Chapter 1193: Chapter 1193: A Dog Can’t Spit Out Ivory

The banquet had lasted four hours.

At eleven o’clock PM, Zachary Santos kept his promise and personally escorted Ann Nolan back to her apartment.

His place was quite far from her apartment, and Ann felt apologetic about it.

Because of Zachary Santos’s presence at the evening party, Harper Glorian didn’t dare to do anything to her. Harper tried several times to approach Mr. Santos but was constantly blocked by his assistant.

Downstairs, Zachary Santos waved his hand: "Go up, it’s cold tonight. Change out of your dress when you get home, so you don’t catch a cold."

"Thank you, CEO Santos. Take care, I’m going upstairs," Ann said, still draped in his coat.

She had rushed out earlier in the evening and forgotten to take her own coat. Now standing outside, she truly felt the chill.

"Hurry up," Zachary Santos said without immediately closing the car door, his eyes shining with bright light, like twinkling stars in the sky.

Ann wrapped the coat around herself tighter and ran towards the apartment corridor in her white high heels.

She hadn’t drunk much that night, but still felt a bit groggy.

She pressed the elevator button for her floor and walked towards the apartment she rented as she usually did.

Just as she reached the door, she suddenly discovered a tall figure standing in front of her apartment, leaning against the wall with an unlit cigarette between his fingers.

Upon hearing the sound of high heels, Zaiden turned his head, his icy eyes fixing on her, the cold gaze landing on her face.

"Decided to come back, have you?"

"What are you doing here?" Ann walked over, her eyes filled with surprise. "It’s really late now."

Zaiden’s frosty gaze swept over her from head to toe—

Ann had a great figure, with a slender waist and long legs, accentuated further by her high heels.

Her hair was slightly curled, emanating a captivating charm.

The evening gown seemed as if it were tailor-made for her, fitting perfectly, complementing her body and figure, and importantly... carried a hefty price tag.

Eventually, his gaze rested on the black suit she had on.

A man’s suit.

At a glance, one could tell it was Zachary Santos’s, a style exclusively chosen by his brother Evan, who only wore that particular brand.

"What, didn’t spend the night at Mr. Santos’s place?"

"Zaiden Santos, you fucking can’t spew anything nice from that dog mouth of yours. I can’t be bothered to explain to you, think whatever the hell you want," Ann said angrily. "Move aside."

She approached him, trying to push past him.

But Zaiden was strong, and he swiftly yanked off the suit jacket from her, crumpled it fiercely, and then threw it to the ground.

With the suit gone, Ann felt a sudden chill envelop her. She hugged her arms tight.

She was wearing an off-the-shoulder dress, and given it was the depth of winter, it was very cold.

"What the hell’s gotten into you, Zaiden? I told you at noon, I had a banquet tonight. What’s with your attitude? Forgot?"

"Ann Nolan, did he buy that dress for you?" Zaiden’s gaze fell on her dress, piercing it with a sharp look.

"I bought it myself," Ann said, fearing he would go berserk again.

"Ha, Ann Nolan, you can’t afford a dress from this brand, nor would you bear to buy one." Zaiden scoffed. "A dress worth a hundred thousand or more, he really is generous."

Ann was taken aback for a moment.

She didn’t know much about formal dresses, even less about luxury ones.

She had been struck by the obscurity of the brand when she opened the packaging, one she had never heard of.

Now hearing Zaiden Santos talk like this, she realized...

However, Ann, slightly tipsy, chuckled: "Mr. Santos seems to know quite a bit about women’s clothes."

"Ann Nolan, cut the crap!" Zaiden yanked her wrist and with a stern face, pulled her into his embrace!
