Chapter 1261: Chapter 1261: Jasy! Here!
Jasmine Yale had grown quite familiar with him, so she wasn’t reserved anymore.
"Mr. Santos, are you spending New Year’s in Old York this year?"
"Yes, with Ann and Little Candy," Zachary Santos replied, his expression natural.
"I also hope someone is there for Ann, and I hope Little Candy can have a complete family. Mr. Santos, please take good care of them, thank you."
"I will."
"Mr. Santos, may I ask a presumptuous question?" Jasmine’s voice lowered.
"Please, ask." Zachary Santos’s demeanor was very gentle, like a warm jade bathed in soft light, his voice exceptionally clear.
"Is your brother still in Landon? Will he continue to disturb Ann’s life?"
"He’s long gone from Landon. As to where, I’m not exactly sure. My brother and I aren’t that close. He doesn’t meddle in my affairs, and I’ve always steered clear of his."
"What about Harper Glorian? Have you seen her? Did she go with your brother?" Jasmine Yale was not being nosy, she genuinely wanted to know.
She understood clearly that Ann Nolan would have never asked Zachary Santos these questions.
There’s no need to question someone who’s become just a memory.
"I’ve seen her a few times at some social events, sorry, but I’m even less concerned about her," Zachary Santos apologized.
Jasmine nodded.
She knew Zachary Santos was always busy, that he certainly wasn’t interested and wouldn’t go out of his way to find out about such things.
Her inquiring like this must have made him uncomfortable.
Jasmine did not ask further.
After breakfast, Jasmine Yale went to the bedroom to check on Little Candy.
Well-fed and happy, Little Candy was playing contentedly, without crying, busy with her own fun, while Ann watched her, eyes filled with adoration.
Outside the window, the sun shone brilliantly, heralding another clear day.
The mist in the air was slowly dissipating, and the sky gradually returned to a deep blue.
...
Jasmine Yale spent a week in Old York this trip.
Initially, she was supposed to return to Cakago with Yukon Carbon after a week, but having promised Chale Cheney, she booked a ticket to fly to Lonton.
It had been a long time since she’d seen Little Chale.
On the plane, she felt her eyes suddenly warm up, uncertain what emotion was stirring, as if something was lodged in her throat.
It really had been a long time...
The crystal necklace that Chale Cheney had given her was still hanging around her neck.
Later, she would learn why the crystal was so expensive – the natural pattern formed within the crystal beads resembled snowflakes, especially clear under the sunlight.
Last New Year’s, she’d spent with Yukon Carbon and his family in Cakago.
Aunt Camden was very good to her, as was Yukon Carbon.
Jasmine rubbed her temples.
When the plane landed in Lonton, it was precisely seven in the evening.
Lonton was cold too. Wrapped in her scarf and carrying her bag, Jasmine followed the address she had been given.
She wanted to surprise the little one.
On the roadside, Jasmine Yale looked down, waiting for the traffic light while studying the map.
"Jasy! Jasy! Over here!"
As she lowered her head, a long-lost voice reached her from across the street!
The road wasn’t wide, and Jasmine clearly heard Chale Cheney’s crisp voice, still childish and tender.
Jasmine looked up, her eyes instantly crinkling with a smile.
It was Chale Cheney!
The little one was standing on the opposite side of the road, just like... the first time they met.
That time, the little one recklessly sought her out, nearly getting struck by a car, thank goodness she caught him.
It felt like such a distant memory.
Jasmine’s gaze was entirely focused on the little figure across the street!
(Wishing everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival and a joyful reunion with family~)
