Chapter 1211: Chapter 1211: No Need to Pick Me Up Especially

Following the crowd, she walked out of the airport.

It was morning in Cakago, a clear sunrise with dew still glistening on the leaves, refracting colorful light under the sun.

The area near the airport was bustling with people ebbing and flowing like the tide.

Wrapped in a scarf, Jasmine Yale pulled her suitcase with one hand, the other tucked in her coat pocket.

So cold, even colder than back home.

On her trip back to the country, she hadn’t even stepped out of the Cheney Residence, confined at home for three days.

Now returning to Cakago, she felt like a bird out of a cage, finally returning to nature.

But for some reason, her emotions were especially complex at the moment.

An indescribable feeling spread through her body, knocking on her heart beat by beat.

She squinted and looked up at the sun, somewhat dazzling, but more so comforting.

She stood at the curb, ready to go back to her own little apartment.

Three days had felt like a century.

"Jasmine." Just then, a crisp yet gentle voice came.

"Mr. Carbon?" Jasmine turned her head in surprise.

No mistake, it was Yukon Carbon.

How could he...

Yukon approached her, his eyes landing on her rosy, frozen cheeks.

"I guessed your flight might have landed. Lucky I came on time." Yukon smiled at her and took the suitcase from her hand, "Let’s go, I drove here. I’ll take you home."

"Mr. Carbon, did you come from Old York? Today’s a workday, isn’t it?"

"My assignment this month was originally Samme Francisco, but I swapped with a colleague. Now I’m in Cakago."

"Is that even possible?" Jasmine didn’t understand.

"Of course, it is."

Yukon smiled as they walked side by side towards the parking lot.

"Will you have to go back again after this trip home?" Yukon asked with concern.

"No, not going back. I’ll be here peacefully waiting for the winter break, the New Year. How long will you be in Cakago?"

"I’m on assignment for a month. I can stay in Cakago for the entire month."

"That’s great! So, you can take me out then? I’ve been here for several months and haven’t really had fun." Jasmine thought for a moment, then corrected herself, "No, that won’t work, you have to work, and work overtime on weekends."

"I’m not that busy."

Yukon laughed as he pressed the elevator button and walked with her into the underground parking lot.

Yukon’s car was parked below. He stowed Jasmine’s suitcase in the trunk before settling into the driver’s seat.

"Did you take the day off today?"

"Hmm."

"Mr. Carbon, that work attitude won’t do, you’ll get fired," Jasmine laughed, "I can go back by myself, you didn’t have to come all the way to pick me up."

"Don’t worry, it won’t affect my work. When I have time, I’ll take you to our bank."

"I don’t have any money to deposit."

"Who said you had to deposit?" Yukon laughed.

At this moment, Jasmine felt an immense sense of relief.

The car was warm and emitted a fresh scent of Bergamot, which upon reaching her nose, felt refreshing and uplifting.

In the passenger’s seat, there was a stuffed cat. Jasmine picked it up.

"When did you buy this?" she hugged the realistic stuffed kitty.

"It’s for Sweet Kitty to play with, I just left it in the car by mistake."

"Is Sweet Kitty well-behaved? Does it eat a lot? Must be hard to take care of. It’s very mischievous."

"Just like you." Yukon quirked his lips, "Very obedient. You should be careful, my mom might fight you for the chance to take care of it."

"Does it miss me then?"

"Perhaps... not so much?"
