Chapter 1258: Chapter 1258: Restless Little Feet
She went to fetch water.
After getting a cup of boiled water, she hugged the cup and returned.
She just didn’t acknowledge him.
But when she stood at the top of the stairs, Sylvan Cheney turned his head: "What are you doing?"
"I won’t tell you."
Sylvan Cheney laughed: "You won’t tell me? It’s nothing but watching TV, sleeping, what’s there that you can’t tell me?"
"You’ve upset me."
"How did you get upset, I’m looking out for you. You’re young, easy to be deceived."
"Who could be more deceptive than you."
"How did I deceive you? Huh?" Sylvan Cheney looked at her leisurely, clearly amused.
Jasmine Yale’s cheeks flushed.
Isn’t being handsome just capital for deceiving people? At the very least, he had already deceived her into liking him.
"Come here, keep me company while watching TV." Sylvan Cheney walked toward the sofa, beckoning her over in the process.
"I have a temper, you think I’m just going to watch it because you say so?" Jasmine Yale huffed coldly, "Don’t you know that there should be a distinction between men and women?"
Sylvan Cheney’s laughter grew even more intense: "When did you become so sharp-tongued? Your little claws seem quite proficient at scratching others. If you don’t want to watch, that’s fine. I was planning to take you to a farm stay tomorrow, but it seems that’s no longer necessary."
Jasmine Yale’s eyes widened, she gave him a hateful glance, wishing she could devour him.
"Why are you so mean?" Jasmine Yale gritted her teeth, her gaze fixed on him.
Sylvan Cheney walked to the sofa, settled down contentedly, and turned on the TV without lifting his head.
He patted the spot next to him: "Come sit here."
"..." Jasmine Yale glared at him fiercely again, but only at his back, which he couldn’t see.
In the end... she still sat down beside him quite weakly.
She couldn’t be angry with him because she had a good temper, so she didn’t let herself get angry with him.
Like a kitten, she flicked off her slippers, sitting on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket.
As she got close to him, she could smell the faint scent of Agarwood Fragrance emanating from his body.
Likewise, Sylvan Cheney also caught the fragrance of her shower gel, light and subtle.
He flipped through the channels, and she propped her cheek in her hand.
On New Year’s Eve, without any particularly lively activities or special events, they sat side by side, just like they always did.
Often, when a habit forms, it becomes as commonplace as eating or sleeping, and if it changes one day, it feels wrong.
Sylvan Cheney thought, he might be used to being with her.
What if one day she gets married?
The thought barely surfaced in his mind before he swiftly snuffed it out.
The living room atmosphere was cozy, warmth enveloped the surroundings.
Jasmine Yale’s smooth feet rubbed against the soft sofa, restlessly moving about.
Her ankles were fair and delicate, sometimes accidentally brushing his leg through the fabric of his pants.
Each time it happened, Sylvan Cheney would look down, frowning at her restless little feet.
Jasmine Yale laughed at him with a giggle: "It wasn’t on purpose."
She truly didn’t do it on purpose, but it wasn’t easy for Sylvan Cheney to endure; his throat moved, a deep fire smoldered in his eyes, restrained and controlled.
"When are we going to the farm stay tomorrow? Is it fun? Far away?" She wasn’t interested in the TV; she just wanted to lean on him a little longer, talk with him a little more.
"Nine in the morning."
"Mm, that works, I can get up."
"If you can’t get up, then I’ll never take you again."
"No, no, definitely will get up, you know I’m very diligent."
"..."
Jasmine Yale happily fidgeted on the sofa, never stopping for a moment.
