Chapter 1190: Chapter 1190: That’s All the Ability He Has

She didn’t know much about his past with Zachary Santos, just mentioned it casually.

But she didn’t expect Zaiden Santos’s expression to change dramatically, his large hand gripping her wrist tightly.

The depths of Zaiden Santos’s eyes were cold and dark, his face somber—he emitted an endless chill.

His eyes, sharp as a hawk’s, fixed intently on Ann Nolan, the corners of his lips bearing a cold curve.

"Don’t compare me with Zachary Santos, do you understand?" he warned her coldly.

Feeling uncomfortable under his piercing gaze, Ann Nolan shivered, "Let go."

"Ann Nolan, I won’t allow you to be so close to Zachary Santos. As long as I’m your husband, you must keep your distance from him!"

Zaiden Santos was warning her again.

She had received countless warnings like this.

It was always about what she shouldn’t do.

Ironically, what he forbade her from doing, he did himself.

Ann Nolan laughed with a slightly dazed look, tilted her head towards him, her smile now carrying a seductive charm that wasn’t there before, utterly captivating.

"Zaiden Santos, if I had an affair, would you divorce me?"

Zaiden Santos’s face changed, his grip on her wrist tightening, "If you have an affair, I’ll make sure your Nolan Family is destroyed. Can your grandfather, at his age, withstand such turmoil and cold stares? Huh?"

"Zaiden Santos, you’re really despicable," Ann Nolan laughed, a touch of desolation in her smile.

She had thought he was a gentleman, but now it seemed he was nothing but a vile wretch. When no one else was present, he was always shameless.

"So, Ann Nolan, if you’re not afraid, just try it—rely on Zachary Santos all you want," Zaiden Santos looked into her eyes, "see if he will care about your life or death."

"Can you just leave?" Ann Nolan looked at him calmly, her chest heaving unevenly, her breathing rapid.

Every argument with him ended in her complete defeat.

In this marriage, though they were both at fault, she was always the one who bore all the suffering.

He never cared a bit about her feelings.

If this weren’t a public place, he would have forced himself upon her.

That was all he was capable of.

Look, this was the man she naively loved, the one she had once carefully cherished in her heart.

Ann Nolan felt it quite ironic.

Zaiden Santos let go of her wrist, glancing at her sharply, "I’ll pick you up tonight."

With that, he straightened his clothes, coughed a few times, and walked out of the restroom.

The air still lingered with his scent and coldness.

Ann Nolan’s wrist was red with a circle of his handprint.

Her legs weak, she leaned against the wall, staring blankly at the edge of the sink.

In the bright mirror before her, she saw the vague traces in her eyes—there was no glimmer of light.

Zaiden Santos’s voice still echoed in her ears, her head throbbing painfully. Ann Nolan rubbed her temple, her mind still hazy.

Just then, her mobile phone rang.

She steadied herself against the wall, rummaged through her bag and fetched her phone.

"CEO Santos."

"Why haven’t you come back yet? Are you drunk?" Zachary Santos’s warm voice came.

"No, I can hold my liquor."

"Come home this afternoon to rest, take a nap, you don’t have to come to work."

"No, I am alright, I can work."

"I guess there’s no arguing with you." Zachary Santos sounded helpless, "Alright, I’ll drive you to your apartment, but you must take a nap."

"Umm... I’ll be right there, CEO Santos, just wait for me."
