hold back any longer, Jasmine ran up and hugged the little one on the ground.
Tears misted her eyes, rising like shimmering drops, blurring her vision.
The world before her became fuzzy, but her hands did not loosen their grip; they tightly held Chale Cheney.
"Baby, Little Rascal, baby..." Jasmine’s voice choked up.
Chale nestled in her arms, not quite understanding why Jasy was crying, but indeed, she was crying.
"Jasy..."
"Let Jasy hold you, and never leave Jasy again, okay?"
"Jasy, what’s wrong?"
"Nothing, I just want to hold you, I want you to always be with Jasy."
Chale blinked his big eyes, his gaze filled with hazy confusion.
"Jasy won’t cry anymore."
"Jasy isn’t crying." Jasmine wiped the tears from her eyes, "Jasy is very happy."
Her world felt like a stone had been cast into it, instantly stirring up waves.
She had thought she had completely forgotten the past and embraced a new life, but deep down... she couldn’t cut ties nor straighten the mess.
If this was true, she would still be entangled with Sylvan Cheney, right?
In front of him, she always had no say; whatever he said, went.
"Chaley, if one day, Jasy means if... you had to choose between Jasy and your dad, whom would you choose?"
"Ah! No, don’t choose, I want both Jasy and dad, both."
Chale panicked, hugging Jasmine’s neck, jumping around.
Don’t make him choose!
How could they make him choose!
She had spoken out of spite to Elder Cheney before, saying she didn’t need him anymore.
But that was just out of spite.
Elder Cheney was so good to him! But so was Jasy!
Why make such a difficult question...
He didn’t want to choose.
"Don’t choose, don’t choose..." Jasmine quickly soothed him, stroking his head.
She didn’t want to hear the answer anymore.
These five years, she and Chale had very little time together.
And Sylvan was different.
Chale was raised by his own hands; everything he used was the best, and she had seen how well Sylvan treated Chale.
And she, she could give Chale nothing.
Actually, there was no need to choose; even she had made her choice, hadn’t she?
If so, there might be no need to verify the answer; what would be the point of having it confirmed?
Did she want to break this existing equilibrium and understanding?
"It’s okay, Chale, I’m sorry, Jasy will never ask such a question again, I’m sorry." Jasmine held him close in her embrace.
She stroked his little head, an odd sensation spreading through her.
Her eyes bore traces of a light mist, her pupils contracted, filled with delicate feelings.
"It’s okay." Chale held Jasmine just the same, very happily, "Jasy, how much longer is your vacation? Let’s go back to Landon together, we can sneak back, dad will be so surprised!"
"No, you can’t wander off, Jasy won’t take you back."
"Can’t wander off? But I can wander off in Lonton."
"If you want to go back to Landon, just call your dad, he will agree."
Chale fell silent then; he just wanted Jasy to go back with him.
"Jasy, do you still keep in touch with dad?" Chale asked innocently.
"Little children shouldn’t ask about adult matters." Jasmine pinched his cheek.
